We booked this motel last minute, after deciding we didn’t want to camp overnight this past labor day weekend. Admittedly, I read the first review by Keith W and thought okay great we’ll do it. I mistakenly did not read the second review and alas, it is much more accurate. This place at first glance looks cute, VERY country and old fashioned, but look closer and it is filthy. There was dog hair all over the piece of remnant carpet on the floor. There were cobwebs everywhere and stains on the carpet by the edge of the bed. We got in fairly late that evening, so we just held our breath and dealt with it(I might mention the lake smell in this part of the area is enough to make you run). Georgia was sweet when she checked us in, however the next morning when we mentioned the issues with our cabin and our disappointment, I could barely finish my sentence before she interrupted and start arguing about how she works so hard, till 3 am, how her husband has died and its so hard on her, how they clean the cobwebs twice a day(no way that’s possible with the cobwebs in our cabin). We even took her in and pointed out the stained carpet and dog hair but to no avail, just more excuses. We asked for half the price back and she did give it, but not without a major sob story of how old she is and how hard it is to rent there. Make the trek up further to Nice or Lakeport, but DONOT stay here.

The other posts are correct this is no 5 star… nor is it a 1 star. This«resort» might be the single dirtiest place I’ve ever stayed… just look at the pictures. At only $ 100 a night it’s cheap for the area but drive further and pay a little more. There is nothing charming or quaint about it. –No curtains in bathroom –See through curtains in main room –Extremely dirty –Linens did not look fresh, prob dirty –I got bit by a bug which was hiding in the bed –we ran from this place so should you The owner was nice however…

For the price, this place is amazing! And Georgia, the owner, is terrific. The cabins are quaint and are not a five star resort, but the property is right on the lake, and we stayed on a beautiful weekend, made breakfast in our own kitchen, and ate at a table on the lake front, watching the birds and ducks. And it’s a half an hour from Harbin Hot Springs. I highly recommend the Linger Longer Resort.

Okay, so this is NO5 star Hilton or luxury spot, but what a cute, cozy little place on the lake. Our car broke down one night and we had to stay. Needed a cheap, but not scary place. Manager was super friendly and it was just a really nice, unexpected extra night away. And, I’m a movie/tv fanatic — especially the old shows. We had the«Mertzes» cottage. Perfect! Loved the little old fashioned kitchen. Was great for us as this was really an unexpected extra expense! Will post a pic or two.
