The place is a joke. Barbers making inappropriate comments while watching the news on TV about the problems with«minorities» in Philadelphia and how things«used to be». You could feel how uncomfortable other patrons were. Bad barbers with bad attitudes.

The guy in the back wouldn’t shut up. He spit on my neck and I caught a cold. I will never go back.

The classics never go out of style. As soon as you walk into Stagliano’s, you get that good old barbershop feeling. Coming from a guy who has wandered the wilderness since my childhood barber retired in my teens, I’m so glad to have found a place that brings me back to the roots of a good haircut and manly atmosphere. I’ve tried cutting my own hair. I’ve been to Hair Cuttery and Holiday. I’ve been to other«barber shops» that think a manly environment needs pinup girls and no talent barbers. I’ve gone the route of the high end salons. All I have to show for my experiences is a raft of ugly haircuts, a cut ear, uncomfortable memories, shaved-in bald spots, and an empty wallet. At Stagliano’s, Lou(second chair from the end) gave me the best haircut I’ve had in a long time. He took the time to do it right — not just snapping various clips onto a trimmer, but actually blending. With scissors! To cap it all off, he vaccuumed me off(my first such experience… in public) and sent me on my way without an itchy neck. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, conversation, and quality of service(most of all). They will be getting my business again. —-EDIT — - The bloom is off the rose. The more I went to Stagliano’s, the less I felt welcomed. The talk was between the barbers more than with the customers. The only time the proprietor spoke to me was to shill for his wife’s campaign for district judge. Not a good place after all. Go to American Barber on Main instead. Leaps and bounds better!
