One star only for this because this space has potential to be something much better. No wonder this place was empty on a Friday night. It is DEFINITELY not THEGROVESPOT. My friend lives just down the street so we decided to walk over and have a glass of wine or maybe two before moving on. It was around 8ish and there were people at one table outside and the inside had only one person at the bar. We quickly sat at a high top table near the bar. The Bartenders/waitresses took more than 5 minutes to pay us any attention and the place was practically empty. We shrugged it off when she finally came to greet us. We asked what wines they had and her answer was«Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Cabernet.» Okay thanks for the info, I could have guessed that, but alright we will take a cab and a pinot. The bartender and the waitress were chatting and complaining about the cold weather the whole time they were pouring our rather small glasses of wine. Once the waitress brought our glasses, she never checked up on us again. The people outside were eating when we arrived so we expected to be offered a menu. That never happened, and the waitress never came back for us to ask her for one either. Her and the bartender were talking to each other about how they needed a drink. The vibe was so blah and we definitely felt like we were unwanted patrons. Still have no idea what kind of wine we drank and never got the chance to inquire. We decided to hurry and finish our wine and move on. So as the bartender was delivering a drink to the people outside we flagged her down and asked for the check. Total was $ 17 for the smallest glass and what tasted like house wine. She immediately came back with and we paid and left. I don’t think I will ever come back here again. Very sad because the place is huge and has nice décor.

1 stars only because of the location in a pleasant part of grove. However that’s about all that is pleasant! If you want to feel like your taking part in a Jerry Springer show, this is the place to go! The waitresses ooze white trash and treat you accordingly. Moody, dirty and foul mouthed, they certainly welcome you as if you just stole their trailer. I heard that one of them was waitering just to get silicone implants in her butt… Classy! The food is only marginally better and the owner is a tight fisted impersonal Dutch man who would be better off working in a brothel. Conclusion: fire your hick bar staff and the owner learn to be a human being… maybe your bar will survive!

I have never been so disgusted at a place in my life. I ordered a Wiskey sour which three of my friends tried, I was under the impression they accidentally used tequila instead of Whiskey. After 30 mins of sipping here and there I realized that the lemon that was swimming around my drink WAS75% FILLEDOFMOLD!!! I was so disgusted I went up to the bartender that was helping me and she had the audacity to question whether it was a lemon filled of mold, and asked another bartender where she said«of course it is, ew». I was so appalled of the situation. All the did was offer me another drink. Never coming back.

This is the worst place you will ever go to. God awful. I’m not sure which is worse, the food or the service. The Spot gives the Grove a bad name… Those beer lines though… yuck. Everything, everyone… NASTY

Still waiting for our dinner to be served … I guess they are unaware of how many people visit for the mango strut, orange bowl and the holidays in general.

My husband and I stopped in for a couple of drinks and a quick bite. The fish and pork tacos were delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Cool spot with great food in the Grove.

I attended a private party at this restaurant. I ordered two sandwiches and an appetizer. They took 57 minutes to bring the food with the excuse that the kitchen was an employee short. Not good. A nice place with good music but the service was not stellar.

Walk down to Green Street instead. Avoid this place at all costs. Worst service in Miami. When I tried to take my complaint to the manager/owner I was told he wasn’t there after I physically saw him there. I have never had servers argue with me when I went to complain like this place. Hopefully the massive Miami condo growth sprout consumes this space with something useful.

If you’re looking for a hearty and down to earth brunch, check out this spot in the Grove(better known as The Grove Spot). They have an all day breakfast menu. I ordered the Scotland’s Finest Eggs, which is a poached egg baked in bacon crust and topped with cheddar cheese. The eggs comes with a side of seasoned breakfast potatoes and your choice of toast. I went with the multigrain toast and it was really great toast(seriously), they give you butter and jam to go with it! Our group also shared an almond crusted croissant that had a sweet filling, which is hard to describe but was delicious! Perfect brunch-y sweet treat. You can get your cup o’ joe topped off to go with it! The prices are very fair and even though we ate inside, if I were with a smaller group I would have definitely enjoyed the outdoor seating. I would love to come back and try their happy hour as well as their dinner menu! Can’t believe it took me so long to try this place out! It’s right across from the Mayfair and next to the parking garage, so its pretty accessible!

Attended a lively networking event in the Grove Spots’s private(almost hidden) room and then stayed for dinner. Love the new delicious items on the menu! Finally settled on the Filet mignon salad with arugula, pineapple and just right amount of dressing. Out of town guests were delighted to discover a place with good food where the locals go and even happier when they got their check. A nice surprise from overpriced and over hyped meals they had elsewhere!

I’ve been here twice and both times the server was sub par. The first time was only for drinks to watch a game but the server was not pleasant so we drank our beers and left. The second time was for brunch. There is nice outdoor seating, and because the restaurant is not on a Main Street there is less traffic making it a little more quiet. We ordered the pancakes, egg sandwich and eggs and bacon with two orange juices. The waitress had to go over the order several times at the table and came back to quadrupole check after she rang it in and was still wrong.(Just write it down the first time) the pancakes were not good at all, the egg sandwich on a tortilla was at best a 3/5, and the bacon and eggs was a 3⁄5. If you can’t get make bacon and eggs than there’s something wrong. The orange juice was the best part, but they were $ 5 each in 6 oz glasses with ice… I wouldn’t recommend this place for brunch.

Food is majorly overpriced for the crappy quality and portions. I watched a whole family sit down, receive their waters, check out the menu, apologize to the server because the menu was«not what they thought it would be», then left. I don’t blame them! There are MUCH better places to eat in the Grove. Originally my boyfriend and I wanted to watch the game with our dog at Taurus(a much better bar/restaurant just down on Main Highway), but they don’t open until 4pm and the game we wanted to watch was airing earlier, so I indulged in the happy hour and the $ 7 spring rolls that had obviously come out of some prepackaged frozen situation. What REALLY got my goat was that the manager/owner practically hovered over his employees… and not in a good, efficient way. He ripped into the poor server that had the table with the family as if it was her fault that they left. Last time I checked, the servers aren’t in charge of the menu. But also, the way he spoke to his employees was clearly unprofessional and verbally abusive. My boyfriend and I assured her that she was not in the wrong and that she didn’t need to deal with this sort of horrible management. I hope she finds a new job soon!

Erica was such a great server. I hope I spelled her name right. Came here with my girlfriend after living in the grove for such a long time can’t believe we never came! She had the New York steak I had the chicken fajitas both were awesome! Chef came out made sure we were happy. Everything was very nice here! Live music, great food. Great prices. We happened to come on Wednesday which had cheap Heineken! I would recommend! Definitely coming back. Can’t wait to show my friends coming into town this place. If you live in the grove. And you know about the code… Nuff said.

Andy and I ducked in to meet the Wolfe before hitting the Arts Festival. I had a breakie sammy, Andy enjoyed sausage and eggs. JC the manager was a hit, our server was a cutie and efficient. Good value. Good flavor, good instagram special.

The Grove Spot is actually somewhat removed from the heart of the Grove. The drinks are simple, but the patrons seem to be more of the beer drinking types. The food is cheap and unfortunately tastes cheap with a flavor and consistency somewhere between truck stop and food cart. They do have entertainment, but because that varies so much and is so dependent upon a persons subjective tastes, I won’t bother to comment. The wait staff is, to be rather blunt about it, somewhat seemingly unskilled as well as untrained.
