So we have a rental income Condo in St Clair Shores and Sat night our renter calls to tell me A/​C out. Sunday morning I called Soley and a couple others as it was the hotest day of the year. The first company who I won’t name showed up did a quick diagnosis and told us Comp Shot and Pressures equal, running but not pumping, need new unit $ 3500. Sam from Soley came told him what happened. Said he would have a look and pointed out that compressor was never running as the Capacitor was shot. Pulled one off his truck and Bamm, A/​C working fine. Paid the $ 218 Sunday service visit and parts. Very reasonable I might add. Contacted Company one and they have voided my check. Company one has a good reputation however, they need to watch their techs more closely as it was the technician looking for an pay day that prompted him to try to sell new unit. Most Heating and Cooling contractors pay their technicians a commission for selling a job, and in many cases they also get to do the installation. So lesson here is always get a second opinion before you agree to a new Furnace, or Air Conditioner, and if you did not call Soley you should not only will you get an honest diagnosis, but a better price should you need the new unit. Soley is our GoTo Heating and Cooling Contractor from here out.
