Great food, with variety of options. Service is good but could be a little bit quicker. Over all would highly recommend.

This is the worst smash burger, the management is unprofessional and rude. The store is poorly managed and dirty. They advertise milk shakes that they never have. Don’t waste your time or your money, go to Five Guys instead. I would rate this location –5 stars

First and last time I will go to a Smashburger. Food was cold when it was brought to the table. And if that was the big burger I received I’m pretty sure I would have left hungrier than when I came in if I ordered the small. I think Five Guys down the road is by far better than Smashburger.

They started out good after their grand opening, but have quickly declined. The burgers and portions seem to be shrinking, and they’re not so generous with the shakes. The burgers aren’t as juicy and even the«big» burger gets lost in the bun. They’re way over priced for what you get. There are much better burgers in the area, including Chili’s and maybe even 5 guys. And 5 Guys has MUCH better fries.

1 star bc the food is decent and pretty much consistent with the other locations. I would give no stars for the staff and customer service, they all act like someone is forcing them to be there and work and literally not one person even fakes a smile when asked a question or ordering. After ordering a plain burger to eat in, my fiancé went up to just confirm that he ordered no toppings bc in the past they have gotten our orders wrong, more than twice, the staff was baffled and had to question him twice«you don’t want nothing on it? Nothing?» And he confirmed no just a plain hamburger on a bun. Well of course they brought us a cheeseburger with the works on it and when he immediately said no I specifically asked for no toppings and a plain hamburger the woman said to us well you need to specify that when ordering and order correctly. HA! We were both speechless. Not an apology or even apologetic tone, We were reprimanded and blamed for«not ordering correctly». Umm ok? We love smash burger but this location is lacking in customer service and we literally feel uncomfortable going there for what should be an easy nice experience.

Should have checked Unilocal before coming here. My husband I were out running errands on the late side and didn’t feel like cooking at home or sitting at a restaurant for an hour. We had never been to a Smashburger but thought it would suit our needs for quick meal. Nothing went horribly wrong we just weren’t impressed about any aspect of the meal– service was fine but not the friendliest and the employees couldn’t muster any enthusiasm. The space itself needed to be cleaned — straws and napkins on the floor, tables that weren’t wiped down etc. We shared a bacon avocado ranch burger and got smash fries and onion petals on the side. We also split an oreo shake. The burger was good but nothing special, the sides were both very salty and greasy. I don’t usually find much too salty for me but both items were just too much, especially the sauce with the onion petals which I usually love at other places. The smash fries… they weren’t joking when they said there was olive oil. Whoever made ours used a heavy hand and turned our supposed to be crispy fries into a greasy soggy puddle. Won’t be back.

Worst customer service ever. 4 out of 5 people in a family get served when I approach the manager about what is happening with my 6 year old daughters dinner because at this point the rest of us are halfway through our meal and she has yet to be served. His response was aggressive telling me the buns are being defrosted(signs say fresh but the buns are frozen?) when I ask just bring her something else. He agrees and when he drops off the meal he mumbles under his breath sorry and throws some half off coupons on the table. I will never go back.

Big mistake giving this dump a second chance. After not being to impressed a few moths ago, i decided to give it another go and go for 2 burgers to take-out. I have never been so angered by a restaurant. The place had a few tables eating and a hand full of people waiting for take out. Basically not busy at all. The bald joker cooking in the kitchen spent more time slagging off other burger joints in the area, than he did getting the correct orders out, for the tables waiting. He got all the orders wrong so they all went back to the kitchen to do them again, this happened a few times. People waiting for take-out had to take a back seat while he tried time and time again to get the orders right. 40 mins later i get my order of 2 burgers and 2 fries, no big ask. I checked the fries right away and they were stone cold and dry. I demanded new fries. Bald man apologized and blamed it on the kitchen being backed up. There were 2 cooks in the Kitchen and i look around and there are a hand full of customers, how the hell can this cause a kitchen back-up? Instead of cooking and doing his job, the cook thought it would be more important to joke around and mouth off. It got so out of hand the girl taking the orders had to leave the register to help in the Kitchen. This place is a friggin joke. Better off going to Five Guys up the road. Ya, one of the places that the cook was slagging off.

So I have been 5 times at Cortland’s Smashburger & never have disappointed. The food is great & so is the staff especially today. The host’s name is Nicholos. Very Sweet & never stop working. Cashier, cleaning & waiter all combined. Manager was also very nice.

3rd time I ordered and paid for bacon on my burger and didn’t get it. First time they didn’t make me a fresh one just put cold bacon on the one I already but into. Second time I checked and had it put on before I took a bite. This time I got all the way home and checked… no bacon. It’s not that hard. Oh and the fries were ice cold. I’m done, I’ll go to the one in rockland this place sucks go to Wendy’s or micky ds or BK they are all right near it don’t pay double for less.

Love the Smash. Menu always confuses me because everything is all so good. Milk shakes are killer as are pesto fries. You can get a beer if you need one. McDs can’t do that.

Family ordered burger, smash fries, and shakes. I am unimpressed. The meat on the burger was greasy and tasteless. The fixings on the bun were tasty and the bun was fresh and soft. The fried were old — tasted like they had been around awhile. The best part of the meal were the shakes. They were the highlight and priced right.

Had a decent experience at Smashburger around 2pm on a Saturday. Came in, waited about five or so minutes to order. Our food started to come out less than five minutes after we sat down with our number. I was a little annoyed that they brought our burgers separately, because I had to sit there and wait before boyfriend’s came out, but they came out so quickly that I shouldn’t complain. While we were ordering, I noticed that one of the screens above the registers was already broken. The picture was distorted like an iPhone screen that had been dropped one too many times. I got the avocado club burger which comes with lettuce, tomato, bacon, and avocado, with ranch dressing and mayo. I subbed the egg roll for multigrain and added some cheese. My boyfriend had the avocado club chicken sandwich as it was intended, and got grilled(vs. crispy) chicken. Both of the sandwiches were very good. I thought the beef was flavorful, and even though I thought ranch dressing + mayo was a weird combination when I ordered, it was actually really delicious. The grilled chicken was very thin but it tasted great. The big problem is that the burger was extremely greasy. Parts of my bottom bun were completely soaked in grease, and you could see the grease shining off of the rest of the burger. And the grilled chicken was not exempt from the grease. It too was shining with grease. The grease definitely added to the taste of the burger since fat is generally delicious, but it also added an unappetizing pit-in-your-stomach quality to the meal. My burger was also a little structurally unsound. I had trouble keeping the burger, bun, and avocado slices aligned with one another. Part of me wonders if it’s because the grease plus cheese made the burger slip out of its bun. But I also think the cheese helped the bacon stay anchored to the burger, so that was a good call. Finally, we shared the large smash fries, which are essentially fries enhanced with olive oil, rosemary, and garlic(+$.20). They were very savory and not greasy at all(despite the olive oil), but they were so skinny! I think the fries really redefine the term«shoestring» and were not the best vehicles for ketchup. All in all, would definitely try again, maybe at another location. Ditch the grease and I’d definitely give four stars.

I found the food was inconsistent and the staff were unhelpful. I attribute this to the fact that the store just opened. I’ve had smashburger in the city and thought it great so I advised that we go there with some friends. At this location the kids burgers were dry and a bit overdone, mine was dripping grease. Additionally we had to go to go ask for the the sweet potato fries they forgot then seemed confused. Then they brought them out and said they made them to go(even though 8 of us was sitting at a table) and to boot they were sitting on the counter(and were cold). I’ll try it again, maybe after the get their act together. In general i never go to a restaurant within the first month or so because it takes awhile to get in the right groove but i thought a chain restaurant like this would be different. Guess not :(

I ordered take out the other day so my review is based solely on that. Ordered the BBQ, Bacon Cheddar Burger with Smash Fries along with a fountain drink. Buy the time I went to the soda machine, filled up my drink and walked to the take out table top I waited no more than a minute at the table top. I was literally in n out within 5 min. Just as I was about to leave I overheard a mother telling her daughter that the woman making the milk shakes is the slowest milk shake worker she’s ever seen! I live about 10 min away. By time I got home the fries were cooling down but the burger was still warm. Everything was delicious as expected. I will def be back! To those complaining about this place remember 2 things… The just opened a month ago and it’s an upscale(if you want to call it that) fast food… How perfect do you expect it to be?!!

My wife and I have only been to Smash Burger two times and both times we left really disappointed. The first time, my wife waited over 25 minutes for her food which came out wrong. When she asked the manager about it, the employee rolled her eyes and went back to correct it. After another 15 minutes, she had her correct order. The second time, both my wife and I ordered but this time, my wife’s food came in under 5 minutes but my food didn’t come at all. Not only did she send her food back – as again it wasn’t correct – she finished her meal before my food ever came. In the middle of her lunch, my wife asked an employee where my food was, and he said he would check on it. No on came back to tell us when it would be out. We complained to the manager who gave us a refund and some coupons and told us that he «didn’t think it would be this busy» and is «trying to get it together.» I took my food to go There are plenty of other burger joints in the immediate vicinity with better food and much better service. The only redeeming aspect of this place is the black bean burger which is quite good and the build your own aspect. But. Both times my wife built her own, it came out wrong.

Having visited Shake Shack, In & Out Burger, and Five Guys in the last week: Ordered SmashBurger, Smash Sauce on the side, with Buffalo Fries BURGER — juicy, covered the bun, not overcooked, good flavors BUN — Egg bun, soft moist and absorbed natural juices from burger and toppings TOPPINGS — fresh sliced onion(full slice), sliced tomato and pickle chips. Really solid here… FRIES — thinner than Mickey D’s, and crisp, but too thin for my taste and the«buffalo» treatment too salty. Little bit of heat was good. STORE — clean and new, seemed like more employees than needed(more than customers) but cannot complain. Polite and quick. IMHO, better than In & Out, Shake Shack and neck & neck with Five Guys and McDonalds.

The food is 5 stars by far yes it’s packed it’s busy but the food is delicious and not to expensive. My gripe is that the employees need to turn the tables over faster and that’s it. Of course it’s mobbed but they have an app for that. I loved the classic smash and I just got done housing the New Yorker and I loved them both. Don’t have a favorite at this point but if you’ve never been here it’s a great place to start! Don let the line deceive you it really doesn’t take that long. To the couple that told us you’re going to 5 guys, you guys are missing out just sayin.

Ordered take out using their online menu tonight. Boy, looks can be deceiving. I tried to get in and the doorway was mobbed, fire hazard! I went up and gave my name and order number, they said it was going to be a few minutes. Well ½ hour later I finally received the order. Well going out the exit door, which merged into the entrance door again fire hazard! Well anyways, I finally got home to eat, well what a big disappointment. I was expecting a fairly big burger, as the old lady said in the 80’s Wendy’s commercial, where’s the BEEF??? The patty was so small I had more bun than burger. The only thing I have to say was good was the fries. Regarding the service, they need to get their act together, they run around not knowing what is going on and to be honest, to expect them to read orders from tiny writing on an LCD screen is a little to much!!! All in all not impressed!!! Just another small burger with quickie fries!!!
