Yummmm!!! I’ve been here several times, and have always been very pleased! I’ve had the bowl with rice and lamb tava, and also the cracked wheat instead of the rice. I think its about as healthy as you can get since you pick and choose all the vegetables you want to add…(similar to a Chipotle or Piada), except this is Turkish style… like I said before… YUMMMMMM! Also, the stuffed grape leaves are VERYGOOD! Definitely fresh!!! For the most part, it’s simple and healthy… can’t get much better than that!

The idea of this place is far better than the food. The tastes were rather bland and not much to write about. I like the speed of getting the food made before me, but if I want food Mediterranean food in this area at a casual place… I’m going to Mezze!

Went there few weeks ago and was told that the place is converting over to Asian style restaurant. Food was good, however, no server suggestions. The chicken was flavorful especially with the bulgar. I was told the chef will stay on with the new Asian restaurant thus I will be back.

ZEROSTARS… Just an FYI for people. They are no longer at this location and the number is disconnected. Sad…I wanted to try this place out. Did they close? Did they move? I don’t know, but I had to settle for Panera… wahhhh.

Searched Unilocal for something near my office and Tava came up with pretty sold reviews. After looking at the pictures of the menu I thought the space would be pretty bare so I was surprised at how cute the space is! Very clean and simple — just like the food, no fuss no muss. Straight forward food with great fresh flavors. Awesome place, quick and great for lunch. I couldn’t eat my whole meal(which was only $ 6.95). Hopefully its as good cold for dinner!

Can I give it a sixth star? PLEASE? «The Turkish Chipotle» is an apt comparison, but with heart and better taste. I always get the lavash(wrap), with white rice, either lamb or seasoned chicken(both FANTASTIC), shredded carrots, feta cheese and HUMMUS, oh the hummus… The blend of flavors and tastes is superb, the meat tender and tasty, great prices and great people. The owner is there 24/7, making certain everything is just so, and a nicer guy you’ll never meet. To say I go here often is an understatement; my wife and I LOVE it. She loves the bowl with lamb or gyro meat, rice and beans. On occasion, he’ll have kefte(Turkish version of burger meat, and SOOO good). Far too rare in my opinion(to put it in perspective, I’ve only been able to get it once, and I pray it’s there when next I go). Simple setup, nice décor and pleasant background music, the baklava is also quite a nice and inexpensive treat to boot, GREATGREATGREATGREAT place to eat.

Wow — a very good and simple spot for a quick meal. I just visited for lunch based on other reviews I’d read on Unilocal. It is a walk-up counter and a few booths. The menu is uncomplicated and easy to understand. Like other set-ups like Chipotle or Piada, you walk in, make a selection on the board(wrap or bowl), choose a filling, and then top with veggies. The difference here is that the veggie choices are super-colorful and fresh-looking, and that you can’t get fresh tabouli salad as a topping in those other joints. I got some fresh Turkish bread also, which was quite good. Top it off with a drink with free refills, and you’ve got yourself a very satisfying $ 10 lunch. I had the gyro meat; my friend had the lamb. We were both satisfied with our choices. I was a little surprised that the place was empty when we pulled up at 12 noon. Things thankfully got a little busier as we ate. The only potential ding I can see is that it might be pretty easy to work your way through the entire menu in successive visits. Looking forward to that(I will be back).

Phenomenal! I have now been to Tava twice and the second time was even better. This place is a vegetarian dream. There is an ample selection of delicious, fresh, and healthy veggie toppings. My favorite thing is the wrap with seasoned bulgur and all the veggies. I love the esme and the tabouli! Together with all the other vegetably goodness, they really rock. Two improvements that I would suggest: 1) better falaffel and 2) lose the dairy in the baba ganoush– completely unnecessary and makes it so I cannot eat it.

We LOVE Tava! It is hands-down my wife’s favorite restaurant. She goes to bed and then wakes up thinking about it, this is her only pregnancy craving. The food is top-notch fresh, colorful, filling, and delicious. Its one of the healthier options out there for health-conscious folks, and the prices are great, too. The owner cares about the quality of his ingredients, is the nicest guy, and is always doing what he can to solicit feedback from customers. He is experimenting with new made-to-order kabobs and they are super flavorful, highly recommended. Cool contemporary setting makes it a pleasure to dine in if you want to chill but taking food to go is quick if you are in a hurry. Do yourself(and your body) a favor and chow down!

The Turkish Chipotle. It is quick and tasty and they never mind that I am limited to pointing at things and either saying«That» or asking«What is that?» On my most recent visit, the cashier said they will be serving kabob in the near future, so the yumminess should get even yummier.

Really like this place. It’s the medierranean version of Chipotle with an assembly-line system. I always get the wrap, rice, Falafel vs gyro meat because I am just not that into ‘meat’ and apply what ever toppings i want(lettuce, cucumber.). I then have them top it with the yummy dressing and feta. So good. ** PS Falafel is a deep fried ground chickpeas with vegetables — nice option for a meatless eater.

Sorry buddy, I really was going to give you 5 stars. There is still alot to be said for Tava, we had a wonderful meal, fast fresh and cheap, the owner and his daughter and son are very nice, helpful and run a nice business. I really hope they make it and manage to stay in business for a long time. The reason I am taking away a star is for the sole purpose that I felt like I got ripped off and I REALLY hate that! I got the falafel bowl, everything about it was amazing, it was made with care, and love, fresh to order, all good. When he asked me if I wanted bread I said sure and he gave me 2 pieces. Later on I noticed he charged me $ 1 for each piece, hell if I would have known that I would have never got the bread and definetly not 2! I have to say that really pissed me off, while the bread was good and I LOVED their garlic and olive oil sauce I dipped it in, I couldn’t help but feel jipped. To get the full experience we got ALL the different kinds of lavash, I had the lamb which was like a stew with veggies, very yummy and flavorful. My son had the chicken, probably the only thing not so exciting. My husband had the lamb gyros and the steak and enjoyed both as well. We also got some baklava and it was amazing! Descest at $ 2 for 2 pieces, it oozes honey, sticky, messy and fresh just how it is supposed to be. The owner is from Antalya so we talkde to him for awhile having been there and since in Germany there are more Turkish restaurants than in Turkey(FACT!) he had lived there beofre as well. I did tell him it is not authentic turkish food (they never use wraps or rice) he knew and said he americanized it in a Chipotle type style. Nonetheless he came up with a fabulous concept and very very good food, definetly worth going to. He should just work on his sales technique, making extra money in that way is not nice!

I stopped in here the other night and I decided I needed to bump my review up to 5 stars. I know I only reviewed it about 4 months ago but I thought this place deserved my best. I had one of the best meals in a few weeks here. I ordered the Red Lentil soup for $ 2 which was better than I remember. I ordered the bowl with whole grain rice, gyro meat, and almost all the toppings for free they had. The owner took his time placing each topping in their own spots and when I mixed these together, I thought I was in heaven. I am a huge gyro(Lavash) fan but I think I would order this bowl over the lavash 4 out of 5 visits here. It is great and well worth your money as I think you get more in the bowl than if you get a lavash. The whole grain rice option is also great as I am trying to cut enriched white flour from my daily consumption. Wonderful place. It is also in a great location beside a Starbucks especially when you need to get a little work done while eating. I can’t wait to go back for a bowl which seems so strange to say, for me.

The Turkish Chipotle! Whether you go with the lavash or a bowl, get everything on it. Add some babaganoush! I went with the lamb. Delish. It’s not going to be as fast as Chipotle, and if you get falafel, it’s made to order, so be prepared to wait a few minutes. All the extras(such as their Turkish bread) seem to run about a dollar. The room isn’t big and isn’t fancy. But it’s lovely. The young girl working brought us a small piece of baklava to thank us for being patient. The baklava really was an adorable attempt. I wouldn’t get it on purpose, frankly. But I didn’t go there for the baklava.

There’s something to be said for simple good food. No fancy table décor, no server to suggest the specials, no distractions, just goooood food. Looks like the other Unilocalers agree! I came here for lunch awhile back solely because of the reviews. I happened to be on this side of town so naturally I had to hit up my closest four-and-a-half star option. Set up cafeteria-style — where you stand in line and place your order then pay and sit — you have the options of falafel, hummus, pita, etc. Once you decide your base, it’s up to you what kind of additional Mediterranean toppings you’d like to top it off with: beans, Tabbouleh, baba ghanoush, etc. I loaded my falafel up with the works(ask the person working for combo recommendations. He/she won’t steer you wrong.) The price was just right, actually cheaper than I expected considering my portion size! — and everything tasted so fresh and light. I’m pretty sure they prepare everything in-house day-of. It sure tasted like it! Since my lunch was relatively healthy, I decided to splurge on the baklava. Please, follow my lead. It was amazing! Flaky, sweet, moist… :drool.: I’m happy to see these new guys thriving in this area. There are a lot of chain options along Morse Rd. so it’s nice to see a lot of people showing love to a locally-owned place. Get over here pronto to try for yourself!

I wanted to eat at Mezze before I wrote this review as they are very similar restaurants that serve Mediterranean style food in a Chipotle format. Both places have great service and both places have hands on owners that know their customers on a personal level. I do like the décor of Mezze much, much better, but enjoyed the food better at Tava. Tava has much larger portions, a more authentic flavor, and a better variety of fresh vegetables. I also enjoy the falafel more and the sauces are richer. I do want to return to both places but Tava won this round.

The falafel is great — the lentil soup even better! The vegetarian lentil soup has a very faint layered flavor of mint… so very YUM! I’m in love with the Baba, the tabbouleh is fresh and lemony without too much bulgar mixed in. Bread with savory oil dip is fab! Hummus is deliciously garlicky. It’s so close to my own personal recipe that I love it! and I’m harsh on the hummus. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. I vote for the bowl, not the wrap and do NOT pass up the«brown rice» I think it’s also a bulgar but so deliciously flavored and cooked it reminds me of a Turkish take on a risotto. The baklava is great, the custard is phenomenal with the perfect consistency and flavor blend of sweet, egginess, and vanilla. SWOOOOON! This is just fabulous and I’m so glad it’s near me. The people there have huge pride in what they do, and have even helped me supplement an event catering display on the fly with their wonderful baba and hummus. They close at 9 but have been sweet enough to break out all the stops when I waltzed in at 8:55 starving and craving. Come on down(er northeast) kids! The price is right!

I live just around the corner from this place and only JUST noticed it. How long has it been there? I thought it was brand new, but the reviews go back at least a few months. Shows how observant I am… I loved what I got(a bowl, to go), even though my lovely daughter decided to hold it SIDEWAYS in the car on the way home. Everything was jumbled together! When they loaded up my container, they had put the sides on the side, arranged nicely. Well, I can say that it tastes just as great all smashed up in the corner of the box. LOL Very good food, cheap, friendly staff, clean atmosphere. I’ll be going back!

Mmmmmmmmmmm. That’s the best way to describe Tava. The owner was on site at my visit to Tava and was so excited to hear about all the positive reviews he was receiving on Unilocal!I’m excited to give him another. Mediterranean Chipotle is a good way to describe this only in my opinion, much much better. You have a choice of lavash(burrito type wrap) or a bowl. I chose the bowl with chicken and took suggestions from the owner as to what else to put in it. I just kept saying«sure, let’s try it!» SO glad I did. Delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender, juicy and flavorful but not overseasoned– a big pet peeve of mine that I often find at Chipotle. Finished off the bowl with rice, feta, hummus, tomatoes, tabouli, and some kind of spicy salsa. I also got some pita for the side, which was ridiculously fluffy and fresh and paired with a sundried tomato and herb olive oil for dipping. Perfection. And the hummus in my bowl was so creamy and smooth. Again– über fresh. The owner even threw in some baklava just so we could give it a try. It was a delicious(but not too sweet) bite to end the meal. With a 10 minute drive from my work– I anticipate being the mayor of this place very soon. Good thing this food is healthy!

The food is fresh, the resturaunt is neat and clean. The staff will get you just about anything you want, however you want it. The format is reminiscent of Chipotle or Piada, which are all within walking distance within this business. They have a variety of flavors and your options come in a burrito or a bowl. The bowl is giant sized. The Baklava is really good. Its a simple place with a lot of different flavor options. Its worth stopping by to try for something different.
