honest review! I go to this place about three times a week. I’m always pleased and the food is always delicious! The last two times I went the chicken was extra salty. I told the lady and she just stated she will let the cook know. Next time I went the same thing. I travel a bit to get here. I don’t know if they changed cooks but there is a huge difference from The beginning of the week and the weekend. The weekend food is just terrible! Undercooked and extra salty. I’m not sure if I will be back. I love supporting small businesses but the staff doesn’t seem to care if the food isn’t cooked to your liking. I may just have to stick to roosters. :/it sucks because I was really starting to enjoy this place!

I pass this place everyday, but I finally decided to stop the other evening, when I was just too tired to cook dinner. I was the only customer in there at the time, and the lady at the counter was very nice and patient with me. 50 different sauces is great, but also a bit daunting when you have had any of them before. I ordered 20 wings with 4 different sauces, Spicy Honey, Southern Carolina Gold, Garlic Parmesan, and Butter Chip. We like all 4, but my favorite was the Spicy Honey, and my husband liked the Garlic Parmesan the best. I was happy to find out that they don’t pre-cook anything, it’s all made to order, so don’t go if you’re in a huge rush. My husband is picky about wings; he likes them well done and crispy, and these fit the bill. I did not try the fries.

I really wish I could say I had some great wings here, but I was really disappointed. This place is right across from the Centerfold strip club off Stelzer and sits by itself next to two abandon buildings. You can use one of these for parking. It’s really hard to miss this place, since the sign is small, and it really doesn’t look like a restaurant. I called around 12:45 on a Friday, and they quoted me about 25 minutes, which is a bit long but whatever. When I got there, there was maybe 2 – 3 people ahead of me, but for some reason, it took another 15 minutes after the 25 minutes I was quoted to get my food. The lady working the counter was nice, but it seemed a bit chaotic between the kitchen and the front counter. Everyone else in there was looking to get fish, because apparently there was a commercial out for Keaton’s Fish Fryday. I asked if I needed to pay extra for ranch, since the wings came with blue cheese already, and she told me to not worry, it’d come with it. Yeah, I didn’t believe that at all, and of course, when I got back to work, no ranch or blue cheese. The wings themselves were not that great. They were heavy on the breading, which was falling apart and soggy, and the sauces I got, Louisiana Hot and the Spicy Ranch, didn’t do much for me. If I had to pick, I guess the ranch was better. I couldn’t finish them, which is saying a lot considering how much I love chicken wings. The worst part about all of it was the fries. Van must have got the good fries, because mine were pretty awful. They were barely fried and had no seasoning on them. I was eating soggy potato strips, and not enough ranch or ketchup was enough to help. You could tell they were hurrying the frying part of the food as the orders were stacking up in the kitchen. The place wasn’t very expensive, so that may be the only redeeming quality, and you could tell they were starting to get swamped after I arrived. I’m not sure if this was just a bad day for them or what, but I wasn’t impressed, and if they want to stay in business, they better get their shit together. Consistency is so important, and my food didn’t look anything like what Van had posted.

I had a chance to checkout this new takeout spot for lunch after noticing it this week. It’s a little north of the airport on Stelzer around some abandoned little shops and across the street from a gentlemen’s club. The interior looks new(since it is), very clean, and well organized. It doesn’t feel like a restaurant as much as a small business. They also sell little snack food and candy like a small sundry store. The takeout menu is limited to wings and fries, but they have 50 different sauces to choose from. I went with an 8 wing combo that included fries and a can of soda for $ 10.99. I prefer light or no batter on my wings; these are more like fried chicken in sauce. However, they do a good job of keeping a crunch. I tried two of their sauces: «911» and«Keaton’s House Sauce». The 911 wasn’t as hot as I was hoping for, but they do have two other hotter levels(«ER», and«Call the Doctor») that I can try on my next visit. The house sauce is a standard BBQ with a heavy dose of what I believe is rubbed sage. It was different from anything I’ve had before. The fries were great. They looked like they would be soft and mushy, but they actually maintained a good firmness on the outside. I wasn’t offered malt vinegar, but the fries would go well with it. The folks here are really nice and welcoming. They did forget my blue cheese though. Overall a pretty good lunch, maybe closer to a 3 star, but I’m bumping it up on the expectation that I’ll find the right sauces for me.
