Much like the other reviews so far, I am thrilled to have met Cheryl. I came to her with a fusion of my lower vertebras and an inflammation of the muscles around my ribs(from really poor posture at the desk). Yet I also wanted to get a real workout and push myself as much as safely possible. Within a month, Cheryl had me back in shape, and I have been able to increase my reps and resistance since then. She has an eagle eye and constantly assesses my body. She keeps introducing just enough exercises to challenge me, while allowing me to see progress on the rest. It’s really fun to come in and treat myself to pilates with Cheryl. Oh, and I forgot the best part: she offers pilates cardio classes! Think mini-trampoline while safely supported on the reformer.

I am new to Pilates and started working with Cheryl two and half months ago. After a unwanted hiatus from an active physical lifestyle, and a lower back that was giving me some pain, I wanted to find someone knowledgeable to work with. First, I love the space. It is warm and inviting. I found her immediately engaging. Initially she conducted a physical assessment(head to toe, how I walked, moved, carried myself, stood, etc.) to have a baseline for working with me. She is aware of my body the entire session. Watching every move, adjusting, cajoling, encouraging, and always asking if I am feeling the stretch or if I am pushing it. Her knowledge of core strength, how the body functions, kinesiology, movement both on the machines and off is wonderful. She elicits trust which is important when learning new process. Our laughter only adds to the experience. It feels good to get my physical confidence back. I thank Cheryl for that. With her guidance anyone can do Strength and Movement. It really is Pilates with Purpose!

I’ve tried Pilates before but have never worked with someone as thorough and knowledgeable as Cheryl. In fact, it was as if I hadn’t really experienced all of what Pilates has to offer before having sessions with her. As a dancer, I’m really picky about who works with my body — from dance teachers to physical and massage therapists. Cheryl knows how the body works and can help you reach your fullest potential. If you want to experience the best, work with Cheryl.

I’ve worked with Cheryl for over a year and have found her to be not only an incredibly knowledgeable teacher, but also a great motivator. Cheryl was able to keep me smiling while at the same time pushing me to become stronger and more flexible. As someone that has trouble getting motivated to workout I actually found myself eagerly anticipating my workouts with Cheryl(2 to 3 times a week). I would and have recommended Cheryl to my friends looking to try Pilates.
