Hurley International

I have been coming to the Hurley warehouse/​friends and family store for a long time now. I have gone to many of the sales and spent large sums of money there over the past year. I made a large purchase back in July of this year and a couple of weeks after the purchase I noticed that a couple of the items just wouldn’t work for me. I awaited another invite to a sale to go back and exchange the unused items. I was waiting for the sale so I would be able to exchange these items for something that was also on sale. A couple of months went by without another invite. I called headquarters last week and spoke with someone at reception and I explained my situation. She stated that the people in the employee sale should be able to help me out. I was transferred to the employee store and was told there was nothing that could be done since the return policy is 30 days. I was not seeking a refund so I thought that an exchange would not be an issue. Keep in mind that all three items were not worn and were fully tagged. I came to the store thinking that someone would be able to help in some way. I was wrong. After speaking to an employee and that same employee speaking to their manager, I was told that I could not exchange for anything and I would not get a refund either. Very surprised and disappointed.
In age were customer service rains supreme I felt quite let down by a company that I have supported since the 90’s when I was a young boy. When Hurley’s parent company has yearly revenues of over $ 25 billion, I didn’t think my $ 100 exchange would cause such an issue.
When Nordstrom has a much better return policy and superior customer service in comparison to the manufacturer, there is an issue. You would assume that Hurley would prefer people to purchase directly from them to increase their margins but their policies force people to look elsewhere.

Hurley is a staple of our community in the OC and is true blessing to so many people all over the world who sport there gear and who are supported in the various Hurley Sponsered sports such as my favorite surfing, I really have a soft spot in my heart and a compassion for the amazing grace of the Hurley company for allowing the First Love Church worship there, for we don’t have a building of our own and by the grace of God through Hurley and it’s founders and officers let us use a space there and my son came to believe because he is a die hard surfer and loyaly Hurley gromm because he loved the location lol, i thank God for your company and it’s family of loyal employees who make the company great, thank you Bob Hurley!

I recently visited the Hurley HQ for the Melali: The Drifter Sessions Premier that Rob Machado x Hurley put together. I had never been to this location before and was surprised to see that they own a whole warehouse area with around 10 detached buildings that have been converted to really sick looking offices. With an impressive setup including a basketball court, brand new Apple computers and branding galore, I was in Hurley-​land.
After following the sounds of noise, showing up a bit late I ended up at what I’ll refer to as the «Fun House.» This place has a projector the size of a smart car, a huge screen and it built for band and audio visual events. The place was packed but Hurley setup the area to cater to people that could and could not fit inside the Fun House.
While Rob Machado and company were doing a live score to the movie for the premier, Happa J’s was hand making tortillas for tacos to feed the crowd under Hurley pop-​ups.
The area itself was branded in the typical Hurley fashion, by covering everything within sight.
Great event, awesome company and a killer event. I’ll be on the lookout for any future events and be sure to attend them all.
