We had a very good dinner here! A nice change from other restaurants in the area. The ambiance is nice — they have several small rooms so it feels intimate. There is a roving accordion player(we were there on a Friday evening) who is very nice and unobtrusive. Food was quite good. We had the smoked salmon and the green salad with warm goat cheese for appetizers and the shrimp & scallop linguini and lamb chops for dinner. All were nice portions and we enjoyed every bite. I like lamb well done, and it was still very tender and juicy! Kudos to the chef! For dessert we had a the Grand Marnier Soufflé and the Opera cake. The Soufflé was just right, with just the right amount of sauce and whipped cream. The Opera cake was also very good. They also have a small area outside where you can eat if you’d like. It does front a parking lot but still it was nicely appointed. The only thing I would change is that I would arrive at 6:30 or 7PM on a Friday evening. We got there at 6 after work and it was a bit too early. By 7PM the place was buzzing. We will definitely go back.

I love the goat cheese gnocchi. It’s one of my favorites in the city actually. The atmosphere is quaint and the staff is very professional.

My friends and I dined here for a Friday lunch and I’m so glad we did. Everything was fresh, well seasoned and tasted lovely. The mushroom soup I read about wasn’t on the lunch menu when I voiced my disappointment the waitress she said she would check with the chef to see if it was available. I didn’t ask her to do this, I just mentioned that I heard about the soup and really wanted to try it but it wasn’t on the menu. Well, I got the mushroom soup and it was FANTASTIC! Absolutely lovely, creamy, deep rich mushroom flavor with chunks of mushrooms, and just the right amount of «dressing» with baguette & Brie. I cannot recommend this soup more! The salads were fantastic as well. In house made dressings, fresh, crisp and well balanced. Can’t wait to go back!

Good restaurant, but not in a great location as I rarely find myself doing anything in the area, especially if my intentions are leisurely. But that doesn’t take away from the authenticity of the food and the good service.

I love this place! The food is always phenomenal because the chef cares so much about quality and what his customers think! Specials change often to appeal to everyone. The staff is friendly and inviting; always making me feel at home. Perfect for romantic dinners, specials occasions, lunch, or if you just want to hang at the bar for happy hour. Wide selection of liquors and wines, with complimentary appetizers during happy hour! Must try!

We went to Cadot for Valentines. Reservations were made at the last minute, but Cadot was still able to squeeze us in! The food was cooked to perfection, the wait staff prompt and courteous, and the ambiance was inviting and charming. I would definitely come back again!

Looking for something a little out of our norm to celebrate a birthday and decided on Cadot. Glad we did! The food was a five but a couple of minor items on the service pulled it down a star. To start, the wine selection was pretty decent, as is expected for a French restaurant. While my wife prefers wine I lean towards beer and was a little disappointed as the selection was pretty limited and main stream with one French beer on the list: Kronenbourg 1664. I realize it is a French restaurant and beer is not a French staple, but I’m hoping that more restaurants recognize the craft brew explosion and start offering a few local options that pair well with their food. I’ll get my criticisms out of the way before moving on to the food. While my dinner mates ordered either soup or salad, I opted for both. Much to my surprise, they brought both dishes out at the same time. I expected better from this type of venue. Also, not expected for this venue was the food runner asking us who ordered each dish that he was tabling. Come on guys, you shouldn’t need to ask who gets what. A note to the wait staff — if someone asks you about two of the dishes because they are having trouble deciding, please, don’t tell us which one is your favorite. Unless you know me and know that your tastes are similar to mine, telling me which is your favorite is meaningless. Let me know if the restaurant is known for one of the dishes and/or describe what makes each dish great so that we can make our own decision. Sorry, a pet peeve of ours. Ok, on to the good. We started with the French onion soup and wild mushroom soup. Both were delectable. Just the right amount of cream in the mushroom soup — tasty, creamy but not heavy. The mixed greens with goat cheese salad and prosciutto was very nice. Great mix of salt, acid and sweet. The water melon salad was a change from the typical and was very good. The filet was done to perfection and my father-in-law commented that it was one of the best steaks he has had. The bouillabaisse was extremely tasty with the fish being cooked to perfection — flaky but it still held together well. The rotisserie chicken was delicious — crispy skin and juicy and flavorful. The My daughter said the vegetarian linguini was«very good!». All of the dishes had great presentation. The wait staff was extremely attentive ensuring that we never ran out of bread and that within a short time of our drink being emptied we were asked about another. We’ll be back for sure!

Superb. Let’s just start with that OK. My wife and I deserved a nice evening out. We agreed on trying Cadot after reading reviews in several places. From being seated to when we left were happy. The environment is perfect. Quiet live accordion music gives a very pleasing ambiance. The waiter was excellent. The watermelon salad superb. The shrimp bisque tasty. The sea bass and scallop entrees were both excellent. And finishing with the Grand Marnier Soufflé was a great choice. Highly recommended.

What a great dinner! The dinning room was clean, charming and inviting. Our waiter was simply amazing. He tended to our every need, made excellent suggestions and keep us entertained with his conversation. The food tasted as good as it looked. Each plate was full of color and artistic detail. The cocktails were also nice and the dessert was freakin amazing! So light fluffy and big, bold flavor! So good would mind having another!

I have eaten at some of the finest restaurants in my days and Cadot was quite a surprise. First off the waiter Frank was amazing. He knew the menu inside and out, had wine pairing knowledge, and was friendly but not intrusive. The food here is insane! The Lamb Chops were the star. Perfect medium rare and it melts in your mouth. It had a light sauce that masks the gameyness of lamb but didn’t overpower the delicious grass fed taste. It was paired with a delicious Alfredo pasta with bleu cheese. One of the best meals I have ever had in my life. We also enjoyed steak and Pom frites. The steak was cooked perfectly and had a delicious peppercorn sauce. The peppercorn sauce could make a shoe taste good. Cadot has a great selection of wines and appetizers. I can’t wait to try the escargot and their Filet with Bone Marrow sauce. Cadot is a North Dallas treasure and I can’t wait to be a regular. The atmosphere is very unique. It has the feel of a French bistro but it is still quite Texan. This unique atmosphere also sums up the amazing service. Good olé fashion southern hospitality mixed with French dining creates a masterpiece. We will meet again Cadot!!! Soon!

Excellent service, excellent food! Got there with family, from CA looking for a great meal, wine and desert! And we got it! My only complaint was that as oppose to what everyone has written, the grand marnier soufflé was not that great! Otherwise my compliments to the chef and the staff… If I do go back to Dallas I am sure to stop by again!

I am by no means a foodie as I eat more for purpose and health. That said, if you want a yummy meal prepared exactly as you request it … Cadot is the place. We ate here one time for Thanksgiving and I’m not sure I have had a better prepared turkey in my life. It was that yummy and the team is great here. The vibe here is subtle which is cool and it is definitely a 5 star service experience. They will not miss a beat and I’ve been here at least 10x and it is always a GREAT experience. Really good food, good people, good times … Did I mention it was really good food. «Run Forest run» to Cadot for a great meal

Maybe 4.5 stars even. Food is very good and done with quality in mind. Very little noise and low music background. Service is excellent. Cute patio. Good date place.

Cadot was ok. Our main waiter on 5÷8÷15 just didn’t do it for me. It was something about his attitude that rubbed me the wrong way at times. The crab cakes were good the Pork Tenders where ok. The lobster bisque was great and the Tilapia dish was tolerable. We also had a total of 2 glasses of wine. With tip our tab was $ 120. That’s alot of money for a meal that was middle to average in taste. If I’m in the area I may go back and try the Bouillabaisse at some point.

After viewing so many reviews on Unilocal I decided to go candor for BDay. However the dishes were disappointed. We ordered lamb and pork rib. And lobster soup and other appetizers. The lamb was juicy but lack of flavor. I even thought the sauce comes with it tastes like Mexico bean sauce. The pork is just normal. However, I rate it 3 star for the good service as it should be. And the chocolate cake they gave us as free gift. Thanks anyway, but won’t come again.

Loved it! Our server was excellent and even started speaking Chinese to me, which was impressive! He really mastered the art of small talk because he’d say a few things, turn, then leave, but not in a rude way! Our entire meal from appetizer to dessert was fantastic!

Cabot exudes simple, classic French dining. There’s no faux chintzy decorations trying to bring Paris to Texas, with an elegantly plated dinner space, patio and private salon. We were greeted by Chef Jean-Marie and enjoyed a warm conversation despite the unseasonable snow and ice storm. Jean-Marie explained his restaurant vision, family history and specials for tonight. Due to decimated patronage our party of 3 could have a choice of the whole room and strangely the greeter sat us at a table for 6 facing into the room and overlooking the main door — cold wind and all. For this unacceptable behavior you loose two stars. We moved to a 4 seat table which was more in keeping with our plans to talk face to face and share memories. The Turkish waiter made up for the greeters poor judgment by treating us wonderfully — so I’ll give you a star back. The menu is broad and authentic. We wanted to sample the variety, so each chose a different type of starter and shared. The classic onion soup was everything is should be and more. Creamy smooth and not a hint of bitterness. The duck terrine’s pistachio and truffle were a beautiful balance to the richer, gamey taste of the duck and foie gras. While the tuna tartare was perfectly completed with the guacamole and caviar. There was a mix up which meant we got an extra goat cheese salad in replacement of the endive and beets but once fixed we enjoyed them both. The salads have a complex set of ingredients but aren’t over constructed or pretentious. They hit the mark with a classic French country feel being paired with the minimum of dressing and freshest greens. Portioning is excellent; no big plates bulked up with starch and filler, so we could easily finish the entrées. We chose the pecan crusted sea bass, filet mignon and roast duck. Sea bass: The butternut squash was more purée that vegetable portion but the rustic gnocchi and light leek cream sauce were great accompaniment to a expertly cooked portion of fish. Filet mignon: over priced, tough, over seasoned and under whelming. Perhaps the snow had really impacted this dish as the mushrooms seemed more grocery store than wild and the bordelaise sauce was sweeter and less buttery than I’ve had on my many summer vacations to France. In a town that crazy about its meat this was a big surprise, especially given the chef’s background and touch on other dishes. Roast duck: classical French flavors, beautiful and wrapped in a sauce that highlights exceptional preparation and finesse. This was everything the steak should have been and rescued the star I’d have dropped because of the steak fail. We shared a Profiteroles between us. Rich, dark chocolate great filling and paper thin pastry helped send us off happy. Overall we left happy but couldn’t ignore the mistakes and missteps. Luckily there was always something to redeem the errors but on a busier night with less chances to make good on those errors. I’ll certainly give Cabot’s another go and perhaps it will earn the five stars others think it deserves.

The food is pretty good. Prices are all over the place though. Reasonable $ 8 apps, and a few $ 18 ones as well. All in all it’s like Mignon. But not quite as good. And a tad more expensive. In a much less hip/casual atmosphere. Most of the diners here seem to be of retirement age. That’s awkward to say, but I think it’ll probably help readers. If you want a little more casual, maybe a little cheaper, and better food, hit up Mignon. Nothing wrong with this place exactly, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say we’re leaving slightly disappointed.

Are there really under 100 reviews for this place? It’s been here for years, always looks busy and must be doing something right if all of their dining rooms can be absolutely packed on a Saturday night in January. Then again, I’m just now getting around to reviewing this place and it’s clear I’ve been late to this party. Here’s an excellent example of a local restaurant getting by on word-of-mouth from its loyal patrons and making new converts of customers who just happen to give it a shot some night(for those of you playing along at home, that’s me, and possibly you). Cadot does so much right that it is difficult to believe more people have not discovered it yet. The first thing you may realize about this particular strip mall is that it is cursed. Pubs have gone out, Italian restaurants have gone out and other businesses I am forgetting have all bitten the dust at this intersection. Yet Cadot, in its eye-catching corner lot has weathered the storm, and it is not hard to see why. If you’ve ever been to Fouquet’s on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, Cadot kind of looks like that place’s younger brother from the outside. The red awnings and dining rooms near where cars drive by kind of made a nice(unintentional?) throwback to my trip to Paris years ago, but the comparisons kind of stopped when you walk in. Cadot is most certainly its own creation, and it is a fantastic one from start to finish. Well, sort of. I was initially apprehensive that the front desk may have been confused about where to sit our party(following a reservation made days prior). After some huddling between the three gals, whatever questions were answered and we walked through a dining room to the right into a brightly lit eating area near the kitchen. Along the way, we passed a private room for someone’s party. Yet with all the people in here, it was still at a pleasant noise level and not at all crowded. Our waiter, Unsal, could not be recommended enough. He was patient with our questions(and we had a lot), he kept the pace of our meal steady and I even witnessed him personally showing one of his customers where the bathrooms were. This guy is a total class act, and made our experience here positively exceptional. Equally impressive were the dishes, and, let’s face it: any restaurant, but especially a French restaurant, is going to live or die by the food. Well, consider Cadot hearty and healthy, as I think we all picked our plates clean. I cannot comment on the salads ordered since I opted for an escargot appetizer, but everyone seemed mighty satisfied. I’m not sure if I got preferential treatment or if two of the snails from another order escaped, but my order of six was actually eight. So if Unsal was the MVP for the night, then the chef was the first understudy. Some might say the main courses were skimping on sizes but we all found them to be perfectly balanced for portion control: braised short ribs that melt in your mouth were the perfect amount, and the same can be said of the pistachio-crusted sea bass. And, sadly, I can say the same about my stuffed rabbit legs. I say«sadly» because I was half-tempted to order another plate of them, if not for the fact that I got the last round for the night. We had 6:30 reservations. This place opens at 5:00 on Saturday. That means if you want rabbit(and you do), get here early and let your mouth water, because a lot of people must have the same idea. Desserts were outstanding, even if we only had two. Opera cake(complete with raspberry sauce treble clef!) and crème brûlée were attacked judiciously once they hit the table and I nursed my stomach with a cognac before heading to the bathroom to avoid going into a food coma. The bathrooms are past a spacious bar behind the hostess desk and surprisingly posh once you get in. Or, at least as posh as a bathroom can be. If there are any knocks against Cadot, they are few and far between. I’m not sure if I saw a manager on duty in the dining rooms, but there had to be one somewhere. And… that actually might be it, and that probably doesn’t even count since I’m sure someone in charge had to be on the property and I just didn’t see them. So yeah, forget what I said about possible problems here. But don’t forget about giving Cadot a shot in the near future! So few reviews for a place that does such great business, and has for years, can be a bit misleading. Trust me when I say Cadot is a solid fixture of the north Dallas area and deserves to be experienced.

Came here for the Cadillac Lunch for Restaurant Week. The pre-fixe menu this year offered chicken crepes in veloute sauce, the hamburger steak, and a cast of desserts. As we arrived, we were immediately greeted by chef Jean Cadot. The owner was at the host table. He adorned glasses and was in his white chef uniform. It felt nice to be greeted by the owner himself. The staff has been very hospitable given my guests have flip-flopped and had changed their reservations many times from yes to no within the past weeks; so i appreciate their patience. The server took our orders, we went for the chicken crepes, she had the crème brûlée, salad and I had the tart and salad. The chicken crepes were delicious. The crepes where light and airy. A light yellow color with good brown color as well. Inside were bits of chicken. The veloute was rich, a beautiful brown color. As for the salad and the dessert, both were a bit underwhelming. Nonetheless the chicken crepes were good enough. Overall, it was a good lunch. I’d give it 3.5 stars if i could but i rounded up because the service was pretty good.

For an expensive dining expensive, this is a 3.5-star rating(rounded up to 4). Service was very attentive without being suffocating. Food had some hits and some that was just average for a restaurant in this price-category. We started off the mussels as an appetizer and had halibut, paella and bone-in ribeye for our entrees. And then rounded out the meal with some beignets. The mussels were quite good and might have been what we enjoyed the most… we used bread to lap up the remaining sauce. Halibut seemed good as the person who ordered it finished her entire plate and she does not do that very often. Paella was just average, but I guess that’s what we get for ordering Paella at a French restaurant. The bone-in ribeye was tasty, but there are many other expensive restaurants where I’ve had much much better. For dessert we had the beignets(note: if you want the soufflé for dessert, you’ll need to order it early as it take 45 minutes to prep). The beignets came out hot and fluffy/airy and came with 3 dipping sauces(chocolate, vanilla and raspberry). 8 beignets come out with one order… so it’s easy to share.
