Most food like pizza, pasta and the likes are good. I love this place.

Best pizza to ever touch my mouth! We had the número uno with the freshest ingredients: the onions and green peppers packed a crunch. The crust is crispy, light and perfect, leaving my belly not overwhelmed like other deep dish pizzas.

No soy muy fan de las pizzas pero sin duda esta es una de las mejores. El restaurante es muy familiar en un ambiente italiano(todos gritan) buen servicio, buena cena a buen precio(relación precio –calidad)

my wife and I were recently in Chicago and she declared«I’m in Chicago, I have to get deep dish pizza.» There was an Uno a few blocks from our hotel and since I’m allergic to Garlic I’m more than ambivalent about pizza but I’ve been to the chains and know Uno has other things I can eat. Well. This wasn’t ‘a’ Pizzeria Uno. This was THE Pizzeria Uno, the original pizza parlor opened in the 1940’s. It is narrow with a bar on the left side, small booths on the right and a line of two person tables down the middle. There is also usually a crowd outside. the menu does NOT have all the extras you’re use to getting at a franchise chain. This is a pizza parlor and the menu is pretty much pizza, pizza, pizza, salad, pizza. It is also made fresh and you are warned that it takes 45 minutes so this is not for you if you have a short lunch break. The place has the charm one would expect of the launching pad for a cuisine the city takes pride in and has pictures from those by-gone decades when this launched. Service is attentive and since you know there’s a wait you can enjoy your company and the ambience. As for the pizza-apparently in Chicago, garlic is NOT a normal part of the marinara as it is on the east coast. You have to ask for garlic so I could try it. this then comes down to a matter of taste. Me. I like more cheese on my pizza, but my wife was very happy and since she eats more of the stuff than I do, that’s a good sign.

I do appreciate the significance of Unos. Its history and what this pizzaria represents is something unique and special to Chicago cuisine. However, the pizza is simply okay to me. I don’t find anything mouth-watering about it. I don’t find myself craving it. And there are easily a number of other options I’d spring for when it comes to pizza cravings in Chicago. Sorry Uno, but you’re over-hyped.

This was our first trip to Chicago and had to go to the original Pizza Uno for some Chicago deep dish. Not only was the pizza amazing, but Ron, our waiter, made our first experience even THAT much better ! He was friendly, knowledgable(selected the perfect Chicago brew for me), and super fun! Go to this classic Chicago icon! ! It’s more than just a tourist attraction, they really welcome you and make you feel at home.

Great Food. GREAT service. It’s a must for anyone Visiting Chicago. Garlic cheese bread is phenominal. The wait for a pizza is, an hour. They don’t take your name until you order the pizza then you wait for an open table but we’ll worth it!

My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town and decided to try some deep dish pizza. We figured Unos may not be the best of the best we could get, but because this was the first Unos, we wanted to stop in! Service was great and super friendly. My boyfriend and I dined outside as it was a very warm day and it was nice to people watch. The pizza, unfortunately, wasn’t that great. It’s different than Unos deep dish pizza you’ll get in other parts of the country, that’s for sure. The deep-dish crust was really crumbly and flaky and not dough-like at all. My boyfriend commented that the dough was exceptionally flavorless and I agreed. It wasn’t the worst pizza I’d ever had, but it wasn’t the best. As we were sitting outside enjoying our meal and the sun, a group of 20-somethings passed by the Unos restaurant-front and one guy exclaimed, «This [Unos] has the best pizza I’ve ever tasted!», so apparently people do love it. We just didn’t. We ended up trying deep dish pizza at another restaurant the next day(we wanted to give it a second go!) and loved it. Guess it depends on your flavor preference.

Unequivocally the first deep dish pizza landmark restaurant in Chicago period. This is where the Malnatis family honed their skills producing deep dish pizzas in the earlier days before the 1970’s before opening their own. My suggestion is keep it simple when ordering you pizza. Cheese and just sausage is mantra.

Great little dive to find authentic deep dish. Established in 1943 Pizzeria Uno is a considered a Chicago historical landmark. Bartenders are friendly. Deep dish pizza is true Chicago style. They toppings were slightly underdone, But overall flavorful. They use a whole piece of fresh sausage to layer the entire bottom of your pizza. They did warn us the Chicago deep dish does take 45 minutes to cook. But was worth the wait. Great getaway in Chicago!

Amazing pizza. I had a personal deep dish sausage. The sausage covered the span of the pizza. Seemed to have been an actual sausage patty on top of the dough. The cheese was flavorful. I really taste the difference here. I’ve tried many deep dishes and I’m usually not a fan but this one is very delicious. It took about 30 minutes to arrive to our table The seating was cramped. I’m only 5’4 but there wasn’t nearly enough leg room at the booth tables. We arrived for lunch on a Monday and the place was fairly empty so we were seated right away.

This was my first and only taste at deep dish pizza. It was delicious. This restaurant was so old school and cool. Their signature drinks are great. I ordered Sangria as well as South Side Lemonade. The margarita was too tart but thats ok. Our server was nice, but a little aggressive It was like a funny aggressive but it just wasnt expected i suppose. like when we disliked the tart margarita, she was a little rude about it. oh well.

Tried this for first Chicago pizza ever. It was tasty! Deep pan, cheese then sauce on top of the cheese. Oh yea! Amazing! I didn’t love the flavor of sauce but I did overall love the pizza and how it was. They use a good quality cheese, mmmm! I’d come back!

Please forgive me as I am catching up on a few of my reviews and trying to recall a few of them. Being in Chicago for the weekend, I had to find a deep dish pizzeria and this place had it all! It was a chilly mid-September weekend at around 6pm and a group of 7 of us sat outside. This place was hopping so inside was not an option. Outside on the sidewalk there are sections and we took up a nice chunk of it. The lighting was dim and it would’ve been nice if they had some heat lamps, but we made the most of it. We warmed ourselves with appetizers and beers. I had a few buffalo wings and they were so crisp and delicious! The highlight were the three different pizzas to split among us. One was a meat lovers, other was a garden style, another had spinach and I forgot the other toppings. All in all each were very tasty. Slices were large and thick. The crust/dough/cheese ratio was beautiful. Some other Chicago style pizzas have this huge wad of cheese right above a thick crust. This place had the perfect ratio where you have the crust, nice dough, cheese and some great sauce. The garden style was probably my favorite. I love the large tomato chunks! Absolutely one of the better pizzas I’ve had!

G and I came here with a Groupon for their deep dish pizza-making class over MLK Jr. weekend. It was an interactive and fun 3-hour ordeal, which consisted of: 1) Pizza making. They made the dough. We put on the toppings. This wasn’t the pizza«made from scratch» experience I had expected, but it was still fun. I kept stuffing slices of mozzarella cheese while layering my pizza. Shhh. 2) Pizza eating. Obviously, we got to eat our individual sized portion pizzas after we made it. It’d be so anti-climatic if we didn’t. We also had a serving of tossed salad and wine to complement our meal! Not bad. 3) Kitchen tour. Our instructor also gave us an overview of the history of Pizzeria Uno and then a guided tour of their kitchen. I was especially intrigued by their pizza ovens, which can cost up to $ 30K(with discount) to replace. Disclaimer: Their pizza instructions for making the crust lack reproducibility, since their previous patrons have complained about this. So be forewarned!

I had a medium sized pizza! Deep pan very nice but way to much for me! Great atmosphere at the place, a friend recommended it and it didn’t disappoint! You have to pay for your pizza before you went in to the Restaraunt, no problems but the waitress should have explained the portion sizes a little better! Great atmosphere and very busy

Blast from the past. I’m personally not a HUGE fan of deep dish pizza, but when in Rome… This place is great. Location is great, food is awesome and the staff is super nice and friendly. I enjoyed my experience while dinning here.

Obviously, when in Chicago you have to go for some deep dish pizza. Based on it’s years of establishment and their expansion to include Pizzeria Due across the street, I guess you could say I had higher expectations. The inside of this place is really small and there was about a half hour wait to get a table so they let you order your pizza while you wait for a table to make the process quicker. We went with one individual spinnocoli and one spinach and ordered while we waited. After a bit of a wait our name was called over the speakers to let us know our table was ready. We entered and were sat by the window. It is a pretty tight space inside so I can see why they want to get people in and out as quickly as they can. Our server came over and we ordered two pomegranate margaritas and the garlic bread with cheese. Because it was so cold I went with my margarita on the rocks with no salt and that was definitely a good choice because the other one didn’t melt at all. The server confirmed our pizza order which was actually wrong because they had veggie instead of spinach. Unfortunately, even though we corrected this mistake with our server we still ended up receiving the veggie pizza instead of the spinach. We weren’t impressed enough to even fix this mistake once the pizza made it to our table. I was really glad we ordered the garlic bread because it was better than the pizza. The pizza itself was nothing special at all and really disappointing. The crust was dry, overcooked, tasteless, and crumbly. We had a hard time cutting our pizza because of it. I won’t be back here and will try a different place during my next visit in a couple weeks.

Last night in Chicago so decided to get some deep dish… Sat at the bar, wait for the pizza for around 40 minutes. $ 7.99 for beer is rather expensive. The same 7.99 for deep dish pizza is rather cheap. So status quo was reached! Frankly my pepperoni pizza was somewhat tasteless, nothing really to complain about as such but nothing to write home about either. Amount of food was just right in the individual pizza. So three stars for pizza itself with fourth star for the very decent level of price, would give it 3.5 stars if possible. Would I return? Yeah I could, but I would certainly consider also other options

Great Chicago deep dish experience! Would definitely come back for their great customer service and food. We strolled in Sunday shortly before noon, and was immediately warmly greeted at the door and sat right away. Our friendly server let us know the time the pizza would take 45 minutes, however we timed it and came to us after 31 minutes! The feel and vibe of the restaurant is exactly what I was looking for, small, quant, personality and history. Living in Vegas I was trying to get away from the over priced strip restaurant experience, this achieved it. Value was right on. Food: Cheesy Bread: 5⁄5 –not greasy at all. You can actually task the flavor of the cheese. Dipping sauce spot on! Deep dish Uno pizza: 5⁄5 –again not greasy. Full of flavor. Pizza was stuffed with loads of toppings. We shared a small between two of us, could have fed four! Tried to save room for the dessert, but… too stuffed. We will have to come back!

I’m a New Yorker. I like NY’s thin crust pizza. That being said, deep dish at Uno’s wasn’t too bad. I made it a goal to try deep dish again because I forgot what it was like. Uno’s is supposedly the birthplace of Chicago deep dish and I came here based on my friend’s recommendation(he’s sort of a pizza aficionado). The pizza takes about 45 minutes to make, so be prepared to wait. We ordered the classic Numero Uno, and one slice was more than enough to fill me up. It was just loaded with carbs and vegetables. I can’t really compare this deep dish to another but I wouldn’t mind coming back here if I ever wanted deep dish again.
