We stopped here prior to catching a flick next door at the Cedar Lee Theatre. This bar is a bar and A-ok in my book. You’re not going to find food here, so come prepared with your snacks or eat prior too. When I say its a bar, that’s what it is. The bartender was kind and appropriately attentive. She was happy to help put me in the«right» beer if I needed the assistance. They have a ton of whiskey selections if you’re in the mood. There’s a very small«patio». But this place is long, narrow, and dark. I pleasant throw-back to a pervious era of drinking. I’d go again.

Great hole in the wall pub with great specials and a great owner! Was in Cleveland on business and randomly stopped into this place to grab a beer and watch an NBA game and was pleasantly surprised! 20oz Uinta Cutthroat for $ 3! The owner, Mr. Parnell himself, was working the bar and said whenever he gets deals from his distributer he passes it on the the customers, which is the way it should be! As it was a Tuesday and expectedly slow got to chat with him all game about bball, skiing, family, his childhood in Ireland, etc. Great guy! Simple, divey place. If you want or expect something else get over it and go elsewhere. It is what it is and it’s great for it.

My favorite bar in the Cleveland area. A brew before(or after) a movie at the Cedar Lee is my favorite, but Parnell’s is also a place where you can have a drink with a friend and actually hear the other person. The staff are all very friendly. If you’re looking for a traditional Irish pint, this is the place to go.

Parnells is great in it’s own quirky way! It’s honestly more deserving of 3 stars, but I had to give it the 4th since it is one of my favorites! They have a decent beer and liquor selection(I don’t think they serve wine?), and will let you bring in or order food from any of the local places as they don’t have a kitchen. But they do have an Autofry! One of my favorite Parnell quotes was when I asked the bartender was food was good there. The answer? «Nothing.» He was right, but its worth the cost to watch that crazy machine in action! Otherwise Parnells has a decent amount of TVs and a couple of dartboards. It’s just your average local Irish pub, and I love that about it!

Seemingly nice enough place for a veritable dive bar. There were the usual suspects here… the after work crowd, the peevy old man regulars, the biker dudes, etc. I wasn’t particular impressed with the bartender he was a little dry and cold, in my opinion. Lighten up guy! You work in a drinking establishment… the recipe for a good bartender should be pour drinks + smile(repeat) = good tips + happy customers! Unfortunately for Parnell’s, I likely won’t be back.

Parnell is a quaint little pub. Head over there after it before a movie at the Cedar Lee, which makes it even better if you have a ticket stub. There is pub food but I usually venture to Parnell’s for the drinks. The prices are a little up there so I don’t frequent for that reason. I am no beer snob, so I couldn’t list off their tap list, but there were lots that I’ve never heard of. I always seem to opt for the cider on tap when I am there. Yum yum.

A good traditional irish pub. Perfect place to watch soccer/footie and grab a pint.

I love Parnell’s. The cozy hold in the wall bar where you make friends with locals and bartenders. Just don’t order food that comes from the fry-o-matic. Gross.

Tried this this friendly pub while visiting Cleveland on our pilgrimage to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This is where I discovered that I really liked Left Hand Milk Stout. Had a great time chatting up the regulars and talking craft beers with James the Bartender!

Ugh. The bar owner told the bartender and the bartender concurred that I was loaded and not to serve me. I had a stroke! About six months ago! Walking is a challenge! I am certainly not the first person this has happened to! His boss(and he) saw me walk in, unsteadily and with help from my girlfriend. My friend stopped to finish her story and that’s when he told us. I said«look, buddy» and actually told him given that it’s the second time this has happened to me. He didn’t care. I will never go here again. Totally tired of it. By the way, I am the first person to cut myself off(at that time I had one beer). I just want to walk and not have people look at me.

Even if bartender supreme Declan was not an acquaintance of mine, this would still be my kind of place. Blissfully free of bullshit, loaded with more than a dozen taps, and fast and friendly service. Lots of whiskey selections, too. If I lived closer, I’d take advantage of the whiskey tastings. It’s dark, seems smaller than it actually is, and usually has soccer on one or more screens. It’s a good place with outstanding beer.

I swear you pay an extra dollar on everything for the atmosphere that only half the establishment has. granted, its a VERY pretty bar, just nothing that I haven’t seen elsewhere. decent beer selection and a nice whiskey selection, but nothing special. The only thing is that the fries are the best you can get outside of 4th street downtown. sublime.

I think this bar is alright. Not much to say about it. Come here and you will probably know what I am saying.

I have never tried the food here, but they have a great beer selection and the location is perfect for a quick drink before a movie or after dinner. It’s definitely not an upscale place but the interior is fun and laid back.

We popped in here for a «quick one» before going to a movie at the Cedar Lee. This is my kind of place: A no-nonsense drinking bar. Dark, somewhat worn, this is a place for serious drinking. Nobody is fiddling with their phones and updating their facebook page to brag about being here. If you want to listen to throw-away top 40 music while sipping your skinny-girl margarita, then go to Houlihan’s and stay away from this place!

I personally don’t like this bar very much. Why? I think that they’re racist: twice I went in there with black guys, and since I’m a white girl, I guess, they gave me dirty looks. Secondly, their drinx are way too expensive, over-rated, and the bar, well, you’re right everyone, is dark, dank, with dark lighting, aaaaaaaand it’s just downright depressing… Please Parnell’z: make way for a better Pub!!! Jimmy O’Neill’s is wayyyyy better, so why do they have to close??? Wahhhh… Life is unfair!!! Their drinks are too expensive and they’re pushy like MOSTBARS. Thanks everyone!

I still don’t know why I love this bar so much, but I feel so warm and cozy every time I have a pint here. There isn’t one thing I can write that sticks out and would make you want to go, it just always feels right. Just a quaint little pub with no drama(see city east), no dubious college buffoons(see paninis), no pretension(see b-side ½ the week), no ghetto faboulousness(see b-side other ½ of the week). Go in and hide from the world enjoying your favorite draft(or should I put draught. hmmm) and relax. Staff is friendly and always ready to chat if you’re waiting for a buddy or sig. other with your spare keys for your locked car at CVS; which coincidentally is how I found this place

First off, good beer selection and just a good«bar» vibe. Not bright, not barren on a Monday night, but a good solid bar. However, when I went there the service was horribly surly. I got the feeling like we were bothering the server by asking for two beers and an order of fries to go. And this was on a Monday, so the place had patrons, but it was by no means slammed. I say save your money and saunter down to O’Neils, I loved our time there.

I think this is one of the most over rated bars in town. It smells and looks straight out of the 1970’s. I do not find that endearing; just lazy. When I was there a couple of weeks ago we ordered 3 draughts and there was only enough for one of us. The bartender offered to «mix» what was left with a different substance to make some sort of drink. I think that should have at least warranted a free beer, but the mix she created actually cost more than the draught alone. My friend’s next 2 choices were also out. I just don’t get why people pee their pants over this place. Yeah, it is located on a «fun» street but it is no fun. I am sort of mad it blocks a better bar from taking the location. Yep. I said it. Their stools are off balance; I kept sliding right off the stool. My friend did too.

Parnell’s is one of my favorite pubs in the Cleveland area. It is cozy and has a nice happy hour. The staff are friendly and pour great mixed drinks and they have a large variety of beer to choose from. I am always impressed with their Guinness, they really pour a nice pint. Parnell’s has a outdoor patio area that is really nice and wonderful for bigger groups and parties. Parnell’s attracts a nice crowd, even during the week. They are always hopping on Friday’s and Saturday’s. I have eaten at Parnell’s several times, it is typical pub food and there is usually a hearty serving, so good to share if you have a group of people. I really enjoy going out for the drinks and the overall atmosphere of the pub. It is pretty well know in the Cleveland area as Parnell’s. I rarely hear it being referred to as Charles Stewart Parnell’s. No matter what you call it, it is a top notch place to come and have a great time!
