Vision 20/20

First of all I am a disabled person on Medicaid, Family FHP insurance with few choices and last year was treated very badly BY VZN EYECARE Dr Knaklis so finding Dr. Pham at VISION ²⁰⁄₂₀ was like a blessing for me.
Dr Pham was soooo mice, he explained everything to me so patiently. Dr. Pham actually FOUND and corrected a problem with my contact lenses that a Walmart doctor prescribed incorrectly and has been bothering me for years!
They also gave me a NEXT day appointment, a ten dollar discount I did not even know about, free samples and had the BEST selection of FHP eligible eye ware for my yearly pair of free glasses that I have EVER seen!
(VZN in comparison made me wait two weeks for an appointment, even though I told them it was an emergency, tried to charge me for dilation, refused to give me my eye prescription unless I bought from them, and had literally only 12 pairs of free frames to choose from 2 of which were children s sizes, so that meant they had like 4 women’s frames, so old and ugly no one would want them. They also said it would take 3 months to deliver glasses when I told them I had broken my only pair.)
While Dr. Pham at VISION ²⁰⁄₂₀ will deliver them in 2 WEEKS. There is no parking for VZN, but there is a large free parking lot for Vision ²⁰⁄₂₀!!. So easy to park and get in there for disabled people especially .
if you are needing quality eye care at the lowest price and a really well informed doctor and staff who are friendly, smiling, on time and welcoming GO TO VISION ²⁰⁄₂₀!
Especially if you are disabled and have limited eye coverage like me.

I went to go get an eye exam with contacts and glasses. I have a new insurance called ambetter and they accepted it without a problem. The doctor and the staff was very nice and took the time to answer any questions that I had. I was in and out in a timely manner

Medicaid is accepted, I state this first to help out those looking for quality vision care regardless of their insurance.
The entire staff is pleasant and friendly. They have stations set up to quickly move you through your appointment.
Dr. Van Pham is excellent, he does a thorough exam and takes time to answer any questions you may have.
They offer higher end and affordable glasses. They will even give you a discount if you find a pair you really like.
My appointment took less than 40 minutes, this included filling out paper work, the exam and selecting glasses. Granted I came in when it wasn’t busy this was still the quickest experience I’ve ever had seeing an optometrist.
My glasses were ready in about 2 weeks. I came in to pick them up and after trying them on I found them to be a bit loose, the staff corrected the fitting in about a minute and I was on my way.
My entire experience was painless and although I live almost an hour away I will always make the trip to visit Vision ²⁰⁄₂₀.

Went to get my glasses here. Store was kind of crowded and they had a few people getting eye exams so I had to wait about 45 mins. While I was waiting, I tried out many frames and picked one out before I had the exam. The exam was very professional and the Dr. (Pham)took his time and was very friendly. He explained a lot of things to me about the exam and the lenses & frames I selected. I’ve been to other optical shops where they move people in & out really fast & seem very impersonal. I would recommend this place even though it looks a bit unorganized and less spiffy than the other places and the glasses took a few weeks to get back.

My experience here was nothing short of outstanding. The customer service is excellent. Both the optometrist and his staff are helpful and friendly. The optometrist is a gregarious man, and is a pleasure to talk with.
In my case, I was deciding between contacts or glasses, and after trying contacts, I decided it wasn’t for me. I never received any pressure to buy them. In addition, the glasses were initially too strong — not because his prescription was wrong, but because I wasn’t used to it and it was difficult for me to adjust. He modified them to weaken them a bit and they are perfect now. He really took the time to listen to my needs and accommodate me, and I couldn’t be happier.
I love this place, and won’t go anywhere else!

After a very unsatisfactory experience with another optical company on North Broadway ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision gets a grade of a+ from me. They have a very professional approach towards their customers and are very conscientious about meeting their optical needs. The staff there was quickly able to make me forget about my horrible experience with the other optician who made me wait more than six months for glasses which they never delivered on. They serve an assortment of different types of customer needs and all price ranges. They actually have Sunday hours and once again they are highly recommended. I will be using them again for contact lenses and glasses…5 Stars!!!

Five stars for both the Dr. and his staff. Dr. Pham is not just a terrific optometrist but also a terrific human being. It’s so great to find a doctor who has both traits and really cares about his patients. He spent a lot of time with me (I had not seen an eye doctor in years) and I really appreciate that. Best of all, I can walk to his office from Edgewater. And his staff were really nice and tried to help me find the best pair of glasses I could afford on a tight budget. I highly recommend Vision ²⁰⁄₂₀.

The doctor here is very friendly and knows what he is doing. This was the first time I visited this office. I was able to make an appointment the day before plus when I went I was able to get an eye exam and they also made my my glasses for me in like 15mins! The fact that they have a lab onsite is great and enough of a resin to go there. ! Very and friendly people. Frame selection a bit on the think side especially the 100frames. The doctor there is very knowledgeable and is quite the funny man. He knows what he is doing and does it with speed and accuracy. The price of the glasses are great too and if you pay out of pocket it will be cheaper maybe than with insurance. They also accept my crappy ass insurance so I’m sure they will accept yours as well, no matter how crappy. This place is really great and worth more than five stars.

When I go to a new business, I always pay close attention to the customer service and how clean the place is. In this case, the store is exceptionally clean and when I went in back for my eye exam the doctor even cleaned the vision machine before examining my eyes. His staff is professional and everybody speaks fluent English. Hardly a wait at all. Love the attention to detail and the way they all work so well together.
Of all the optometrist’s I’ve ever gone to, Dr. Pham Van, is one of the most conscientious and thorough doctor’s who’s ever examined my eyes. He explains everything to you in a clear and concise way and is more than willing to answer any questions you have.
He really went the extra mile with me a few weeks ago and knows how to alleviate any qualms you have about your eyes. Upon my second visit today he gave me a detailed explanation of how to properly care for my glasses and what to look for if I suspect I have cataracts. I don’t now, but eventually he explained everybody gets them. Good to know!
I can’t wait to visit him again.

I don’t know why my review was deleted. After my family eye Dr. Retired I read great Unilocal reviews about vision ²⁰⁄₂₀. I had a great experience found my new Dr I left with a big smile on my face. Staff is very friendly The Dr listened to everything I said. If you need a new eye place this is the place to go!

I just had a great experience here getting vision checked. Staff is so friendly. Their contacts and designer frames have competitive pricing and I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen. The missing star is because they charge a 50 dollar copay for a CL fitting. As some one who has been seeing an ophthalmologist for prescriptions with a 40 dollar copay and has been wearing the same CL brand for years on end, spending 50 for a fitting copay (which is 0 work in this case) seems extraordinarily high.

The staff at Vision ²⁰⁄₂₀ was very helpful and friendly. There was little to no wait, and they were upfront with pricing and helpful with my insurance coverage and what they wouldn’t cover. The doctor even gave me contacts (less expensive alternative to the contacts I’ve been using) to try and see if they work for me! I even got a free pair of sunglasses (non-​prescription) as I have light sensitive. They even have a great selection of glasses, great pricing for the brands they carry! I will definitely be back each year!

It doesn’t get better than Vision ²⁰⁄₂₀! When I originally started going here, I had health insurance that covered the cost of my glass’ and contacts but then I lost my health insurance and Vision ²⁰⁄₂₀ made it extremely affordable for me to get a yearly contact eye exam and purchase contacts. Their contact eye exams are considerably cheaper than other places but the level of care they have for their clients is unbeatable! Their schedule is really flexible, recently I ran out of contacts and on a Sunday I called them up and asked them if there’s any way I can pick some more up and the staff was more than happy to assist me! They are just wonderful and I highly recommend them!

I had a screw missing from my glasses so we popped in. The associate quickly replaced it & charged $ 2.00. Yay!

Awesome, cheap, friendly. Go here, especially if you have Davis Vision coverage.

My family has been going here for eye care for years. Definitely good for both Vietnamese and English speakers. Also they are very patient and will take the time to train you if you are getting contacts for the first time. Frame selection is okay and the time it takes to receive frames/​contacts and see the doctor has always been fine.

Came in for an eye exam! Super friendly, fast service! The lady who seems to be in charge of the front and the one who teaches you how to put contacts in is very patient and kind. Needed someone to coach me and she was a perfect teacher. Encouraging, patient, and kind.

I’ve been going to this place for my vision needs since I was little, and to this day, I still see the benefits in coming here instead of going to another eye care center. On my latest visit, I was able to come in on less than an hour notice for an eye exam and contacts. The receptionist wasn’t working, so Dr. Van was doing twice the work and was able to deal with at least 4 people (including me) in an hour, which was nice. He was professional, thorough, and efficient. Additionally, I purchased and received my prescription glasses within an hour. He made sure I knew all my options before I made any purchases and was even able to help me get the biggest bang for my buck, which I appreciate immensely because I m still a student. I left with my eyes in great condition, my contact prescription refilled, a new pair of glasses, AND a great deal.

I have been coming here since I was 15 years old and now since last year been coming here with my daughter.
I like this place, I have never pay to get frames because I used the medical card, and is a plus they accept the medical card since most places don’t.
The only reason why I don’t give it a 5 stars is simply because last year that I came for my daughter follow up, he was hurrying up the hole check-​up and I have to wait a 30mins or more even tho I went in on time.

I’ve been going here for more than three years, and Dr. Pham Van and his staff have everything you need, at a very reasonable price.
Given the Vietnamese and Asian nature of the neighborhood populace, the service is of course bi– and tri-​lingual. It’s never been a problem for me or my family.
You can make an appointment or just walk in; usually the wait is not unreasonable.
The décor is pretty basic, but how much does that really matter if you get the same product? I’d rather save some money than help an optician pay a very high rent.
BTW, be careful not to leave the parking lot. Look over to the right, the Lincoln Park Pirates are often just lurking, waiting for the moment to pounce on your car to tow it.
Via mass transit, the Argyle stop on the Red Line is just around the corner, and the 36 bus passes by. The Unilocal listing is incorrect. the store is in Uptown, not Edgewater.
