Good Coffee, but even better views. Mt. Baker and Whidbey island shoreline stretch out from the dock, making the coffee just that much better! Seemed to be a locals place, and the man who took my order was very nice. Apple Danish is my favorite! Only bummer is the amount of foam with my latte! Otherwise a great little coffee shop! Would definitely recommend.

OK cappuccinos. Foam was foamier than I like. I wasn’t a huge fan of the scones. The location at the end of the pier is fantastic though.

what a beautiful place to enjoy a coffee. On Sunday I was so looking forward to a wonderful cup of coffee, however I did not receive one. I ordered a soy latte. My first sip was my last as it was scorching hot. When you heat soy milk up to that point it ruins it. I went back in and said it was way to hot and I would like another one made. She said I would have to wait as she was busy.(there were 2 other people in there and she was just finishing making their drinks. I said no problem and sat down. She then said to me she could put some ice cubes in my drink, otherwise she would just have to dump it down the drain!!! come on ice cubes in a already burned cup of coffee is not going to help. I could tell by her attitude she was not going to make it right. I got up and left and threw my 5 dollar cup of coffee in the garbage. Should have instead that she either make it over or give me my money back, but was not in the mood anymore to deal with it. I will never go back here. what happen to customer service and satisfaction!

Cozy coffee shop at the end of the pier in downtown Coupeville. They offer a good selection of coffee drinks and a handful of pastries. The shop also sells a number of Whidbey Island food and wine products which make nice souvenirs.

Walked here after checking out Coupeville. We ordered coffee and a cheese scone. One of the best scones ever. The owner was very nice and had a nice chat with him. They have a little dog hanging out in the shop, a King Charles, he was quite cute and quiet. Great place to just hang out.

I liked the coffee, they don’t have ice FYI, and I liked that it was in a cool building at the end of the pier. Bought some super tasty raspberry mustard here too, yumm.

I love this place for many reasons. William is truly lovely. He’s knowledgable, he works hard and he has great customer service skills. I really enjoy chatting with him on my coffee breaks. The location is fantastic, if you like coffee with a view, this is your kind of place. I love that it’s a local shop. I think supporting local businesses as a member of the community or as a tourist is important. It’s hard to break the chains. I am definitely a Starbucks junky but if every town had a place like this I would certainly break away. I also love that the coffee is good. Better than good. I’ve had way too many mediocre cups of expensive coffee for my liking. The shop also sells local goodies, which is a nice and tasty touch. I would highly recommend stopping in.

I spent the whole day driving around the island looking for a quiet place to think. I finally found this little gem. It’s small and there are only a few tables but it he ambience is wonderful. There is great nautical artwork and photos on the walls, and they sell all kinds of island made goodies. The owner is a really kind man who cheerfully made me the most delicious drink, vanilla almond milk with a little chai – he calls it the Elizabethan. I stayed to watch the sunset over the water with my hot cup in my hands and listened to the quiet. It was absolutely perfect.

One of the first places to open in the sleepy little town of Coupville. Come here for some decent espresso made with local organic milk or just some brewed coffee and a locally baked danish. Then step outside sit back and watch the mist clear off of penn cove… Absolutely lovely.

Recc’d by a local we met on the street. Very personable owner. Great coffee. Had a triple tall Americano, daughter had a mocha. Uses organic milk products from Whidbey. Nice touch.

This is my favorite coffee shop — and I don’t even drink coffee! I always come here when I need a warm drink — he has all local coffee, and all the merchandise in his shop is local as well. Wine, soap, syrups, jams, sauces, cds, posters, art, coffee, mugs, and toffee! Great spot, too! Well worth the walk out on the warf :)

What a charming establishment! A better location cannot possibly be found for viewing the scenery — but, if that were all there was to Local Grown, I would not bother to leave a review. I ordered my standard, an Americano, which was perfect. The owner was in the process of making the breakfast goodies fresh when I got there, so how could I resist a biscotti? Full of nuts and dried fruit, a true treat. Last, his conversation and charm made me want to sit down and stay longer than I could. Go there and sit a bit. It’s worth it!

Great coffee, local history and the ocean. You can find all of these things at Local Grown. This coffeeshop sits at the very end of Coupeville’s barn-red historic Wharf, an icon on Whidbey Island since 1905. The walk down the pier, especially in the morning, is breathtaking; often, the picturesque Mt. Baker can be seen dominating the view to the east. Sitting there sipping coffee, surrounded by the ocean, I have yet to experience a better location for a coffeeshop. The shop itself is very cozy, almost rustic with it’s wood floors and tables. Nautical knickknacks decorate the walls, as well as a few historic photos on loan from the local museum. The café sells locally made goods, like locally roasted coffee, lavender scented candles, and some local artwork. Last, Local Grown wouldn’t have it’s charm without the man who runs it. William Bell has kind eyes and a warm laugh which have endeared many to him and his coffeeshop. Local Grown is well worth the walk down the pier and it earns my highest rating.
