Fun box was great for lunch the offer 15 choices and every box comes with 1 can of soda . I had the honey walnut shrimp and it’s awesome …

I don’t know if we caught non regular chef on a Sunday or if this is really the quality of the food. So many positive Unilocal reviews here so I’m kind of at a loss for words…“not!” Absolutely the quantity is plenty but that doesn’t matter if the food doesn’t taste good. If you have read any of my other reviews of Chinese restaurants you know I can be picky because I lived in Taiwan for a short time and worked in a Chinese restaurant for several years. Let’s just say I know my way around a good kung pao and that is the 1st dish I try when going to a new Chinese restaurant as it’s a good barometer for quality and authenticity. As soon as I saw the dish I knew this wasn’t a typical kung pao as I could see the red ketchup practically dripping from the dish. I wish I had taken a picture. Anyway, suffice it to say it was way too sweet(from too much sugar and ketchup) and also very oily. The upshot was that I literally counted 8 peanuts in the entire dish. So then I go to taste better half’s Szechuan beef. That sauce should be completely different. As he bit into my kung pao and I his Szechuan beef our eyes widened…“it’s the same sauce!” There wasn’t even one Szechuan pepper in his dish. The egg rolls were greasy, bland and only had cabbage. In fact, the check in Unilocal deal for 2 eggrolls only comes if you order a large main dish(not one of the lunch specials). That seems a little misleading… don’t bother as they are not even worth being free. I know I sound harsh so I’ll end saying that the service was perfectly fine and the hot and sour soup tasted pretty decent. One other slight offense. There were two chinese people eating in the restaurant and they were given chopsticks and we were handed forks. Just a slight pet peeve, but it bugs me.

Food is good. Service is slow. They never seem to have enough servers. I’ll prob go back until someplace better opens around here.

Great place, was greeted right away and sat down, was offered water and the waitress went through the menu with me as I asked questions. The food is amazing and tastes great. Sorry Panda Express I found my Chinese Food and it’s not even far from where I live. I plan to come here more often now.

The food here is great! This place is probably my favorite chinese restaurant to eat at. People I know who have eaten here say they really like the food as well.

I returned to order the Beef Fried Rice to go. I was disappointed at the blandness. It was not as tasty like their Chicken Fried Rice. The beef was tough to chew and had no taste.

Unilocal has been recommending this place to me forever, and I finally got out and tried it. I’ve heard a lot about their Salt and Pepper wings and the Kung Pow Chicken. I tried to call in because their Unilocal profile mentioned to-go orders. I was going to call in and sneak in to pick up the food(as one does.) I called and no one answered. I called again. I called again 10 minutes later. No one answered all night on a Tuesday night at 6pm. I checked their hours, and they were open. Now I will not turn to this joint right around the corner from my house for pick up! I went in with my uncle the next week for dinner. We were sat immediately and tended to carefully by the friendly server. She forgot our order and had to come back to ask a couple times. She was slammed with the whole dining room so I won’t blame this on her. We got free egg rolls when we checked in to Unilocal.I ordered Kung Pow Chicken and Salt and Pepper wings, of course! The kung pow chicken was GREAT! it had a lovely flavor and filled with large pieces of chicken, peanuts, and peppers. We got the small serving and couldn’t battle through half the plate together. Nice prices for fair servings! I am not sure if I can gather words to describe the perfection of these Salt and Pepper wings. They are perfectly crispy and perfectly breaded and perfectly seasoned. They were piping hot. As my uncle said, «This proves whoever is back in the kitchen is the owner.» They were the showstopper. Those amazing wings are sure to bring me back.

Just moved to the area and was craving some hot and sour soup and fried dumplings. I have been to many locations for these items, and found the quality and taste surpassed some of my east coast favorite places. I would like the typical dipping sauce for the fried dumplings, they had a red sweet sauce w ginger that was ok. I like my dark sodium ginger soy sauce. I also wish they had combo dinner meals. Small and quaint location. I will return again for a full meal.

Tried this place for the first time a few nights ago. We ordered the orange chicken, house noodles and salted wings. Everything tasted delicious. I like that they ask you if you want your chicken spicy or not spicy… in that sense it’s very kid friendly. My kids are not big on spice so they loved their food. I would definitely come here again!

I came here for the first time after reading other reviews. I was not disappointed. The service was great and the food was awesome. We had the most delicious moist and flavorful garlic chicken(never had that before) and the Broccoli Beef with Chinese broccoli(was pleased they served it with Chinese broccoli because most places do not have it). The portions were nice sizes and the quality seemed very good. I think we will go back soon and try other dishes as recommended. My husband and I are sold on this place and will remain loyal customers as long as the staff remain so friendly and attentive and the food continues to be top notch! The restaurant was empty when we visited on a Saturday night at around 8 p.m. There was only one other couple, but we got our food fast and hot. The only thing I can say could have been improved is that there were boxes stacked up in the corner of the restaurant right when you walk in, It was a bit of an eye sore, but easily overcome with the other benefits. See you soon!

Came here for the first time on a Sunday. The food was good but I wish their menu had lunch specials on weekends like many other Chinese food places. The food was really good and portions were generous. Got two free egg rolls as well by checking-in on Unilocal.Food came with rice but did not come with soup. Reasonable price. Service was good. Will come here again.

I was grabbing some Starbucks and I noticed they had a really great lunch special. I decided to Unilocal the place to see what they have to offer and I decided to grab 2 lunch combos. They have 2 options. I’m sorry I can’t remember the prices but I got the larger order which came with fried rice, egg roll, a chicken wing, and your choice of dish. Everyone talks about the Orange peel so I chose this item. I love eggplant so I got the eggplant and chicken. M OMG!!! Why have I never ordered from here. The orange peel is so good. It’s not like orange chicken. It’s thinly sliced chicken in a crispy coating. Then coated with this awesome sauce. It’s like orange chicken and sweet and sour mixed together. It’s the only way I can describe it! You guys have to try it. The eggplant with chicken has a delicious sauce. I like to take the sauce and pour it on my rice. This is authentic Chinese food and you have to check them out. They also have a promo with all lunch combos come with pop.

I had the kung pow chicken and truly enjoyed it! Much more flavorful and creative than many Chinese restaurants I have eaten at. Definitely worth the visit and I will come again!

Came to restaurant and the food was great, but the service was really bad. So to have the best of both worlds we decided to give it another try, but this time we ordered and picked up the food on our way home.

I agree with the review of Alicen V. The food is great, rivaling other more popular and bigger Chinese food restaurants I’ve been to, and the service is wonderful. In this area, it’s rare to find Asian food restaurants. This, and the Manna BBQ restaurant near it are really the only decent Asian food restaurants here. The place is pretty small, nothing like those big Chinese Restaurants in Convoy and National City, but it has a very comfortable atmosphere to it. The décor is spot on with Chinese-culture I think — a lot of gold and red everywhere. The taste of the food exceeded my expectations. I’ve had the Chicken Lo-Mein, Beef Broccoli, Salt and Pepper Fish Filet(this one is a custom order), and Calamari — all absolutely delicious!!! Cooked to perfection ~ Ah, the taste still lingers in my mouth(yes, I just ate here today for lunch). I really wanted to finish all the food on the serving plates, but my stomach couldn’t take it any longer. They also have Thai Tea, which also tastes very good. I’m not sure if they have boba though. I don’t think they do, nor do they have whip cream — just the good ol’ Thai Tea itself. This place is awesome if you want to stuff your stomach with good food, especially the ones I just listed. Next time I’ll have photos to share. The service here is also just as delightful. There is an Asian lady waitress, and then I think the manager is of Hispanic origin. Both of them are very friendly, and they do check up on you every once in a while. Be aware that I’ve come in on occasions when there aren’t many customers, so the check-up may vary when they reach busy hours. Also be aware that these are the only two people who take orders from customers, serve the food, and give the checks, so you should be patient if ever they do reach busy hours!!! Overall, I think these two people are great. I am positive that these workers genuinely do care for their customers. I seriously do love this place. Great tasting food and great service are what makes a great restaurant, and this one hits all of those points! :) P. S. When I choose the one $, that pertains to single dishes. If you’re looking to order more than one dish, that would make it $$

1. Service nice from middle age brown beard front cashier gentleman, but he said ‘We don’t give water’ WTF?! 2. The middle age Asian staff lady was staring at me when I walked in(weird-o). 3. The cashier guy took my money but didn’t give me any napkins. WTH?! 4. Positive: He gave lots of sweet and sour sauce =)

This is one of my 5 stars reserved for place that not only meet but exceed my expectations not only in food but service! Food is excellent. We’ve had the orange chicken, orange peel chicken, king pao chicken and shrimp, spicy noodles, pork fun woo, dumplings, cream cheese wontons, chicken satay, egg drop soup, and probably more. All were tasty! Most recently brought salt-n-pepper wings to a party lots of compliments. Service and experience is where they meet and exceed. The manager, whom I haven’t seen recently, is very personable he even remembers us! My husband orders lunch special on his days off at least once a week. We’ve dined in a a carried out. I brag about iwok to all my friends.(Some said there’s no good Chinese in San Diego!)

I stopped in iWok after work and before returning to work for back to school night. It was about 40 minuted before 4 pm, so I was still able to order off the lunch menu, which has some pretty good deals.( ) I ordered the Beef Szechuan lunch combo with fried rice, an egg roll, and egg drop soup for only $ 6.99.( ) The egg drop soup came hot and was good. It was nicely elevated, after I added the strips of fried won-tons and sliced cabbage.( ) The egg roll was decent. it had a nice crunchy exterior but the inside was a little mushy and bland. It must of been previously frozen. However It tasted much better when I dipped it in the sweet and sour sauce.( ) The Szechuan beef arrived pipping hot with a moderate amount off beef.( ) I asked for light sauce, but not light seasoning. The meat was tender but it needed salt which I added. I enjoyed the slight kick it had from the chili flakes.( ) All the vegetables were fresh and prepared al dente which I liked very much. The fried rice was good, but it too could of benefited from some seasoning. I added some soy and sauce from my Szechuan and that liven it up. All in all, a good meal when you consider the very reasonable price. The manager who took my order and served me was very hospitable and polite.
