I go through Tailors like crazy. These guys have expert knowledge and do a great job. Today my buttons fell off of my tuxedo and I needed it for a wedding! They dropped everything and sewed them back on while I waited. They even endured my kids loud complaining. Great job!

Unlike most alteration places, they ARE open on MONDAYS! This was actually the reason I came in here b/c Be’s Perfect Alterations, which is my favorite & across the street, was closed. I needed a simple cocktail dress altered for an out of town wedding the following week, so I needed to get to an alteration place pronto. The dress was a light pink with a seam under the chest area, which is the area I needed taken in so it didn’t hang low and show too much — keep it classy! The price she quoted was higher than I’ve paid for bridesmaid dress alterations and more than the dress itself cost… I tried negotiating but she wouldn’t budge and being I was in a rush and had no other options, I agreed. Your required to PAYFIRST. This should of been a sign. When I went to pick up the dress and tried it on, I was no happy. The seam wasn’t sown straight and the top was still pretty big, which defeated the purpose of paying double what the dress cost for the alteration. I explained that I was upset and the lady was pretty much just arguing with me so I took the dress and left. I ended up having to add black ribbon from another dress along the seam to cover up the bad sew job and pin the top so it didn’t hang too low. I won’t be back here.

I had to get my work uniform altered and just decided to pick something close to home since my regular dry cleaner’s alteration specialist wasn’t in. I had a skirt, a blouse and a blazer to get taken in. The workmanship was ok, but wow are they expensive. $ 165 later and I have an ok fitting uniform. I would expect exceptional work for that price — a little disappointed.

They can charge a steeper price than most — but they are knowledgeable and capable. So, sometimes, its better to pay for the quality. They do offer parking in the back — lots of parking in the back so if the front spots are taken — just cruise down the little alley — its a short walk to the front of the building — very little hassle if the spots are taken in the front.

I am always searching for a great tailor that doesn’t rip you off or wreck your clothes. It seems as though it is either one or the other. I tried this one this past week to alter 2 dresses. One was simple one was a bit more work but definitely an easy job. They were done as promised at 12 p.m. on the dot, today. I went in at 11:35 but they weren’t done yet. I was charged $ 60 for the 2 alterations. Kind of steep considering what I had done. I felt better when I saw all of the Christmas cards from their customers hanging around the shop. Many of my friends use their services, I recognized their cards! One big bummer… they have 3 parking spots in front of the store. Most times they are taken and they(the spots) are up against 17th street. That means you have to pull out backwards onto 17th. Which if you know 17th… not so easy or safe.
