Five days before the graduation party I called to order shanghai rolls. The woman who was supposed to be the one taking orders told me it was too early to order food for the weekend but to call back the morning of the event. I just called and a different woman said no orders for shanghai rolls would be taken today. I explained to her that I tried to place the order five days earlier buy was instructed to call back on the day I wanted the food. She said, too bad, not going to do it. It has always been difficult to deal with Goldilocks for this kind of thing. I don’t know if the language barrier is just too great for the people answering the phone but I don’t think I’ve ever had a smooth transaction with them. However, this is the last straw. I’m done. I will never go back.

The ingredients used are more processed than other local bakeries. Read and compare.

After this experience I will never patronize this establishment again. I ordered a small paksiw lechon and rice. The cashier rang it up as $ 9.00. I said that it was too expensive and that I wanted the order cancelled. She said she couldn’t do that and I needed to pay for it. I didn’t want to make a scene in line so I paid for it.

last night, i went to buy some food items for christmas at this popular filipino bakery. however, the lady who did the salestalk and helped me all the way to the register erroneously sold me two sweet hams instead of one as i requested. i was so in a hurry that night and there were lots of customers thats why i didnt think about it while at the store. it was only when i got home that i realized indeed, there were two hams in the plastic bag no wonder why the total amount of purchase seems high. being cognizant that you cannot return any sold food items even though untouched, i took my chances and went back to the store, not to argue or blame the lady who made the mistake, but rather ask if i could get a discount since it wasnt my mistake and if not, just simply return the ham to the store without demanding a refund since we dont really need that much ham during christmas. noticing that they were very busy at the store, i picked another food item to buy just to be able to speak to someone about my concern. when its my turn at the cashier, this young lady named ANN, listened intently to my concern and in a very apologetic but cheerful manner directed me to the managers office. after i proceeded and reluctantly asked for the manager, this young gentleman named JAY informed me that the manager just stepped out for awhile and in a very polite gesture asked me how he can be of help. it didnt take a minute for me to explain how the error transpired and JAY sincerely apologized and offered me a refund — needless to say that he was very cheerful throughout the interaction. besides the excellent products that goldilocks has to offer, it is really a great experience going to this store knowing that they have employees like JAY and ANN who can perform above and beyond when it comes to customer service satisfaction, even in the most busy situation. both of them deserves a commendation from goldilocks management.

If you want super dry cake, go get their chocolate roll cake. Always get their chocolate roll cakes for Thanksgiving and Christmas as a yearly tradition and am very disappointed. Cake is not only super dry but it doesn’t taste the same.

They are always out of friggin carioca(fried sugar donut balls on a stick) man! It was barely 12pm on a Monday and no carioca!!! Anyway, food is good, turo turo(point at the food) style cafeteria style restaurant. Ladies working are old ladies, it is filipino culture as I am filipino as well, to be extremely rude and have a louder voice than talking to customer apparently. Did not happen to me personally, but I was watching other people in line having to talk SUPER loud just to get their order and vice versa. Additionally, the glass window is tall and the people need to talk loud, so that may be why they talk to loud/angry to each other. The ladies just always seem pissed off everytime I go there. The food is good, but the bakery portion is GREAT! The pastillas, the breads, the biscotti, the cakes… I could eat them all! The fresh lumpia is pretty good, filled up nice with veggies and about the size of both of your fists put together fairly priced as well.

I went to Seafood City today with my daughter. We used the restroom first. My daughter mentioned that a lady who used the restroom left without washing her hands. When i saw her i noticed that she was wearing the Goldilocks uniform and i followed her. I was hoping she will wash her hands before going back to work. I was disgusted when she went straight in serving food without bothering to wash her hands. I asked for the Manager to report this but i was told that there was no manager that day. I wont go back to this restaurant.

I would love to give this place more stars because they serve delicious, filipino comfort food but the service is TERRIBLE. I’ve tried to place party orders and prepay and they try to discourage me to do so. Then they say I can pay when I come in but it ALWAYS takes long to get rung up when you’re trying to get in and out. So they wrote up my order for $ 70 of lumpia and I pre-paid. So my husband arrives to pick up my order and guess what? they lost our order! AND after waiting for them to fill the order they of course wanted to charge us AGAIN! Luckily, my husband had our receipt of pre-payment in hand. Plus its silly that they don’t sell the individually wrapped cakes by the piece like they do at other locations. You have to buy them by the box. I would guarantee they would sell more if they sold them individually.

Same high quality, good tasting home town foods we have come to expect from Goldilocks. Located in the Seafood City market area. Parking is usually plentiful unless it’s the weekend grocery after church shopping time. On weekdays I usually order the fresh lumpia and sotanghon.($ 11 for both) The Staff is friendly and helpful. I will be coming back.

2 ladies charged us an extra meal and started calling me stupid and cheap in front of many people after I asked for a refund. Very unacceptable attitude. Aweful customer service.

Food here is always great — I love the fact that the taste of the food never changes(proof that all the cooks are following the recipes closely). My absolute favorite here is the dinuguan and the lechon paksiw. I have to say, though, that for the lechon paksiw, they sometimes tend to give you barely meat and mostly fat. If you like that, then that’s great for you but for me, I don’t want way too much fat. Also, I read/heard some complaints about the price… I say it’s still a pretty good deal since you get a good amount of food. My boyfriend and I usually get the combination with two entrées and about two good scoops of rice for $ 8.99. If you get another order of rice(which we normally do since my boyfriend eats a lot of rice LOL), it’s $ 1.99. So, that’s about $ 11 + tax for lunch for 2. In my opinion, that’s a pretty good deal.

Ordered some dinner from there today. The things we tried: Pork lumpia shanghai Dinuguan Pancit palabok The lumpia wrapper was too thick. Its not like typical lumpia where the skin is thin and meat is plenty… the filling in this was nearly nonexistent. The dinuguan was almost the worst I have ever had. It was only pig skin and fatty pieces and it was not vinegary. I must say though, the pancit palabok was pretty good. I would actually come back for the palabok or to try their cakes. But my other favorites… no thanks.

This Restaurant/Bakery is located in a shopping center next to other filipino restaurants and supermarket. It is pretty small if you are planning to eat healthy this isn’t the right place for you. I think there is a Subway next door. If you decide to eat here, check your blood pressure and your cholesterol level after your meal. The meal is pretty good if you don’t mind the chunks of fat. What grossed me out was the«manager.» I had a question about some holiday deals and an employee pointed her out to me. As I approached her I saw that she was helping someone write a name on the cake. This is where I lost interest. She made a mistake writing a name and she wiped it out with her finger. No gloves! She was also wiping off the piping tip with her bare hands, while handling other things on the counter. What happened to cleanliness???

I came with a co-worker for lunch and we saw 3 filipina co-workers who ordered food form Golidlocks. They said the food was very good and I figured I had not been at a Goldilocks in awhile. The chicken and vegetable dishes were approx $ 5.00 but the beef dishes were $ 1.00 more. The food is served Turo Turo style where you select from ten dishes, all colorful and flavorful. I was disappointed that a serving of rice was $ 1.99. How much is rice, $ 0.15 a serving. Very pricey for a serving a rice. The 3 lumpia for $ 4.95 seemed like a good deal but I ordered the Beef Calderata, a beef stew dish that was very flavorful. They were sold out on the chicken skewers so I know next time to come earlier. I’ll be back for some Filipino cuisine. I definitely think you could eat alot of Filipino food just looking at all of the dishes and wanting to sample them. The food is not quite a 4, more like 3.5 stars.

Goldilocks here has some cheap eats(under $ 5) at the prepped food counter. wouldn’t go for the baked good since it’s all made off site. always a line here, lots of seating.

A bunch of us at the Office went out to Lunch at Benihana’s a few days ago to celebrate a friend’s service anniversary. We had a nice time and the food was tasty and plentiful. I was the«light» eater as I was the only one to order off the Lunch menu. The rest of our Team not only went for the full meal(with ice cream), but doubled down by stopping off at Goldilocks for a couple cakes for a later coffee break. I had my small piece the next morning. I’m not even sure what was ordered, but I found the«lemon» cake much more enjoyable than the«chocolate» one. They are also not«Gateaux Elegant» or Alpine Bakery quality, but since Walnut Creek or the far end of Concord is a long way mid day, Goldilocks was a perfectly acceptable 2nd Choice when time and distance restraints present themselves.

Oh my, this place was crowded at the time of my visit. I let my mom and aunt brave the long, bunched up line. I waited at the tables right outside the restaurant. They returned with some yummy dishes I enjoy. Oh boy, and after reading of the Unilocaler’s review while posting this, I may have to brave the long and bunched up line to see how they handle the food that is being placed on my plates. Anyway, I enjoyed the food. I had the fresh lumpia, diniguan, and sing, sig(sp?) I did eyeball the carioca(a dessert), but did not get any, next time for sure.
