We’ve been here 4 — 5 times and the food is always great, as is the service. Unfortunately I will never eat here again because of the following incident. The couple seated next to us got up to pay at the register and I noticed a $ 5 bill folded up, laying on the floor, UNDER his chair. I picked it up off the floor and gave it to the customer, explaining that it was under his chair. Later, one of the staff(seems to be the manager) came up and told me that the $ 5 bill must have been the tip because the customer didn’t leave one at the register. They acted like I should make up the $ 5 that they didn’t get. I was so irritated at this rudeness that any future meal here would be tainted so I’m not going back. Worst of all is that I was looking forward to taking my whole family there for Father’s Day. Now we’ll just to somewhere else instead. Too bad for me because this was one of my favorite places to eat.

I honestly have no idea why I never Unilocaled this place before. My favorite sushi place by far. They treat you so well, have delicious food and they are priced way too reasonably. 99 cent sake bombs and you can drink with the workers(if they aren’t too busy). Seriously try it and you won’t regret it. My boyfriend and I come 2 – 3 times a week we just can’t get enough

We had to come to Claremont and were in the mood for sushi. We were lucky to come across this place. The service was great as was the food. In particular, the rolls were delicious. Will definitely be back whenever we are in the neighborhood.

Food poisoning after eating their salmon sushi yesterday! I’m disgusted. I’ve eaten sushi AYCE many times and never got sick before. I had their Philadelphia roll and salmon sushi around 2:30pm yesterday. Starting puking(both ends) at 10:30pm after rolling around with the worst stomach pains all evening. And I’m willing to bet when I go in there today they won’t offer me my money back. They ruined sushi for me — not worth it

Great food, horrible service, extremely rude waiters. Love this place just can’t get over how unnecessarily rude they are! So the last few times I have been here it looks like they have hired new waiters ! Yay!

Do yourself a favor and never step foot in this place… I have been going here off and on for 3 years… It’s decent to say the most… But after today I’m through!!! I went in with my family of 3 to eat… They have 3 booths big enough for 4 or 5 people and two Giant booths that sit 6 people both were empty… While the three smaller were occupied… The rest of the restaurant was empty… I asked them if we could sit in a booth and they said those are for 6 or more… I said, I dont see anyone waiting??? Would it be ok? The young guy said ok… But then his manager came in and refused to give us a menu while we sat for nearly 10 min… He insisted we sit at the tables… I said are these reserved… He said no… They would rather us stand for 30min for a 5 seated both than sit right away for a 6 seater both??? «Really!!» They just want us to sit at the table… I mean really? The place is empty its Sunday late afternoon and they are banking on customers that aren’t even there… Terrible service!!! I will never go here ever again!!!

Came here for the first time the other night. I read positive reviews on Unilocal and we don’t live too far so we decided to come try it out. My daughter ordered the dinner where you can pick 2 items, so she chose beef teriyaki and California rolls, it came with rice, salad, miso soup and an orange wedge for about $ 12. My other daughter and I ordered the Philadelphia rolls and Washington rolls, we also ordered 2 orders of the albacore sushi(4 pieces), 2 of the fatty yellowtail sushi and 2 of the salmon sushi. The rolls were good, tasted fresh and the service was not bad at all. We paid about $ 50 for our entire meal. The restaurant was clean, not too busy and it was about 7pm on a Tuesday night. They have a sushi bar, however we had a table by the window. For those who don’t know this location is walking distance to the Village in Claremont, it is on the corner of Foothill & Bonita. I recommend this restaurant and I would come again.

Terrible service, especially this one man. Was insulting us in Korean and the food is not even good. My friend had food poisoning after eating. Highly recommend not to go here, but sushi cruise or hayato which has better service and food quality.

Party of two no wait, The sushi here is good, I ordered the all you can eat special, which was on a special that day. The music they played was good, all the popular bits that are out right now. I just think the place needs a little cleaning, as in under the tables needs some vacuuming. Didn’t look so clean for being carpet. Other than that it was good. Would come again.

A 3-star average for this restaurant seems super harsh. The first couple times I went in here, I had the same waiter(Jun). Within my next few visits, Jun remembered me by name, would ask me questions about things we had discussed the time before, and referred to me as a «regular». The whole staff here is incredibly nice. Yes, sometimes they get bogged down and busy, but they have a nice system going where you can stop nearly any server and they will get you what you need. When this place isn’t swamped, they pump out rolls with awesome efficiency. The Firecracker and Hooters(ha.) roll are my favorites. The Avocado Bomb is also a pretty solid appetizer. Really bent outta shape about this place? They have 98 cent sake bombs and 3 dollar pints ALLDAYEVERYDAY so tip a couple back and chill out. You’re not going to get tuna belly straight from Japan caught the night before for 7 bucks a roll.

Great restaurant, offer good quality and good quantity meals for a great price as well. Would highly recommend the California roll, always one of my favorites. Everything is extremely fresh, service is great, and I would definitely visit again if given the chance: D

This is a gluten-free friendly sushi spot located in Claremont village. When my boyfriend and I dined here last week, our waitress was very knowledgable about gluten and let me know if any of the rolls I was interested in ordering were made with wheat-containing soy sauce. On the menu, they also clearly list which rolls contain imitation crab, which is made with wheat. Each table has a bottle of classic soy sauce, but they’ll bring you the gluten-free kind upon request. For anyone with Celiac or a gluten allergy, this place is definitely a safe sushi joint for dining! This restaurant offers great lunch and dinner specials if you choose to dine-in, as well as all-you-can-eat deals. My boyfriend and I tried to order a lunch special to-go, but they let us know they were only available for dining-in. As an FYI, I haven’t found an accurate menu with the specials listed anywhere online, so your best bet is to visit this restaurant in-person. Despite the negative reviews about their customer service, when my boyfriend and I dined here last week for lunch the service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, delivered our dishes promptly and was quick to refill our Diet Cokes. Definitely no slow or rude service for us! I ordered the lunch special with two rolls for $ 17.95, which came with a salty and savory bowl of miso soup and a crisp salad with Asian dressing as appetizers. I chose the«Green Philadelphia Roll»(a classic Philadelphia roll with avocado on top) and the«Rainbow Roll»(made with an assortment of fish). A team of sushi chefs at the counter(which you can sit at) make the rolls fresh. I preferred the Green Philadelphia Roll to the Rainbow Roll, as the tuna in a few of the Rainbow Roll pieces was a bit dry. The ambiance of this restaurant is better suited for lunch, as it’s very bright inside and there are TV’s on the walls; in other words, it’s not the most romantic location for a candle-lit dinner for two. There’s free parking on the street and in a lot in the back!

This place is great for all you can eat the service was fast and refills were done at a good pace. I really liked their selection of sushi rolls I would definitely recommend anyone who has a large group of people to come here for all you can eat. I mean seriously if your death wish is to eat this is the place to go. like for instance if you feel like stuffing yourself to the point where you do not know what to do about yourself then this is the place to go but please make sure that you order A large sake to go with it or else the ambience just won’t really connect. this is mandatory If you’re one of those people in Claremont that used to live here and hated it your entire childhood, this is probably a place to go because it’s kind of removed from the bullsh*t of the village and all the re-gentrification that has occurred over the past 10 years they play great music that makes you want to eat all your problems away That’s why I give this place 5 stars best AYCE

This was my favorite sushi spot untill now. The customer service is horrible now, there seems to be new staff who are rude, won’t attend to you, and make you wait. I also make phone orders to pick up since I prefer carry out, but lately the phone line just rings or goes to voice mail after the fist ring. It seems like they ignore phone calls now. Which is terrible since they are a buissness they need to attend to all their customers. If customer service is important to you, don’t bother you feel welcomed here.

Why only 3 stars? First star is for that sort of twinkle twinkle but they still make you wonder why… Why so unorganized — Friday night should be easy as pie for a business that has been doing it for over two years. I observed confusion on who to give the food to. I watched a server almost give away our sushi to another table until the sushi chef pointed out to him verbally to give it to our table. Why did our server or servers forget the Edamame? We didn’t make a fuss out of it since we were full from the sushi. Second star is for some of the delicious food. The Unagi was just the way I like it. A bit burnt on the edges and not too much of the teriyaki sauce. I wish they lessened the rice portion. The uni was almost non-existent. And why is the Ikura limited? Why!!!(Hands in the air) whyyyyyy!!! Third star is for their effort! Although they were busy each of the young servers were always asking us we needed something. The older servers not so much. It was like a mixture of The A-team and B-team. Will I be back for some more King Kong Sushi? Who knows… Claremont has other eateries that have stepped up and I had taken notice of after walking off the sushi I ate.

My boyfriend took me here for their lunch AYCE. He spoke good of this place which made me excited! We got there some time after they opened, so there weren’t many people, which I thought was good because our orders would come out quick, which they did. Haha. So, we order tuna, salmon, yellowtail, tuna rolls, pink eyes roll, and omg roll. All of these were good, with an exception to the omg roll. I wasnt much of a fan of this one, maybe because the tortilla in it was overpowering everything else. The fishes were very fresh, melted in my mouth. Sashimi should always be fresh at a sushi place. It was sooo good! Aside from the sushi, we ordered takoyaki, miso soup, baked mussels, and their spicy edamame. I normally dont like takoyaki, but the way they make theirs was delicious! I may only have takoyaki only at this place. Lol. Their baked mussels were good as well. We had 4 ordered. Everything was very good, which included their service. Very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back!
