The closest to eating legit fish tacos this side of the border. Don’t be confused by the identical looking manager and chef. they’re identical twins. Cuates is slang for twins in Spanish. The food is delicious, fresh and the recipes are legitimate Baja food. Among the things I love. Fish tacos, Taco gobernador(melted cheese with seafood), ceviche de pescado, ceviche de camaron,(shrimp or fish ceviche; cured in lemon juice, served with side or corn crips and lots of salsas), Shrim tacos. even tacos de birrria(this is beef stew). Super affordable, informal, family owned, DELICIOUS mexican seafood… we love it here! Lots of metered parking, nice little neighborhood with yummy mexican bread across the street.

Me gusta! I loved the loud music and ambience I understand that it might not be for everyone but I for one enjoyed it. I ordered coctel de Cameron and it was fresh tasting and plentiful.

My fiancé and I have come here two times. Both times we received awesome service from one of the twins. He was quick to take our order and attentive the whole time. I had the ceviche de camaron. My fiancé did too along with a taco(I forgot the name) but it’s the one with arracheda and shrimp. He really liked it. The ceviche is one of the best I’ve had in a while. I loved the flavor of it. We decided that we found our new mariscos spot and we will definitely be back!

First time here food was excellent!!! Friendly server we felt welcome as soon as we walked in. Both plates of tacos were loaded with shrimp(they are not shy with their shrimp). I will definitely return especially for their Black Friday happy hour!

Great service great food. Place is nice and spacious and restrooms are clean. You get a consume with your food. They also take your order off an iphone and it sends the other to some ipad in the back for the chef to see. Prices are very good and you can tell the owners run a tight ship. They have an ipod out in the eatinf area that you can go up and change the music to your liking. Will definitely be back. Found my new mariscos spot

Absolutely LOVE this place! Me and my mom found this place last year and from the very beginning they don’t fail to impress! Friendly staff and AMAZING food, especially the ceviche. Fish ceviche is $ 3 and so good! Normally I don’t like the way fish ceviches are made but this one is awesome. I also love their aguachile and like the fact that you can pick your own level of spice. They give you a good amount of avocado too, unlike other places that give you a little sliver over your ceviche. And don’t let me forget the Micheladas!!! $ 4.50 for a HUGE glass. Can’t beat this place, so happy they are close to home too! Downtown 3rd Ave in Chula Vista

Great service, friendly staff, clean and decorative dining area… Had the Chimichanga(carne asada) which was not on menu but they made it on request. Came w/seafood soup, rice, beans, and salad… Great presentation of food preparation. Delicious home made salsa w/chips… Our glasses were always filled… We all left fully satisfied. I give this please an: A+++ in my book…

Food is delicious. Includes a soup with your entrée. Portions are extremely generous and the price is decent too. Staff is very attentive and warm and do a great job of explaining the food to you– even for our non-spanish speakers. I had the tacos Culichi and the grilled fish tacos, both excellent choices

Headed to LA from Tijuana we found this place on Unilocal.Let me tell you, we were not disappointed. This place is clean, friendly and delicious. Parking is easily accessible, and it’s not hard to find. Our waiter Javier was super friendly and turned out to be owners and one of the cuates. I had 3 tacos, gobernador, perron and birria. I know odd combination, but I had to try all the tacos the fellow Unilocalers suggested. My favorite was el gobernador; it was shrimp and cheese. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The others were just as good Tho. The birria was nice and seasoned and the tortillas were hechas a mano. Everything was good including the tableside chips. No complaints about this place and I will definitely come back when I’m in town. out, Chula Vista

Great spot for Mexican seafood. Fish tacos were 2 for 1! Ceviche was excellent. Fresh with big chunks of fish. The taco Perron is a must. Delicious! Great service too.

First-time here and Yup I give it the five stars !! Service was great !! Food was sooooooo good ! We ordered the ceviche, camarones cucarachas, and about 4 fish tacos and a taco governador everything was delicious !! My pictures will speak for it self !! Definitely will be back to try more plates !! I think the only thing I didn’t really like was the horchata water it needed more flavor and wasn’t good… Other than that I definitely recommend this place to everyone !!

Not a great place to eat. The ambience of this place is ridiculous… music too loud and the TV on at the same time. Customer service was awful, it seem like our waiter was hiding something, like scared of something. The food was awful. I had the aguachile. It was plain without any flavor

First impression from the outside: Really? This is the place? Doesn’t look like much from the outside but let’s do this… When you walk in it is an interesting mix of casual yet it does not look like your standard hole in the wall taco shop. There is fresh blue paint on the walls, upbeat music playing and flatscreen TVs with soccer on. I really appreciate the simple yet colorful layout of their restaurant. I ordered a shrimp cocktail. I am half mexican so I love me a good shrimp cocktail. I had high hopes bc of the reviews and it was NOT a crash-and-burn experience but I have had better. Unfortunately they over season their seafood and that completely killed it for me. The shrimp is supposed to be the star but it tasted like way too much chili powder or some other red powder(paprika? I dont know.). The ppl who work here were very friendly and I’m giving them an extra star for that bc I was there during an electricity blackout & they handled it well. I’d say«maybe worth a try for the locals but not come on a mission just to try this place. Bottom line: overrated». Drove 40 mins to get here & the food did not deliver. Disappointed!

The seafood served here is truly unique and trusted and has some of the best aguachiles that are known to me in San Diego county. They add plenty of butterflied shrimp and ask how you would prefer the shrimp served. I went with a blend of half and half marinated already shrimp instead of just all raw or completely cooked shrimp aguachile. On top they serve almost an entire avocado sliced and add thick slices of orange which only compliments the aguachiles more. Don’t know any other place that presents the plate of aguachiles so elegantly. Fish tacos are large and satisfying. Could match any other trucke or mariscos shop in the south. I’ve ordered the marlin before and remember being completely stuffed after only one taco. Proper amount of marlin meat to cheese to grilled veggies proportion. Would order again. Probably my favorite thing about this place is the combination specials they have with a drink, and the staff have always been accommodating on every visit of mine. Thus the five stars. Only wish they would have consistent hours because they have been closed on several occasions when I have come. The hours open are very confusing.

Bumping our review to 5 stars! Cesar remembered us and he really tries to remember and take care of customers, we really appreciated that. He also thanked us for our Unilocal review! The 2 for 1 fish tacos are a must! Also the gobernador– my favorite! LOVE how they have bottles of crema & chipotle so you can put however much sauce you want! Food has been consistently great and fresh! This is our go-to spot for mariscos!(:

Wow, wow, wow! Please eat here. I want them to stay in business. I live 3 blocks away and I drove past this place without seeing it since it opened seven months ago because it HASNOSIGN! I found it on Unilocal and couldn’t believe it had been here all along. This is like eating at the Ensenada fish market — fresh, authentic seafood, Mexican style. We got aguachile(raw shrimp in very spicy green sauce) which came with a huge piece of avocado. Also the breaded fish plate — tasty, well cooked fish with some grilled carrots and peppers, and rice. Bonus: They have the Mexican coke in the glass bottles without HFCS! Best part? There’s no kids meal menu. But the waiter suggested the 2-for-$ 1 fish tacos. A big hit! Healthy kid eats for cheap!

On a Food High! Somehow my eating partner and I managed to spend over $ 30 here! It was a celebration, I guess. The micheladas are $ 4.50 and enormous! We got the fish ceviche, a mixed burrito with shrimp and fish, and two grilled fish tacos: one with culichi sauce and one with mango sauce. There are tons of sauces to choose from. First, the tacos. They are $ 3 – 4 each and you can choose fish, shrimp, marlin, and I think octopus. The fish was beautifully white, grilled, and a generous portion. The sauce was slathered on. I liked both, but the mango stood out. I was impressed that it was not too sweet like mango-flavored things tend to be. The culichi sauce was like a poblano flavor that was also good but not my favorite. The ceviche was my favorite thing. For just $ 3, it’s an amazing deal. It came with tostadas and was just fresh and tasty. The mixed burrito was enjoyed by my eating partner. He loved it and was impressed that the shrimp was not chewy, which he says is a common issue. For the table, we were brought tortilla chips, salsa, marinated onions, and limes. I believe we were supposed to get a consommé but it didn’t materialize, but that was ok. It was more than enough food and we ended up taking half the burrito home. If I went again, I would get a fish ceviche to share and one taco. That would be enough for me! We were thrilled to find a casual, delicious & inexpensive Mexican seafood joint like this. We are never in Chula Vista – I think I can count the times I’ve been there on one hand – but we may make this our new stop on the way home from treks to the Las Americas outlets.

So excited to try this place. Big open dining area and TV is a good sign. Great menu is a better sign. Some of the specials are super deals. Got the 2 taco combo plate with marlin and diablo skrimp that comes with green beans, rice, cup of soup and chips. Fuggin’ deal! Even tried the horchata with strawberries. The tables are official with a impressive selection of hot sauces. Such a simple concepts that gets me giddy every time. Giant mug of horchata hits the table. Not a fan of the strawberry flavor added, but still good. Great salsa for the chips and the cup of soup was a nice surprise on a cool fall morning. Green beans and rice were so good. Can’t put my finger on what they did to the green beans, but some of the best I’ve had. Marlin was pretty good. The smoke is what it’s all about and making me want more of it. The diablo taco fell short. They have their own style of diablo I wasn’t feeling. Definitely not bad. Need to get back here to try more dishes and take advantage of their killer day specials. Staff here is the best.
