First timer, will find out how good the ribs tips are. Not good to me, they do not know how to cut rib tips! I will give a restaurant a chance and it’s up to them to sale me on their product. The staff was perfect and attentive. Sorry to say I’m not returning.

I had no idea they would be that good, from the macaroni and cheese to the BBQ. I now have a reason to go to Chula Vista! Thank you Croom’s

YUM. Delicious every single time we’ve been here. The waitresses are really sweet, too. The karaōke bar next door isn’t that loud and sometimes the people singing have us cracking up.

Amazing in all aspects! I called to make a reservation and then changed it to a catering order to-go, they said it was no problem. The Owner met with me personally to help me figure out how much food I would need for my family. He was so helpful, let me sample things before I ordered them. He threw in a free cornbread order for my family as we celebrated my brother’a birthday. He went in the back to oversee my order and requested my cornbread be made fresh in time for my pick up. Absolutely the nicest man ever running a happy business. And Erica, the hostess was so helpful and kind. When I picked up my order everyone helped me carry it to my car and truly gave service with a smile! We will definitely come back for more! Not to mention my whole family loved the food. So much flavor and the ribs have so much meat!!! Not a disappointment! We ran out if beans but there’s a good reason why. Thanks again!

The absolute worse dining experience I have ever had in my life! We came about 5 minutes till opening time we were directed to wait outside in the patio seating, at around 11:15 we were told«we still got time you came all early and shit so be patient» = exact words upon walking in 10 minutes later there are some friends and family seated and be served PRICESAREOUTRAGEOUS imagine *bad hamburger helper w/high quality Italian dining prices* DONOTWASTEYOURMONEY, no need to lie some of it was decent but 22 $ for a cheap buffet? That’s outrageous, $ 11 for a child when everything is really spicy? The customer service was outrageously unprofessional we waited 20 minutes for ranch, and no words can explain the table talk with the cursing, yes, I said cursing, to us, at the table.

Thank goodness they moved locations! The place is bigger and they have table service now. Lance, the owner, is very nice and personable. The food is still great and now they have soda fountains! Come for their before 3pm specials! They’re closed on Mondays though… I’ll definitely be coming back for more.

Have driven by 1000’s of times and finally stopped by last night. They let us try everything before we ordered, which shows they believe in what they are doing. Everything was perfect and we will definitely be back soon. There is nothing like eating leftover bbq for breakfast. Must try, owners are a class act.

Very nice owner but sub-par quality food. The potato salad was horrible. Tasted worse than what I would imagine would be served in prison. Cole slaw was, meh, and almost frozen. Pork ribs were nothing special and drowning in sauce. Tri-tip was rubbery, like airline food. Corn bread was the only decent thing. Worst off, each meal was $ 15. So, that was $ 30 for two of us and my wife refused to eat anything other than the corn bread and slaw. So, $ 30 wasted. For that price you can go to Red Robin and have way better quality food and endless fries. I actually had to drive down the street and buy tacos at El Gordo for my wife afterwards. $ 10 and delicious. Don’t waste your money with this place. Phil’s is WAY better dollar-for-dollar.

I think this place has great reviews because the customer service is awesome, but the food is totally lacking everything. We ordered a full rib plate and the chicken and tri-tip with Mac and cheese and baked beans. The Mac and cheese was at least three hours old, our chicken was undercooked and our ribs were dry and over sauced to mask the over cooked meat. The beans were edible. The restaurant itself is small and dirty, definitely need new chairs, so we plan not to return again.

Excellent food and very friendly. I don’t know where the owners are from but it reminded of the South. This is the first restaurant in San Diego where I felt like I was home… really good food and really nice people.

Food is good, very good. Prices are good, very good Service is poor. Pre-ordered over $ 100 for a b-day dinner and had to wait for over an hour past the time it was scheduled to pickup. We had also requested coleslaw with the dinner, pre-ordered as well and they did not have any. m Oh well, the anticipation of eating this feast made it taste even better or maybe it was because I was hungrier that ever.

I don’t really have a lot to say about this place. The chicken was really good but I think the sauce is the star. The ribs were pretty good but the chicken was better, which is not normally the case with me(LOVE ribs). The greens were pretty darn good and the Mac and cheese as well… nothing memorable but I’d get them again if I was craving BBQ and in the area. My daughter enjoyed the banana puddin, as she does from pretty much anywhere! The service was semi-friendly and the location was very accessible.

This is some serious stuff! No joke. Yes, I am a fan! I wish I could get more people to taste really good ribs! If you are in downtown San Diego, take Interstate 5 South about six miles, you will not be disappointed. Not only are the ribs great, but the desserts are crazy Southern home-style baking. They do catering as well. Please get out and support these mom and pop, family restaurants. Walk away from the Olive Garden. Walk away by BJ’s Brew Pub. Get yourself some real good feel good food.
