Do not give this place your business!!! This is the honest to god truth! My friend had a drink deck discount card and tried to use it, but we were informed by our waitress that the owner stated that he wouldn’t honor it, however she was unsure as to why. We proceeded to close out the bill by giving a credit card to our waitress. As our waitress walked away, the owner, Jim Burke, approached our table. During conversation with my friends, Burke became angry and as i reached down to sign for the bill & leave a tip, the owner reached down to grab the presenter out of my hands. I was so shocked he did this, I pulled back & questioned his actions. He proceeded to become PHYSICALLY violent with me. He PLACEDHISHANDSAROUNDMYNECKANDTRIEDTOCHOKEME! My male friend saw this and tried to helpers me from this man and then Burke turned and tried to choke him as well!!! The waitstaff & other patrons on the patio witnessed the entire thing, and one waitress(who has a conscience apparently) yelled at him to stop. The police were contacted, but nothing was done about it! This man is dangerous and he has no business running a bar. Witts has tried to address this incident on their Facebook page by blaming the incident on «the 4 patrons at close». They are CLAIMING they are being«spammed». This is a lie, and this place needs to be held accountable.

We miss the old Witt’s. We got a salad and the BBQ brisket. The only decent thing about the entire meal was the waffle fries and the service. The waffle fries were very crisp and yummy and the waitress was very nice. The chicken in the salad had no flavor, while the salad dressing was so acidic it hurt to eat it. The BBQ brisket was pretty gross. The meat was tough and dry, and the BBQ sauce was definitely added afterwards(it was not cooked in the sauce. The meat didn’t taste like it was very good quality either. We will never be going back here.

The new Witt’s is fantastic. The food is great, the portions are gigantic, and the prices are right. Witt’s drink selection is absolutely huge, and the cocktails created by the owner are great(especially the Le Patio!). If you and three friends want to do some shots, try the«Slapshot»! It’s a hockey stick with 4 shot glass brackets, and everyone has to drink their shot at the same time. It’s a lot of fun! The atmosphere is very inviting as well. There are LED lights under the bar, and a beautiful patio outside, complete with misters for those hot summer days. I’ve been here 3 times since they’ve opened, and I’ve had a great time each visit!

The old Witts was the pits. Under new ownership, this once dark and dreary bar has flourished into a Cinderella story. I had low expectations upon returning here after a years absence but was struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere upon our arrival. Our server, Sheila was both attentive and hilarious. Her recommendations were golden and we ended up ordering more food then we intended. Our starter was a spinach and cheese app that was simple but delicious. For our entrees Boy ordered the Jerk wings while I settled in with the«fish and chips». First, the waffle fries are killer so don’t go substituting them for anything. Second, the cod was beer battered in Pabst and didn’t suffer the wrath of thick crispy coating that ruins most fish and chips at other places. The tarter sauce was house made, it was tangy and had some sort of seed in it that really made me smile. Dipping the waffle fries in the vinegar was also a huge plus. Did I really just spend that much time describing food at a bar? It was really obvious that this was no pre made food service junk that most bars serve. Our full bellies did not stop us from enjoying a Burke Bloody each. Appropriately spicy and not too thick, the olives were fat and juicy buggers that had us happily picking them off their skewers with our teeth like cavemen. Since it’s summer we also thought it appropriate to try out some crafts with fruit bases. Boy had the peach and I went with an Abita with raspberry. The beer menu is huge, the speciality cocktails look intriguing and delicious. Even better, throughout our visit we were joyously competing against each other with the TapTV app trivia game that was on one of the gigantic televisions. 24⁄7 trivia, count me in for weekly visits. Seriously, I can’t remember the last time we’ve been so entertained at a bar. We’ll be back again soon to try out the brisket and beef sandwich. Until then, check this place out and you won’t regret it.
