This has been a great place — but am now concerned about potential changes with the new management company coming in McCaffery did a spectacular job — the new company comes in and the first warning sign is they can’t even get their resident portal operating to support online payments(like McCaffery had available forever) and so they had to leave paper notes at each door asking residents to drop a paper check in the green box downstairs Who the heck even uses paper checks anymore??? Did they outsource their new website offshore or maybe the Obamacare website developers? The Cubs almost make it to a Back to the Future 2015 world series but these guys bounce back to 1985 on their opening swing!!! Hopefully this is not an omen of things to come. Will update the review after we see more from these new guys.

This is an excellent apartment building and I’ve already resigned for my second year here. Here’s why: First, the individual apartments are great. The materials are high-quality, the soundproofing is impeccable, and the finishes are very nice. Rooms are big, tons of closet space, built-in shelving, washer and dryer in the apartment — all fantastic. I can’t hear the folks above me or beside me at all, ever. PLUS I have a private balcony. It’s awesome. Second, the building is excellent. There’s an outdoor terrace that actually gets used(wow!), grills, a gym, a club room that I actually visit, a really gorgeous lobby, and fast elevators. The place is kept clean, the walls get touch-ups after busy move-in days, and you actually hear about the preventative maintenance that the management team schedules so that no catastrophes hit the building. Finally, the staff is world-class. The management team is friendly, accessible, and sincerely interested in making their tenants happy. Seriously, the front desk staff is awesome, and it’s not a constantly revolving door like other«front desk» staff you see at other buildings. The management is always throwing parties, cook-outs, and even doing little things like putting out milk and cookies in the lobby for their tenants. I’ve never been served milk and cookies by any other landlord I’ve had. OK, so this all sounds like a cheesy, fake Unilocal review. For the sake of balance, let me put in my complaints: there’s only a phone jack in the kitchen, which is inconvenient for those of us who want DSL internet in the bedroom(seriously, we do exist). The building does have a lot of college students from Loyola and Northwestern, and yes, sometimes the run down the halls and giggle at night.(But really, I’ve never been bothered by it, and it’s not like they mess the place up.) The kitchen sink has in-sink disposal, but it’s just one big sink rather than a divided sink. But really… that’s all I can think of. Wait, just a few more awesome touches from The Morgan:(1) they label your mailbox with your and your roommates’ names before you even move in;(2) they offered me a free carpet cleaning just for resigning my lease;(3) they send out e-mails to let me know about delays on the Red Line and nearby buses, just to be nice;(4) they encourage food trucks to stop outside the building, then e-mail everyone to let us know when the food truck arrives;(5) they change the air filter in your furnace and the batteries in your smoke detectors automatically;(6) MILKANDCOOKIES. That is all. If you want to live in this area, live here.

The Morgan is such a cool building! The movie nights, the cookies and milk and the wine tasting parties are great. The terrace is beautiful — the building even has an outdoor fireplace where you can make«S’Morgans» and they provide the chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers. It’s nice being so close to the ‘El’ I don’t have to walk a long time in the dark. The apartments are beautiful and I love that it’s a smoke-free building.

Incredible, upscale living. My wife and I feel very safe here, which was very important to us. The rent is expensive, but you get what you pay for. You get 24-hr. concierge service, water and gas included in monthly rent, monthly happy hour parties with free wine, beer, and snacks. They even put out milk and cookies at night about once a month. The clubroom has 3 computers, a nice flat screen TV with cable, the most advanced Copy/Fax machine we’ve ever seen, a Wii with games, and snack and drink machines. The work out room isn’t huge but adequate, and they furnish water and towels. The outside terrace is beautiful and a fun place to hang out on a great summer afternoon. It is complete with gas grills, a fireplace, and even an herb garden for cooks. The concierge keeps fresh coffee in the lobby until noon, both regular and flavored, and they accept all of your packages. Location is key. The Morgan is across the street from the Red Line, across from a CVS that we go to nearly every day. Restaurants on the block or within a block include McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Subway, Five Guys, Red Mango, and Popeyes. There’s a bar about a block away. Overall, we had a great experience with all of the friendly staff and would live here again if we had the chance, but we are moving out of state. Maintenance staff and the manager live on-site and are available to meet all your needs.

The staff at The Morgan are the nicest and most helpful people you will find in any building on the North side! I have been here for a few of the events that they have hosted and toured the building on more than one occasion. First class all the way. A great mix of residents and great amenities. Any time you come or go the door staff always greets you and are willing to help. They also have a gym and well gardened patio for the nice summer nights. Every unit has a balcony overlooking the lively Loyola train station and This residence building has it all and is all green. Even the cleaning crew they have uses only green products to clean your unit. Overall great place!

I absolutely love the this place, its has a great space for venues and have done a full tour of the complex. Everyone is so wonderfully refreshing and helpful and they looked as if they actually loved what they were doing. I could not believe how friendly the door staff was. I have a bad leg and they noticed me walk in the front and i was limping a little and when i was touring the place they made sure every door was held open for me and when i left they all said goodbye have a nice day. Not alot of buildings have friendly staff that greet you every time you walk in the place! Also they have great views and to find a place that has a decent sized balcony is hard but this place does. I always love to sit on a balcony and sip wine as the sun goes down and i can very well see me doing it here! two thumbs up!
