California Smog Check

They upcharge due to location of smog check and DMV. I was able to find a smog for half the price not too far from here. They do their job, but expect an arm and a leg.

First vehicle I brought in went smoothly Randy was my technician he helped me get in and out quickly and passed my 2000 Chevy Blazer no problems with a good rate given to me by Giovanni at 50 bucks. Second vehicle I brought in was a 1993 190e Mercedes. The technician Amhad was a nightmare started saying my car was a peice of shit after I had asked to leave because I had already been there waiting for 3 hours going on 4. He started to give me the run around that it’s an older vehicle that I should have planned ahead to wait that long that I was told it would take that long when I was not told. I had my kids with me because my wife was at work at the time and today was my only day off to get it done. This Amhad guy really sucks at customer service assuming he already knew how my personal life is that i have all the time in the world to plan a 12 hour day at a smog shop he gave me the impression that he didn’t give a shit about my car or about me at all. I was first told that I would be charged a 10 dollar pre inspection fee by a new employee when that number increased to 30 bucks soon after another employee quoted me I was fine with it then they tried charging me for 80 dollars at the end of it all. I don’t mind paying but at least tell me what your charging for before touching my car. After I eventually got the bill down to 50 bucks because Giovanni was able to help me out professionally with a reasonable rate. I noticed on my way home my brakes completely went out and I had to use my E brake all the way back home. now I need to find out what happened to my brakes because they were perfectly fine before coming in. to sum it all up I think corporate should take in some serious thought into their employees and review footage of what was done to my car and reimburse me for this horrific nightmare. Giovanni on the other hand was able to smooth out what he could in his power so he gets 5 stars. The company as a whole to let someone take away the power of stopping my vehicle with my kids in the car gets 1. If any at all.

I wouldn’t even give this place a star. The guys at the front desk are *****. They have no customer service skills at all. If I could I’d reach over the desk and show them some manners. Worst place ever. DO NOT GO THERE, THEY ARE JUST AFTER YOUR MONEY.

Although at first customer service was decent, the longer I spent interacting, the less service there was. My car had recently had work done in Oregon but when I took it in they said the same part I had just replaced needed to be replaced again. Additionally they didn’t remove the part properly and I could not return it. After taking it in I began hearing an unrelated noise and was told it would cost and additional $ 800-​$ 1800 dollars. I decided to get a second opinion and haven’t returned since.

My 1998 Honda Civic recently failed smog check and my registration was due in October. Since I’m a low income college student, I was able to apply for state assistance for smog repair.
The techs got my car in fairly quick even though the place was crazy busy. They even have a shuttle service if you need to leave your car over night but I didn’t need it since my friend picked me up.
The next day, I received a call that my car was ready and it’s passing smog. I only paid $ 75 out of my own pocket (the state does not cover diagnosis) for the repair bill and the rest was covered by the state.
Needless to say, I’m pretty pleased with the whole process!

We got great customer service by Armando he was very professional and the service was fast and easy will be bringing my other car here.

Ok so I am writing an updated on my previous situation… I called CAP repair and they immediately called the business spoke to Arturo. the CAP then called me and said to go pick up my $ 500 voucher from this disrespectful business.
I called Arturo and told him I was sending my boyfriend over to pick up the voucher because I was working and could not pick up the voucher. He said no you have to pick it up yourself… I was extremely mad because on Saturday when I had the service done they told me that my boyfriend could go and pick it up. Soo yes they lied to me and half of the time don’t even know what the hell they r talking about!!!
Ok soo I go on my lunch break to pick up the voucher and Arturo is there and says to me «oh I’m sorry I was not here on Saturday I wasn’t here because I was at a party…» Ok what do I care if you are at a party! Soo stupid!!! I did not want to even talk to anybody there anymore!!! I was over this business!!!
Soo in conclusion this business basically said this to me” if you want you’re car to pass smog all you pay is $ 75 to us and we can make your car pass for 2 years… Ok soo they will cash out the $ 500 voucher and charge me $ 75 to make the car pass but my car will never be fixed!!! This business is fraud!!!
FYI this business got sued for falsely passing a smog on a 1992 Toyota corolla soo that tells you a lot of this business!!! You can look this up on the website of

Negative stars for this joke of an astablishment! Wearing car club shirts at a business cmon now, get it together. Never have I been so aggravated by poor judgment and poor customer service. They have that attitude like the customer is stupid. Don’t let any girl go on there all they see is $$$. Like I said they are a fraud! trying to use a cap program and not even fix the problem. This the shop that double charged me for a smog inspection when it could’ve been avoided in less than 90 seconds.
I had a computer code issue with my engine and I fixed that after the first smog inspection, and then after the second Time coming to get my smog inspection done, instead of hooking up the computer first and verifying that there were no other codes, they just went straight to the smog machine in order to charge me the extra amount for a retest fee! Then after passing smog, they fail my entire smog test because there were other computer codes.
Then on top of that they wanted to charge me another $ 10 to print out a piece of paper that was already in their system because I did not bring it with me!
Then the third time, I returned the rental car-​computer once all the codes were cleared and they charge me another $ 10 to return it because I did not have the paper that was already in their system.
This is the last straw and a highly recommend that this business not be used because of their bad business practices! I was they client for 5 years, but after the new management or new greedy procedures came in, I no longer can recommend them.
Go to smog guy in lemon grove, he has a $ 35 coupon and is honest (google for his smog coupon)

This one is a little out of my way but the reason I will travel here is because I get in they get me smog under an hr and I’m gone. Yes it gets busy but they move right a long fast. The location a mile from my house I drop it off at 8am and they aren’t done at 3pm. Yah I need it smog I’ll take all my stuff here. I have 3 cars and this is where I will take it for sure.

I went here on a Friday at 4pm and they closed at 5. I thought it would be crowded or the guys would be in a bad mood, but they were very friendly and took my car right away. They have a good amount of CURRENT magazines, not like the 3 year old maxims that other shops have. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. The facilities were very clean and even though it was hot, they had the fan running, doors open, trying to keep it cool. My only regret is that they were done so fast, I couldn’t finish reading the magazine and now I have to go buy it. They deserve all 5 stars.

Great Place! Quick wait. About 20 – 30 Min max. Plus it’s in the same shopping plaza as Target. which is nice to shop around while you wait. Guys there are very polite and courteous too!

This place is really convenient, it is right on the Target parking lot, went shopping for about 20 minutes while my car was being smogged, when I came back my car was already passed. Awesome service, fast and friendly staff.
