The cafeteria style restaurant served up white tablecloth quality food. Very delicious. The fried fish and macaroni and cheese were my favorite items.

Great food. Slow service. It took 20 minutes to serve 3 people during lunch on a Friday. Would go again but only if there is no line. Some of the best chicken and yams I’ve ever had. Ask about specials because they sometimes have new items.

So I was at «The Fox’s Ass» this weekend aka Fox Hills Mall or Westfield Culver City if you’re fancy… And of course the foodie in me could not wait to hit the food court after a hard day of shopping. I was confused on where to go but then I figured I’ll hit up Café Creole. I decided on the baked wing dinner. I love, love, love they’re Macaroni & cheese to the moon and they’re baked wings. I got a side of greens with that along with dirty rice and a cornbread muffin. I got all that for under 10 bucks… can you say WINNING??? Finally there’s a soul food spot in this mall and I feel right at home. The staff is so cool and there’s also a new location in Baldwin Hills as well. I do want to say that I’ve enjoyed the items that I’ve had, however it can be on the salty side at times and that is why I don’t go but once in a while. This time was cool, but my previous experience the food was so salty, I wanted to tell the manager about it and I’m not one to complain unless it’s serious. Focus on using creole spices and herbs and be easy with that salt, the flavors will come through.

I normally avoid any mall food court like the plague. Had my daughter with me while shopping and she was hungry, so off to the food court we go. I decided what the hell I’ll give this place a try. Ordered the mac & cheese, yams and fried cat fish. The mac and cheese was not good enough to be charged an extra $ 1 for it. The food was not bad it was just ok. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again. Although I might give it another try and get one of the Po Boys.

Had a pretty good experience here last week. After looking at my Mall food options, and being a lover and former resident of NOLA, I decided to give this place a try. Definitely one of the better mall eats! Service was fast and friendly and I notice this place always seems to have the shortest lines — even though it’s one of the better eats. Strange. What I ordered: Shrimp Po Boy — I wouldn’t say it’s as good as an original NOLA style one but it’s also a bit different in design altogether. The bread was a *bit* too garlic-y for my personal taste; giving me some kicking breath for a few hours after. The sauce they use is definitely NOT the traditional horseradish/ketchup/mayo mix but it was tasty anyway. Great portion of fresh shrimp on the sandwich and perfect amount of pickles. All and all I’d order it again. I saw some people mention to order the Mac and Cheese. I’ll be trying it next time I eat here for sure. There breakfast choices looked really freakin good as well. Final Verdict: If you’re at the mall and don’t feel like waiting in an never-ending line, want to eat food sans a plastic taste or a Prop 65 sign — then this place is for you! :) It really is tasty!

It was just alright.. Just alright.. Probably wouldn’t return.. I ordered the creole combo dinner and ½ chicken plate. The taste was just ok, the portions was just ok. Nothing really to write home about.

The food is great, Mac and cheese is really good, corn bread is good too. Fried chicken and gumbo is good. I wish they had a real restaurant outside of the mall. The mall is so loud and crowded.

Mac & cheese is to DIE for. Like, if I were on my deathbed I’d ask for a side of Café Creole’s Mac & cheese and would pass away a happy, happy foodie. Grilled chicken wings are seasoned nicely. Yams are sweet and delicious; not too sweet. This is a mall location(Westfield Culver City), right next to California Steak & Fries, which I also love dearly. Yum. Nom nom nom nom :)

As far as mall food goes the food is excellent. This is serious restaurant worthy food. I’ve been to New Orleans and I can honestly say it’s not too far off from authentic Cajun Food. The mac n cheese is really good. The service is a little slow but the young man who served me was very polite and very professional. Once they get their efficiency down, as well as tighten up on the presentation(of the food) they are going to be unstoppable. Really good food, can’t beat restaurant quality food at reasonable prices. This is date worthy, cater worthy, take it home and pretend you cooked it to impress your lady food. Do this.

Not sure what everyone is complaining about the service. The server I had was actually really nice. :) They even apologized for the wait which wasn’t too bad. Plus I’d rather have my food freshly cooked than sitting under a lamp for lord knows how long. I got the shrimp po boy. Fried, of course. Because nothing screams southern cookin than delicious delicious fried food… Man I miss home. It was actually really good to my surprise. Food court food? Come on. And I’ve tried other places that claim to be Cajun food. Let’s not go there. Prices are what you’d usually pay at any restaurant for these types of foods. Also got yams and I’m looking forward to trying out more later! I also get a free banana pudding with check in! What!!! I know right? These people know the way to a girls heart. Banana!!!

First time in the Fox Hills mall and needless to say this was my introduction to Café Creole located in the food court. I just recently returned from a work trip in New Orleans so I was still chasing my Louisiana cuisine fix. So my belly lit up when I stumbled upon this eatery tucked in the corner of the court. I ordered the fried shrimp po boy and there was nothing ‘po’ about it considering it was rich with flavor!!! The shrimp was so tender and fried to perfection and the creole sauce was delicious. Only thing I would tweak is a little more sauce on the bread so it will be less dry but that’s an easy fix and just ask for extra creole sauce and do it yourself! The manager Keith is very accommodating! Oh and do yourself a favor and order the banana pudding for dessert! The extra touch of cinnamon was a hit! If I didn’t live so far I’d go back today for another po boy!

I’ve been to Nawlins and have had their po’ boys. While these may be a little different, I actually like them better. It is hard to find a place that sells po’ boys and good ones too! They even have Oyster which was huge in New Orleans. I’m a fan of this place. Yes, it’s a food court spot. Yes, you’re in a mall, but who cares? It’s good eats and the rest of the places in the food court pale in comparison to this one. I sometimes want to tell those people waiting in the huge Panda Express line, «Come over this way. It’s better.» The mac and cheese here is absolutely delicious. Seasoned cheesy goodness. Not that gooey crap you get at supermarkets. We’re talking genuine authentic baked mac and cheese, folks. Southern Style. Do not walk away from this place without trying a small side of it. Overall, tasty and delicious. Service is kind of meh, but I’m not expecting stellar service in a mall. Huge kudos to this place for having fried AND grilled shrimp po’ boys. So very few places do that. And yes, an authentic po’ boy is typically with friend shrimp, but my tummy can’t handle the fried food, so I am thankful for the option. After spending $ 150 at Target when you went in there to only spend $ 30, go ahead and treat yourself to a meal from this place to ease the guilt. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Ambiance: 2.5÷5 — it’s located in a food court, however the food court is pretty. Felt very modern and not dingy. Service: For a food court vendor, it was about a 10 minute wait, which is quite long for fast food. Food/pricing — I paid $ 12.99 for a combo, which may seem like a lot for fast food, but it was a lot of food and was made to order. It was 2 deep fried shrimp, 2 deep fried oysters, 2 deep fried wings and 2 deep fried fish(I think it was catfish) along with two sides(I got rice and veggies). So it’s not a bad price at all. What I liked the most were the oysters and the fish. Very fresh and tasty. All the items were nicely breaded and I don’t think they were over seasoned like some people say. Keep in mind, I’ve never had New Orleans cuisine before and this just may be my lack of experience speaking. Verdict: Good option in the mall that’s different from your standard fast food Asian and burgers.

It was by chance that we decided to eat here. I was starving amd we headed off to the food court and as soon as we walked off the escalators we could smell the aroma coming from Café Creole. I believe it was the Rotisserie Chicken we were smelling. The bf and I were sampling the gumbo, but were enticed by the Chicken Wings and the Yams. So, we ordered that instead along with their Chicken Rice. I think I give all the credit to the bf for this one because he really knew how to order. This was indeed the best meal combination we had from a food court restaurant. The Wings: Juicy, spicy and full of flavor Yams: Just right! Sweet, but not too sweet. Tender but not mushy. Chicken Rice: Yum-O. Well done, wish I knew the recipe. Sad that they were all out of Peach Cobbler. We figured that if they were out by 4pm on a Sunday, it must be good. Can’t wait to come back and try it! #393

I actually think the food at Café Creole is pretty solid(a 3.5, so I’m rounding up). For mall food(located inside Westfield Culver City), it’s a step up. The rotisserie chicken is bomb(I’d give that five stars alone). As for the sides, they were good(not excellent, but good). So far, I’ve tried the chicken rice, beans and rice, yams, and greens. I’ve yet to be disappointed. Oh wait, I had the mac n’ cheese before, too. It wasn’t bad, but something was off… can’t call it. Overall, I’d come back… I want to try their gumbo. Some folks in line had samples and said it was pretty good. I’m not sure if they were just saying that because they were right in front of the owner… I guess I’d have to find out for myself.

Been looking for a place that makes some good chicken and waffles. Unfortunately when I saw the type of waffles they make I made a different choice of food… Everything is buffet style laying out in heating pans in the front but served by a front desk person. Clearness from what I could tell was up to par and display of the food/advertising was very good. I got the 6 piece baked chicken with coleslaw and mashed potatoes. The chicken: Chicken was overly seasoned with salt and pepper but cooked properly. But was incredibly greasy. The mashed potatoes: Fresh, obviously made from real potatoes. Didn’t have much flavor to them, quite bland. Coleslaw: Not even sure if they should even call it coleslaw because it’s not. Overall the customer service was great. Staff was nice and the chicken was average. I wouldn’t say it’s good or bad. Just in the middle. They need a better cook and different recipes if there going to plan on making it.

There are several amazingly good fried chicken places within five miles. This is not one of them. To start off with, the service is amazingly slow for a food court. There were three people working there and only one person in line in front of me, and yet it still took a good 10 minutes to get my food. I know the place is new, but there’s just no sense of organization whatsoever. I don’t see this improving. On to the food – I ordered the 2 piece white meat meal for $ 6. Not a bad price, or so I thought. But nothing that came with the meal was even tasty. You can choose from«smoky fried», «hickory BBQ», or «jerk» flavor. The fried was ok, but as I said above, that just doesn’t cut it when there are at least four awesome places nearby. The jerk was not jerk. It was just roast chicken with no flavor whatsoever. The fries looked nicely fried, but tasted like nothing at all. The cornbread was a tiny bite-sized piece of so-so bread. And the«salad» was some lettuce and tomatoes. Period. Not even any dressing. So yeah, I’m not going back.

Recent addition to the food court at the Fox Hills Mall [I guess its called Westfield Culver City now — my bad]. Vast menu of southern cooking — gumbo, po boys, fried chicken I ordered half a fried chicken meal. Came with: 1. Half fried chicken 2. Salad — Spicy ranch dressing 3. Fries Total was a little over $ 7. Lots of food for that price. The chicken was tasty and crunchy [straight off the fryer]. I’ll ask for their hot sauce next time. The fries were actually pretty good too. Really full from this meal. Looking forward to trying the other things on the menu
