I am not surprised that this MRI location, and the rest of the Horizon Open MRI centers in the DFW metroplex have closed. While I have to give this place 3 stars, because it was Horizon Open MRI and their radiologists who finally recognized and correctly diagnosed my issues: «The cerebellar tonsils extend 0.8 cm below the foramen Magnum, compatible with a Chiari one malformation. Due to the high incidence of a syrinx with this process imaging of the entire spinal cord is recommended. Straightening of the lordotic curvature is noted in the cervical spine.» In other words, 8 mm of my brain is falling out of my head, and my neck is stick straight. However, the reason they don’t get the other two stars from me is because of their complete inability to file claims on insurance, inability to bill correctly, and the fact that I had to get a lawyer to get it straightened out. I had MRI of my Brain and C Spine on Aug 10, 2005 and then another«full scan» as recommended above was performed on Aug 16, 2005. First they didn’t bill my insurance correctly. Then the second scan, they also didn’t bill my insurance correctly. Great! Fun! Just call them and get them to fix it? Right? HA. Instead of fixing it… they billed both scans AGAIN, like I had 4 MRIs in two weeks(2 on the 10th and 2 on the 16th). My insurance finally paid the two that were correctly billed. The other two, sat out there, «past due» for about 3 years. It took my lawyer writing their main office, which is now in Florida… since they closed all the ones in Texas, explaining the finer points of the law to them, before they would finally take the bill collecting bull dogs off my a$$. MRIs are great. They are like«legal naps» in the middle of the day that as adults we don’t get very often. MRIs are great when the radiologists know how to correctly read them. But MRIs are not great enough for me to pay for the same one TWICE, and the second one TWICE. Um, yeah, no.
