Good is good and the Mediterranean flair is appreciated. The bread/crust is delicious.

The food was nasty but the service was great. Cold fries and dry sandwiches were apart of the menu. Should have noticed something was wrong when we entered an empty restaurant. Nice people.

It’s ok. Better than the typical big chains but I prefer Mod pizza for both taste and price. But HS is a sit down so maybe you’ll like that.

Snagged a Groupon so got a pretty good deal. I liked the menu variety… Hope to go back soon to try something new! The waiter was very kind and attentive.

The pizza is shaped differently but DELICIOUS! Such great toppings too. The wings were just as delicious. My favorite among all was Slyce Mule… so refreshing in a copper mug. I’ve been several times and the service has always been stellar. Please try the black magic spice on everything, it’s on each table.

Came here with my husband and a couple friends and the pizza is amazing! Not sure if the bread was wheat or cornmeal, but it was delicious. My husband, a man who loves a good calzone, ordered the Italian calzone and loved it. The service was phenomenal as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better waiter(although I believe he was the owner?) Will definitely return with more people.

I love that the food is excellent and the staff is friendly and attentive. Nice décor, casual pizza place with some interesting pizzas. Plenty of tables in the main dining area and there is a small but separate bar area. We usually get a Greek salad and 2 pizzas for my family. Haven’t tried anything else yet but the different pizzas we’ve tried have not disappointed. Nice spot to go to at the end of the week with the kids to have pizza and a glass of wine to relax.

Excellent food, casual but spacious atmosphere, great customer service, a little more pricey but worth it. We came on a Thursday evening with a toddler and it was moderately busy. No wait and our hostesses were friendly. Our waiter was super attentive and helpful throughout our experience. I ordered a gluten free Homeslyce Classic without mozzarella, adding portabella mushrooms, my husband had the spinach/eggplant calzone, and the little one had hummus with a side of salmon. The hummus was very fresh and authentic tasting, and the veggies add a nice touch. The calzone was huge and devoured in its entirety with raving reviews. The gluten free pizza came out overdone, HOWEVER here is where the service gets 6 stars. I mentioned this to our waiter but assured him that I could salvage it with some extra pizza sauce(I hate making a huge fuss). A couple of minutes later, another friendly gentleman, either a manager or someone from the kitchen, came and asked about the pizza. He insisted he make it again, because he wanted me to smile! Very cool to not make me beg or even ask, ANDITCAMEOUTFANTISTICALLY!!! The GF crust is a crispy thin crust that perfectly holds and complements the fancy ingredients(check out the picture). We will be back. The toppings are top notch. I mean, my pizza had walnuts, goat cheese, and eggplant! Where else can you get that kind of variety? We have a new place(sorry Ledo).

I decided to try out HomeSlyce after I was curious if any restaurant moved into the home where Azul17 used to be. Upon driving by, I saw«Slyce”(through the trees) and the logo assumed it was a pizza place and new I would return to check it out. With this new restaurant being in this shopping center its difficult to get easy drive by visibility and traffic I hope that it stays because I enjoyed it. After doing some research after eating here I saw that HomeSlyce is a Bmore restaurant so I hope that it stays in Columbia. They did a really good job creating a unique design and ambiance inside of the restaurant to replace the shell left by Azul 17. Open brick and a definite sports theme help corral in an impressive theme in the restaurant. The restaurant offers tv’s and some unique seating options, plus a stocked bar. I visited this spot after Grotto’s and while Grotto’s offers more tvs and more channels. HomeSlyce only featured baseball, and a espn channel showing the olympic trials for the marathon. Pretty solid, but I would’ve preferred maybe one of the baseball channels showing a different sports perhaps. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded and the staff working there were very friendly and attentive to get my started. I mentioned that I just wanted a basic slice of pizza. Well, I had no idea how the menu at this restaurant works, but they do offer a «slyce» which is like a boat shaped pizza. The waiter after hearing my request said okay, got me seated with a drink as I waited for my «slice» of pizza. After about a 12 – 15 minute wait my «slyce» arrives. At first I was like woah I didn’t «need» to order this much pizza, but said whatever. I dived into the pizza and it had a pretty good flavor. A little bit on the greasy side underneath the«boat» of the slice with crisp, airy crust. I imagine they could even offer pretzel crust as an option for«slyce’s». Additionally, this restaurant offers a happy-hour menu and the day I went«slyce’s» were half off. The cost and size of a slyce as a bit more than I was expecting but the happy-hour pricing made it okay. I’d say this restaurant is definitely good if you want to get a unique style of pizza with the options to get various burgers, sandwiches, or fries. I saw two girls that had ordered some sandwiches and burgers. I overheard them mention that it tasted good, so I figure despite what the prices are at least the food is GOOD!

Came here on a Saturday night around 11pm and the place was empty. Not a lot of places are open around this time in Columbia and I decided to try this place. I ordered the buffalo chicken slyce and was a little disappointed since it wasn’t that spicey nor did it have that traditional buffalo taste. From my first impression, I think the food is just okay here. Apparently they have live music here on Saturday nights which was really cool. The bartender was also super nice. I think this place is great for drinking and watching sports. Also, they have some solid happy hour deals.

I never gave a bad review but this place deserves it ! Severs and other employees definitely saw us at the door, few past by and nothing ! Had to wait about 10 – 15 minutes just standing while there was plenty of seats available!!! Terrible service !!! never coming back !

The PopPie is a winner — I ordered it based on someone else’s review and we loved it. Also definitely recommend the chicken wings. Love having a food option for delivery that actually tastes great.

I ordered a Greek salad with salmon to go along with hummus. First of all, the hummus is served with fresh baked bread, and that’s a nice touch. The hummus itself is homemade, and is very tahini based and rich. A good start. The salmon was grilled well and very flavorful. I think they way they served the Mediterranean salad was a little awkward in the container but that’s what I get for ordering out. Everything was fresh and well done. I can’t wait to eat there since the place is really cool on the inside and their beer selection is killer.

4 stars for taste! This pizza has tons of flavor and I was impressed! I went in to make a carry-out order, and it took no more than 15 minutes. I ordered a 16″ original dough with Homeslyce sauce and fresh mozzarella. On one half, I ordered mushrooms and artichokes. The other half had spicy beef, fresh basil, sundried tomatoes, artichokes, and mushrooms. I realized adding all these toppings was going to jack the price up quite a bit to a grand total of $ 36.92 for a 16″ pizza. Yikes! That is $ 2.50 for each veggie and cheese topping on a 16″ pizza and $ 3.50 for each protein(or nuts) topping! The next time I try this, it would probably save money to just order from the Premium Pizza section where a 16″ pizza goes for $ 20.95 and some of those options have tons of toppings. I’m just glad that my nearly $ 40 pizza was delicious! It makes the wallet hurt a little less.

Open since December and only a few miles from my crib, this find would be easy to miss. I only learned of the location via a menu sent in the mail. Inside, the joint feels hipper than most pizza places. The tables are contemporary and there’s a variety of seating choices. I was curious about the fried pickle spears and the wife wanted some humus. The pickles and their sauce were good but don’t try them if you like crunchy pickle chips. These are tasty even without the sauce. The humus was delish and light. They pride themselves on slyce’s shaped like boats. We opted not try that but it sounded like if you normally eat 3 average slices of pie, this would be for you. Instead we got two 10 inchers to share with the fam. The crust is amazing. Light and crunchy with that«out of a stone oven taste.» The total pie was great in flavors. A plus is that they deliver and I’d much rather pay a local pizza joint to deliver than a chain. Let’s keep these folks in biz and enjoy their delish often!

First time at the Homeslyce and it was a positive overall experience. Décor was very tasteful urban style, rustic woods and metals. Very clean and comfortable. Lots of large, crisp and clear pictures TV’s on the walls which is great for viewing from all angles. Homey salad was very good but light on dressing so we asked for more on the side. No big deal. Pizza was well presented on a raised stand which just seems to add to the experience. Wide variety of customizable soda products(pick your flavored syrup or combo). They sell Coke products if you are a fan. Service was very good, did not hover and was responsive when we did need something. The sausage on our Strongman meat pizza was a mixture of beef and lamb and had a strong smokiness to it so if you don’t like smoked flavoring, you may want to avoid the sausage topping. Nice crust and sauce. We also ordered the pickle fries which are actually baked with a sauce on the side for dipping. They were good but a little bland.

The HomeSlyce Balto fav football shaped pizza is an experience. We actually tried their delivery now that they’re here in Columbia and though the pizza was great the delivery? — Not so much. So, we’ve been excited that now not only does Columbia have a Grotto’s Pizza, it has a HomeSlyce AND they deliver. The online ordering was easy, but we did call to make sure they GOT the order as some of the reviews here on Unilocal say it’s spotty. Best to be sure, right? From their website: «HomeSlyce offers a convenient, secure and fast premier delivery service within 3 miles of each location. Delivery is available Sunday to Thursday from 11am till 11pm and Friday and Saturday from 11am till Midnight.» But I gotta warn you they forget stuff. There were 3 of us — 2 grownups & one kid. We ordered a LOT of stuff(because it was new, we were hungry, and of course I’m a dedicated reporter) You’re welcome. ;-) Here’s the rundown: Spinach Pie 1 $ 8.59 — OK, this was deilish –not a large portion to share but yum! Olives 1 $ 5.99 — tasty but small portion, only if you’re cravin Slyce Balls 1 $ 8.95 — small balls but tasty. heh heh 1lb Wings 1 $ 9.90 — Garlic Herb w/Blue Cheese –decent size but they forgot the Blue Cheese 10″ Premium Pizza 1 $ 13.94 — Original White Buffalo Chicken Pizza — NOM! PopPie Pizza Slyce — Garlic sauce, baby spinach, onions, Gorgonzola & goat cheese 1 $ 13.93 — OK, this was a winner! Was cut into 3 big slices Brownie 1 $ 4.43 –tasty but very small, the size of a pack playing cards Kids Burger w/fries 1 $ 4.99 & Diet Coke(they left this out, too — poor nephew was bummed, he only gets one soda a day — which leads me to ask what skinny little 8 year old likes DIET coke?) SubTotal: $ 72.22 All in all this was a good taste of what’s available and the food was DELISH but yeah, a bit pricey. I guess I forgot that when we used to go downtown. Would have given it 5 stars if they hadn’t forgotten stuff. We noticed immediately that the kids Coke wasn’t in the delivery but I just couldn’t bring myself to make the nice delivery guy go back for a can of soda. But it’s a pet peeve of mine when a delivery doesn’t have ALL the promised items — which you usually don’t discover until you unpack and the delivery guy is back on the road. Sorta reminds of the line from Lethal Weapon 2 line from Leo Getz — «They eff you in the drive through!» or delivery! LOL Ohhhh! Forgot to mention, we did LOVE how they used GREEN& biodegradable food cartons. That’s both a responsible & laudable choice! I would give a half star just for that!

This place took the spot of the failed Azul 17. They redecorated the place and made it homey. Tuesdays are apparently two toppings on a 16″ for $ 16(the slyce and 10″ are also discounted). I ordered a pineapple and bacon pizza and it hit the spot. The crust is neither too crunchy or too doughy. The toppings/ingredients also tasted fresh. The service was a little slow, but the 1 guy primarily serving everyone did a great job for the situation. They have nicely appointed TVs for all of your sports viewing pleasure. I recommend giving them a shot as it’s a nice casual spot and has maintained its charm that I remember from their Baltimore locations.

We wanted to support a local business versus a chain and really like HomeSlyce. But please do not order online. They admitted their online ordering does not differentiate between ONESLICE of pizza for $ 14 vs ONEENTIREPIZZA for $ 16. There was no confirmation for the order so when we called, we were relieved that our order was in the oven and on it’s way. But then the delivery guy showed up with two super light boxes of one slice of pizza each. How is that supposed to feed 4 adults? So disappointing. We’re starving.

I would give them more than 5 stars if I could! This new nice looking establishment has been in business since last week! I always was craving to try their pizza so no more waiting, they are open now and they’re so great! It’s owned by Turkish people very nice and honest people! I tried their touch down(sojouk) pizza, was great and a 16″ size was enough to feed 3 people! All ingredients were fresh and me as a picky guy never had complain! Will come back again and recommend people to come!
