There’s usually a cover of $ 2. So, downstairs! There’s pool tables and karaōke. I’ve done karaōke once, and it moves pretty quickly and is casual enough. The emcee is a little… unique, but after a few drinks, he fades into the background. The crowd is also usually fun and encouraging, so that’s nice. Yes, the bar is typically crazy busy, but the bartenders are usually very nice and the drinks are cheap. It can be hard to find a table after 11pm though. Upstairs! On a not-busy night, you can just go straight up from the bottom. You can count on the dancefloor to be mostly empty, maybe like 2 groups of friends, if you’re lucky, with a few bystanders lining the walls and just looking around. The DJ is a nice guy, but he might wanna work on the music aspect of the gig. He’s alright though. Unfortunately though, on a busy night, you have to go BACKOUTSIDE and wait in a line to use a separate entrance. Which sucks because it’s Oregon and cold. But luckily the upstairs is pretty big and there’s a second bar upstairs.

Seems like people reviewing the cock are confused. It’s the most frequented and largest dive bar in town, therefore it’s gonna be busy. Bad service? Credit that to the bartenders not being able to pee or drink a glass of water while dealing with dumb college kids barking orders at them. Have I had to wait a long time to get a drink? Yes, because they were slammed. Have I had issues with the bouncers? Of course, but that’s because people I was with are drunk idiots. Most of the KJ’s are great, most of the bartenders are kind, caring people who try their hardest to get you your drink, and the bouncers are just doing their fucking job. I respect everyone who works at the peacock, and you should too.

I ordered breakfast for carryout and found their menu and service to be just fine – especially the pre-10 a.m. $ 2 biscuits and gravy. We also got a loaded omelette for about $ 8. These both came with home fries and did the job of feeding our faces without any hassle.

Absolute worst, most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. I go there for western Wednesdays but I will never go back because of the horrible and rude staff!!! I guess they want young girls standing outside in the rain by themselves. I went downstairs to use the restroom and the bald man working the stairs doesn’t BOTHER to tell you that you have to wait in an hour long line in the rain to get back in if you go downstairs. He was doing absolutely nothing when I went downstairs, he was standing there not doing his job. When I asked him if he could possibly let me back up to be with my friends he refused. I said«why didn’t you tell me when I came down that I wouldn’t be able to come back up?» He said«uhh well its hard to tell everyone.» I CAMEDOWNBYMYSELF! ITSNOTLIKEHEWASSWAMPED. I am VERY unimpressed with that horrible place. Will never go back. Good luck to everyone that does.

The«Cock» as it is referred to on the streets of Corvallis was mediocre at best. I ordered the Ham Scram and I must say, I was tickled. The ham was golden brown with a hint of maple and the eggs were elegantly fluffy. However, my dear friend order the simplest dish on the menu, a short stack of hotcakes and was thoroughly disappointed. Now these hotcakes were not only late upon arrival to our table, but moreover, they were burnt. My friend described the taste as the inside of a tailpipe of an old jalopy. If you find yourself in a pinch on a rainy day and need a quick eat, don’t be ashamed of «hopping on the cock», but stay clear of the short stack!

Sticky floors, bad music, smells funny, I’m only giving this 2 stars for the cheap food and the games.

Worst experience ever! Coffee served with a lipstick covered cup. Took over 1 hour and 20 minutes to get food. Two omelets served with ½ omelets, charged full price. Wrong omelet served to me, charged for a more expensive omelet. Ordered before 10am to get the pricing on 2×2. We were charged full price. Worked with the waitress to get a price adjustment on the bill. after three time still wrong bill. Our waitress had one excuse after another. Just gave up and I suggest you never give in and avoid the place!

OMG What an awful experience! We waited for every single item and didn’t get served until one hour and 20 minutes after ordering… Oh yeah we waited to get service or be recognized too. One coffee cup had lipstick on it, the boys got ½ of an omelet… One half! So weird. Charged for full omelet, however. Another omelet was served and it was huge and not the omelet ordered, but a more expensive one with the wrong stuff in it. Our waitress couldn’t stop telling us that this was her first breakfast –she normally works nights. What difference that makes I cannot figure out. Finally got the cream for coffee and we hadn’t gotten refills of coffee, finally got food and didn’t have silverware. No jam, no knives and no tip, never did that before. Oh I forgot we got the wrong bill way more than it should have been– computer didn’t work, or the waitress didn’t work –that took at least 15 more minutes. Just paid it and got the heck outta there. This was a favorite place in college so very disappointed.

Great place for early birds. Two pancakes two eggs any style and to pieces of protein for 3.99 before 10 am! Western Wednesday’s are pretty fun but I like hanging out downstairs at the karaōke bar.

I heard this place was a really fun dive bar and I wasn’t really impressed with anything. Drinks were fine, nothing super exciting.

The bouncers seem over zealous and certainly more welcoming to their regular«townie» crowd. A friend was banned for life because of an argument with a bartender a week before at a different bar. Also, have been kicked out myself for taking a single french fry off an abandoned plate left at the bar. Cheap drinks with a very rough-neck crowd. Really only worth it if you’re trying to save money and don’t care about the environment you’re drinking in.

Last time I went was during the summer, and pretty early with no fee. Yesterday night, I went around 10:30pm. There was a fee for $ 2 to get in and get stamped! Cash preferably. After waiting for my friends to all gather up, we went up to the dance floor — and man, it was so crowded! They also have a bar up there as well, and the bartenders are pretty quick with refilling the water. Drinks were spilled upon the dance floor, and it can get sticky– even glass being shattered, with everyone bringing their drinks and dancing. Although the DJ should update his music, it was fun~

Hi Steph and Eric! ;) Wow this is long overdue! So, a large number of years ago, I used to sing karaōke here regularly. I never had any money, and that seems to be the most important thing at most bars these days«Well hey, everyone else is doing it,» not how much you contribute to a show, promote it, or give the customers there an enjoyable time. M O N E Y. And they rake it in hand over fist here. Anyways, so the awesome bouncer guy with the grim countenance, dumb hairdos, and probably PTSD, Eric(or whatever his name is) before he worked there I was outside of Platinum with a couple guys, who despite my plea to relocate to the alley insisted they were cool enough to roast a bowl in front, and he rolls up all«Got a toke for the bouncer,» anyways, now he works for the super drug intolerant Steph, and a couple times I caught him stalking where me and friends were blazing nearby and sniffing the air. So, one day I talked a customer into coming out if I roasted him one, and he hit me up for it, so I dragged him around back by the Majestic back door to make good on my promise. Well, this hypocrite Eric decided he’d follow me all the way around, nearly a block walking distance from the entrance of the place, and boot me. This ban has been in place 7 years(maybe 8), and despite the fact that I used to kinda be friends with Steph, you know, she doesnt like to overturn bans enforced by the bouncers when they decide they dont like someone and are determined to remove them by any means nessecary. And of course, Billy, one of the biggest stoners around, who doesnt work at this Cock anymore(I dont think) and who had previously said I was his absolute favorite singer there, totally refused to even talk to me about it. So dont even whisper about ever having done anything drug related in Steph’s earshot, and make sure you gladhand all the bouncers, or they may decide to take on a vendetta. Well, Eric will probably ‘kick my ass” of he hears about this, but I suppose the law might have a thing or two to say about that. P. S. Oh! And I just remembered how she fired a really nice KJ there for getting her name confused, and for promoting«Gary the Retard» from Howard Stern. Good job staying PC there, Steph. Oh, not to mention the guy who got beat up by Andrew and Eric who said he could have sued them for a shit ton, and probably owned that fucking dive bar. Man, I love my memory sometimes.

Was there yesterday and wow it was bad! Definitely have had better experiences. We didn’t stay long and left after 15 minutes. Don’t waste your time people. Haven’t been there during the day so I cannot speak about the quality of the food but I wouldn’t have high expectations.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Oh so many college(and shortly thereafter) memories here. First of all, I’ve had some fantastic cocktail servers there. There have also been some seriously creepy bouncers. They have the best setup for karaōke I’ve seen. However, the KJ(it was both Patches and Squig-E when I still lived in C-town, now just Squig-E) is typically on the lecherous end. Drinks are good, varied. Granted, I’m not a big fan of clubbing(limited rhythm) in the first place, but I’ve never been a fan of «the top of the cock.» A few months ago my college pals and I reunited in Corvallis, and had to come back here since it was our main spot. We had a fantastic time – and there were a few staff that still remember us 4 years later. Oh, Corvallis.

Just got home from the Peacock Bar and Grill. I decided to get on here and write my review while it’s still fresh. Where do I even begin? This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had going to a bar in quite some time. The bartender that made my drink was extremely rude. I found dirt in my drink and gave it back, asking for a new drink(I hadn’t drank any of it) but I was told to go somewhere else. After trying to plead my case with them they eventually threw me out. Doubt I’ll be going back to Peacock again.

I came here for drinks and snacks, and can’t wait to come back to hang out again soon. Pool tables and plenty of character + great food = perfect local watering hole. I hear the burgers are great. I loved the fried mushrooms! :) Looking forward to my next visit.

After reading this review, I’m glad I was too(drunk… tired… distracted ;-) ;-) to realize there was an UPstairs. That part sounds terrible. but downstairs was awesome. Between dancing to the live band(my partner turned out to be a former olympian in rhythmic gymnastics which explains why I(a) couldn’t walk the next day and(b) was too distracted to notice there was an upstairs) and going head-to-head in big buck hunter(they have two!) with my buds, «one drink» turned into walking out at the closing bell. Absolutely on my list for my next post-game partying. Go Beavs.(except against UCLA… sorry)
