The staff is fast friendly and knowledgeable. I cannot stress how great this place is for anyone that is considered buying servicing or even just looking around for bicycles. Simply outstanding! They took the time to explain every subtle nuance. If I could give it 7 stars I would.

In a world of shady, tiny, or otherwise unfriendly bike shops Bike Source is a gleaming source of hope to bipedal lifeforms such as myself. I rock a vintage racing bike from Austria that has weird parts, weird gears, and weird problems so I knew taking this bike to a bike store that’s used to working on $ 2500 executive specials and fixed gears probably wouldn’t work for me. This bike shop would have to have experts that knew how to work on all kinds of bikes. That bike store was Bike Source. From the moment I walked in, all through the inspection where the friendly mechanic walked me through the areas he was checking and noting things to look for, to the professional write-up and detailed line item report… I was sold on this place. They also finished the service on my bike(which included more complicated work than I had thought at the beginning) 2 days earlier than expected and had my Austrian beauty back to her 1970’s vintage in no time. I highly recommend Bike Source for all of your tune-up or mechanical ailments!

They were so helpful, finding me just the right headlight to meet my needs and then selling me the floor model at a discount since they didn’t have any backstock. I really appreciate these guys.

I’ve gotten my bike repaired a few times here and they’ve done a nice job. The shop part leaves a little to be desired; very pricey and the bike light I got there fr $ 40 was junk. So yay to repair-part, boo to store-ship part

If you’re unfamiliar with me from other reviews, you should know that I quit driving nearly six years ago to reduce my carbon footprint. I ride a bicycle at least six miles a day, year-round. That said, THIS is my bike shop of choice. I’ve made purchases at all the trendy bike boutiques around town, and I’ll still take bike source, thank you. You can see my review of b1 for more info on those other shops, and a good tale about this bike shop and how it did right by me when b1 did not. What bike source’s superiority over other shops really boils down to is customer service. They’re friendly where others are rude and condescending, they’re helpful where others are off-putting, and they’re reasonable where others aren’t…namely with prices. It is an Ohio company and is only marginally less mom-and-pop than other local options. I won’t take my bike anywhere else. My repairs are normally finished same day, and often are quick enough that I can just jot down to Giant Eagle for a short trip to the deli and back. My only complaint is that they could stay open a little later.

I try to avoid sterile shops like Bike Source as a rule. But I was riding down High St. and popped a tire in a construction zone. I walked my bike down to Bike Source and asked them what they could do about it. They were relatively busy, but immediately took my bike into the shop and replaced the tube in a matter of minutes. The staff was on point with every question I had. No problems at all, and I was back on my bike way quicker than I expected. So, I grudgingly have nothing but good things to say about Bike Source.

Bike Source is the closest thing to a bicycle superstore that you’ll find anywhere in central Columbus. The store is spacious and tidy, the bike selection is extensive, and the accessories are plentiful and thoughtfully placed. On top of all that, the staff here is incredibly helpful without being the least bit pushy snooty. I went in there knowing absolutely nothing about bikes and left with a thorough knowledge of exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I took my money elsewhere because the prices here tend to be on the steep side. If you’re a novice biker in search of a «gateway» bike to get you started on until you have a better idea of what your long-term cycling goals are, this is not a great place to get started. After talking to the sales associate on hand for ten minutes about what kind of cycling I’m interested in doing(mostly commuting and joy-riding through the city), the cheapest option they had available that fit my needs was around $ 900. He did a very thorough job of explaining exactly where that exorbitant amount of money would be going,(i.e.the titanium frame, Shimano gear system, etc.), but I had a hard time believing that a brand new bike of such a cost was the best thing for me. You can;t fault him, however, as he was simply doing his job. After purchasing a used bike off an internet ad, I brought it in here for a routine tune-up and a brake adjustment. I dropped my bike off, did some shopping at the nearby Giant Eagle, and picked up my bike in less than an hour. The price was reasonable and my bike rode like it was brand new. In that regard, Bike Source is an excellent value– great service at a great price!

While the Bike Source on High St. in Clintonville may have one of the better selections of bikes in the area, the staff occasionally leaves a little to be desired. I have often found that when I have a question pertaining to my mountain bike the only Bike Source staffer available at the time knows little about mountain bikes because he only rides road bikes. As far as the store itself, it is definitely one of the nicer joints around. Wide aisles make it easy to pull bikes out of their racks for a closer inspection, and the larger showroom allows lots of room for accessories and apparel. If you’re looking for some snazzy spandex or other streamlined bike stuff, this is the place to go. However, if you’re looking for a larger stock of different brands of mountain bikes plan on making some trips to several stores. Specialized bikes abound in Bike Source — long gone are the days when you could test out a Trek, Specialized, Cannondale and Giant of similar quality and price point in a matter of minutes. However if you want to ride a variety of kinds of bikes(cruisers, road, hybrid, mountain, etc…) to see which kind is going to fits your needs best, this is a great place to start.

I have been looking for a bike for my wife and I. I am a large man and obviously haven’t been on a bike in years but the staff was very helpful and answered every question I had. I would highly recommend them.

Bike Source is a great place for bikes, bike accessories, maintenance, clothing, and simple knowledge gathering. They have a good selection of products and if they don’t have what you need they are happy to order it for you. I’ve never come away from there without getting at least an order in for what I need. Their staff is friendly and not only answer questions but also offer advice if the customer seems unsure about something. My one criticism is that they(like almost all bike shops) are more geared toward fitness and racing bicyclists, and less toward commuting bicyclists. But given the nature of the industry this can usually be forgiven. If you’re looking for a good place to get great bikes and service, Bike Source is the place.
