Pizza was good but not great. I expected more from a company that claims so many awards. That being said, the pizza was good. Cheese stix were good. Antipasto salad was very good. I would order again but prices were not reasonable. I was asked to pay $ 35, but with coupon and extra toppings cost was $ 27.

Detroit style pizza Co has always been our go to pizza delivery. Not because it’s close. Because they always has such great fast service and good pizza. I ordered a small pizza which was $ 7 and the 899 wings. Our total was $ 23.00. Sorry that comes out to 16.00 + tax. When I called back, the teenager that answered my call thought it was pretty funny that I was asking why my order was 7 bucks more than what made sense. Get it together! Charge people for what they order. Alot of people won’t catch them adding a few $$ on their bill plus the customer tips the driver. I’m sorry I passed the good word along that this was the place to get great pizza! We will definitely find another pizza joint now.

My favorite pizza by far. The crust is flaky and crisp. The sauce is tangy. A wide array of options to choose from. Subs, salads, wings, breadsticks. I also like that they stay true to Detroit roots. Faygo beverages

The gluten free pizza is incredible. I was skeptical given that the gluten free pizza I have had at other places has been terrible. We tried two different gluten free pizzas and they were both great. The gluten free cinnamon sticks were great too. Unlike other places their pizza is full of flavor and a great deep dish. I would highly recommend them.

Just OK. Pricey. We ordered a Large Square Margarita, two small flat margaritas, one large square Detroit Deluxe+two antipasto and one Greek. Not that impressed. Thin crust wasn’t crispy. Limp even. The fresh basil on the margaritas was burnt. Sauce tasted good. Not sure if I’ll order again. For takeout Detroit style pizza I’ll stick with Jets.

My family loves the pizza! We are all on gluten free diets and that makes finding good pizza hard. They have the BEST gluten free pizza I’ve ever eaten!

It’s a great concept and even though they’ve got the awards to back it up, it’s still not that great. They’ll always be behind great Detroit style pizza joints like Buddy’s, Loui’s and Cloverleaf. The customer service is merely«meh.» The staff doesn’t know how to work the register properly nor do they do know the promotions offered. The pizza? Occasionally, you’ll get a good or even one — more likely you’ll get one that’s overcooked or even burnt. The odds are more favorable to go to Buddy’s(opening soon on Hayes just a few miles away) or even Jet’s.

This place is nothing short of garbage. Took 15 minutes upon walking in for anyone to come to the counter and take my order despite there being a line to the door. After ordering a pizza without an ingredient, 40 minutes later i am told that they put the ingredient on but the worker assured me he picked them off«as best as i could.» Needless to say this pizza isn’t nearly good enough to make me return. There are plenty of places that i would rather deal with, even a chain such as Jets. I won’t spend another dollar here nor will anyone i know. Publicity pays and at the end of the day, this place is nothing but over hyped mediocre pizza. Do your self a favor and go to any of the other pizza places(Luigis orginal, Supinos, Buddy’s etc.,) This place must have Hour Magazine on its payroll or they are just limited in their pizza experience. What a dump this place is.

Awful pizza. Burnt crust. Yeah it’s Detroit style, but it’s no Buddy’s.

Heard a lot about this pizza and couldn’t wait to try it. Last Friday my son and I were in the area and we ordered 3 pizza’s to take home. Two of the pizza’s were gluten free. The WORST gluten free pizza ever. Please don’t waste your $$$ like we regretfully wasted ours. Buddies remains the BEST all around!

Recently had a Detroit style large square pizza. VERYGOOD! Excellent crust. A lot of very tasty mushrooms Only 1 comment: We usually get Bacon and Mushroom. Instead of the bacon being chopped up it was laid on the pizza in slices and came off as a whole slice when biting into it. Would have given 5 stars except for the whole slice bacon. Val

Solid pizza place. Similar to buddy’s but obviously not as good but it holds it own. I really enjoyed the tangy BBQ pizza from here

Read the review in the Chronicle and had to give it a try. It lived up to the hype! I ordered two pizzas online at 4:30 and indicated I didn’t want it delivered until 6:15. At almost exactly 6:15 the pizza was on my porch. I ordered the standard pepperoni pizza for my son and his friend, and the margarita pizza for my wife and I. We all said it was the best pizza we ever had! Great crust and fresh ingredients. We have definitely found our new Home Field pizza!

On 10/05/2012, I ordered from the Detroit Style Pizza Co. Here is a quick breakdown of my experience: Ordering Process: * Everything went smoothly. They were friendly and courteous. Delivery Process: * It took about an hour for them to deliver to me. I thought that was a bit long, but they may have been very busy. It was a cold, rainy Friday night and they are fairly new. They delivered mostaccioli instead of spaghetti. No big deal. They forgot to bring a large antipasto salad. The driver quickly offered to return to the store and get it. The Food:
* Chicken Wings — Average: I tried the Hot & Spicy and the Italian Style. They were about on par with the wings at Little Caesars. * Antipasto Salad — Average: This is no Buddy’s salad to say the least. I would guess that the Italian dressing came from GFS. It had a good variety of toppings. I would have preferred more of the meat and cheese. * Pasta — Average: As noted, I could not try the spaghetti as they accidentally delivered mostaccioli. Their marinara sauce is made with ground beef and sausage. I inquired if I could get the pasta with a meatless sauce. They accommodated by giving a side of cold pizza sauce used for breadstick dipping. I wish they informed me upon ordering what their plan was. Ultimately, the sauce was tasty and a few seconds in the microwave warmed it right up. However, I would have preferred an actual meatless pasta sauce that arrived hot. * Pizza — Above Average: This is where they shine. I tried the traditional round with just cheese on it. It was great. Their pizza has a unique flavor. It was very tasty. It was not greasy. The crust was soft yet chewy. Their pie is not the typical stuff you get from the chain places. Everything tasted fresh. All the ingredients just came together. It is no surprise that their pizza recipe has won prestigious awards. I would definitely place an order again. Yeah, they have a few things to work out and my overall experience was average. They got 4 stars because pizza at a pizza place holds the most weight in my evaluation. After all, they are called the Detroit Style Pizza Company, not the Detroit Style Wings/Pasta/Salad Company. They excel where it counts; they make a great pie. I look forward to trying their Detroit Style Deep Dish Square. The hard part will be deciding whether to get the Chicken Caesar, the Tangy BBQ Chicken, or the Motor City Meatball pizza.

After reading an article in the C&G newspaper, we decided to try this place out. I have a hard time with pizza… I’m very picky about crust, the way it’s layered and the sauce. I was a bit of a skeptic because it is «Detroit Style»(think Buddy’s) but we got this pizza– cheese & pepperoni because our 3yr old loves it & an order of bread. The first bite of bread told me this place was different. I absolutely LOVED the pizza. It is honestly the best pizza I have ever had! We have had it TWICE in one week since we found it– it’s just THAT good! They put the perfect amount of yummy sauce and the pepperoni is a touch spicy without being overdone. I will also say that the pizza is JUST as good re-heated the next day, which is always a hard thing to find. We definitely have found our new pizza place HOME.
