This is the best dinner out in CDA. Great place for a date. Absolutely unbelievable food. The atmosphere is very relaxing. I highly recommend Syringa for a couples dinner, best in town. Absolutely no kids!!!

This place is so overrated! We had the worst service and had to leave. The server never wrote anything down and of course came back an hour later to ask what my husband ordered! Wth? Sushi was average. Not worth my time or money. We moved here from LA and Vegas. We know sushi and good service and sad to say we will never go back.

The sushi and service here is always good. I love the lunch bento box and I have tried almost all their rolls. Though the rolls are smaller they are very well prepared. The sushi is always fresh and the atmosphere inside restaurant is great when its not packed . Couple things though that I am not thrilled about. Number one, the wine selections. They need to be better. Number two is the place is small and crowded. It feels like you are eating on top of each other. Outside is even worse at you are literally on the street eating. Overall though I like this place, like the micro brews, and will be back frequently. Oh did I mention the service is GREAT!

HORRIBLE!!! This is a very hard review for me to do. My first real experience with good sushi was at Syringa and it was amazing. But I guess in three years a lot has CHANGED. It was pretty expensive in the past but the huge amazing rolls made it worth it. We have since started going to Ugly fish and have gone many times and absolutely love it. But today I decided I was willing to pay a little more and have one of those huge amazing rolls again. When I went in, there was only one other person there so I figured I would get a to go order and be out of there in ten minutes. I ordered two rolls and sat back to wait on my order. I understand when a place is busy, but there was one other person in the restaurant besides me and two cooks. When I saw one of the cooks stick what I thought was my sushi roll into a toaster oven I was confused, but when almost half hour passed and I still had not got my two rolls I was starting to get frustrated. Then when I noticed whatever the cook had put in the oven was still in there I hoped it was not my food. The other cook walked past tapped on the oven and the guy took out with his bare hands a roll. When my order was brought to me I got up and went to my car. In the car I opened the box because it felt really light and I was worried maybe he forgot one of my rolls. I have never seen such tiny rolls in my life. Each piece of sushi was a tiny bit bigger then a quarter, and the outside of the one roll was hard from being in the toaster oven for almost half a hour. When I got back to work and showed everyone what I had just paid 30 dollars for, everyone said ‘you got ripped off’. And everyone was shocked that it had come from Syringa. So sadly we will not be going back ever. What a waist of 30 bucks.

SERVICE: Standard, friendly. FOOD: Poor. The sushi(both rolls and nigiri) are REALLY hit and miss. I guess I’ve been spoiled by places in Seattle where it’s basically so good you can try new things and everything is amazingly delicious. Sadly, I have not ever found such a place in a small area. Spokane’s sushi hasn’t been significantly better. :( VALUE: Standard, if the quality was not poor at times. DRINKS: Had a decent selection of quality microbrew, and everything I’ve tried was great. DECOR: Nice! LASTTHOUGHTS: I’ve been here 3 times over the years. Can’t see myself coming here again unless it’s in a group of people and I have no input.

We live in post falls and usually get Fu Ki. It doesn’t open until 5 and we wanted an early dinner so I drove to CDA to try syringa. I’ll never leave post falls for it again! Mediocre is the nicest thing I can say about it. I’m still trying to figure out how it gets such good reviews. Every other sushi place I’ve tried in the area is better. The only reason I’m giving it two stars is because the service was great. Food was far from great. Go to Ugly Fish or come to post falls for Fu Ki

Five stars for this adorable sushi restaurant. I was passing through town & I didn’t think I’d find sushi in Idaho… especially a place that’s comparable to CA sushi. This one is better then the local sushi restaurants that I frequent back home! Definitely a must for the sushi lover who is nearby.

Not sure how this place could ever earn less than 5stars. Godzilla, anchor and fried California! Perfect end to a powder day at silver. Sara was a great server 5 stars for her too. If you don’t live here this place is a must visit!!!

No question the best sushi place in North Idaho. I have had sushi in many spots around the country and sometimes I can’t believe a sushi restaurant this good is in North Idaho!

What a great find! Today for a early dinner we came in and ordered the anchor, California roll, and the godzilla and oh my how amazing it was! The anchor was my absolute favorite. It had such a wonderful mix of flavors! I usually stay away from trying new things, but I decided to go ahead and try it and I was not disappointed. The service was great and the atmosphere was fun. This is definitely my favorite sushi place around!

Love it. Super cool vibe and small dining space. There’s a little sushi bar in there too. Very chill ambience. Good prices and great fish keep us coming back. Heads up you will have to wait for a seat, but it’s worth it.

Reservations are meaningless here… fair warning. My wife and I arrive 10 minutes before our reservation time. As usual this small little place was very crowded and there was only one open table, as well as seating at the bar and two spots at the community table. The waitress asked the person in front of us if we had a reservation he replied no and she offered sitting at the bar. After expressing his preference for table she gave him the only table in the place. Then when it came to be our turn to be seated the same waitress asked us if we wanted to sit at the bar, and when I explained we have reservations for two for a table she looked around the room and very snottily shot back saying«well I can’t make anyone get up and leave»…and walked off. There are only two places in our town to get sushi… This one is the only one worth going to. The food is always consistent and very good so my rating is not due to the food or even the atmosphere. This review is one star simply because of how rude the waitress was to us even after we were seated. Her attitude was as if it was our privilege to have her in the room…

Well, others must definitely have a different palate than moi! The seafood tempura was tasteless; except for later when bile was added to it. Smallest sushi roll I’ve ever seen… unless quarter size is normal to you ? Let us not forget it is the first bar I’ve experienced where the customer is charged for extra wasabi and/or ginger. Alad, it must be me!

I have to say that this is the best Sushi in town! It appears a bit«divy» but it is spectacular! Only«real» sushi in North Idaho. They have Saki but I don’t drink it but I usually have so many beers to choose from that I pick a few. Good problems to have!

I have had Sushi all over the west coast and Syringa is still hard to beat. The atmosphere is fantastic and the servers are amazing. Sit at the bar and you are likely to be spoiled by the chefs. Don’t miss this one!

Syringa deserves the four star rating that it currently has. The food is among the top tier for the price offered in the Coeur d’Alene area. I was happy with my bento box that I ordered. It came with teriyaki beef, tonkatsu, rice, tempura vegetables and shrimp, salad and two small pot stickers. The beef was cooked perfectly to ordered and good quality. The pork seemed a little over done, but was breaded nicely. The salad had a restaurant made miso cream dressing that added quality uniqueness. I’ve had good tempura before, but was very pleasantly surprised with Syringa’s version; crisp on the outside, but the shrimp and vegetables were excellently preserved. I tried my wife’s sushi and thoroughly enjoyed it(and I’m not the biggest sushi fan). It was the Las Vegas roll and seemed to be a good sushi for beginners as cream cheese is never bad! Our server was friendly and helpful. The food did take a long time to come out. The restaurant is quite small so I wondered what was taking so long because even at full capacity it is much smaller than most restaurants. They were also totally out of several sodas which surprised me. They only sell sodas in bottles and not fountain and I was pretty disappointed in that.

This place is the BEST! It has a fun vibe, the food is always spot on and even when it is packed(and it’s never not packed), the service is perfection. The braised green beans for a starter, are always a must; they aren’t listed on the lunch menu, but you can still order them. For only $ 4, you get a good sized bowl of garlicky, sticky, savory braised beans. On the raw side, I love the albacore sashimi and on the cooked side, I am a huge fan on the Godzilla and the Once in a Lifetime. I’ve been here for both lunch and dinner, too many times to count and it is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in CDA.

The sushi here is the best you will find in Couer d’Alene. The fish was fresh and the rolls were delicious. The Seattle roll and dragon roll were prepared with great portions. The customer service was A+. Try Hakkasan sake paired with a couple of sushi rolls and you will leave satisfied! Best sushi in CDA hands down!
