I’ve driven past this place almost everyday on my way to work and always say that today will be the day. Well my fellow Unilocalers, today was finally that day. I was impressed with the selection. Everything from gyros, garden burgers, chicken, to fish. The prices seem really cheap and they have a bunch of $ 5 specials. I opted for the 2 grilled chicken in a pitas sandwich that came with 2 fries. It smelled wonderful. So I decided to try a fry(Note: I’m not a french fry kind of gal), but these fries were awesome. Now as for the grilled chicken pita, the chicken was BLAH. First, it was reddish tint to it which left me confused(it was well cooked. not blood whew). I’m not sure what spice it was but it had this weak spicy-curry-lemon infusion that just wasn’t up to my taste. The cucumber sauce also lacked taste. Sorry but you won’t catch me here ever again, I’ll just go a few blocks over to Marcos where the food is way better.

This place sometimes can be a hit or miss I’ve come on several occasions and I usually stick to the same thing. The prices are inexpensive and the food is okay not the greatest but not the worst. I love the fact that you can eat outside and in the winter they do heat up the outdoor patio which is neat. Pretty sure I will be here again some time since its close in the neighboorhood!

Man this place use to be the bomb like a year or two ago, I guess before they changed owners. I’m pissed that they changed the fries. They used to have so much flavor. So far I had oversized cut fries and McDonalds looking fries with no taste. All I can say is I hate the guy who messed with the fries. I always get a burger and they’re pretty good. But I hardly go here because the fries are garbage. Gene and Judes or Jimmys is where it’s at.

This is a pretty good very fast food service place. the place and neighborhood reeks of gangs so I had a quick buger and beef meal here. I enjoyed both variieties of foods although this place skimps on the soda. doin gthe usual trick of filling the cup with ice. If it had a better location I would come here more

(3.5 stars rounded up) Decided to try this place as late night greasy spoon options not named Luke’s or TBK are quite scarce in my neck of the woods. They have the maxwell concept as you order thru a bullet proof glass window and wait on the sidewalk for your food. They also have a typical fast food joint outdoor patio on the side. Much to my delight they had a Gyro burger on the menu, this made my tastebuds water as I hadn’t had one of these since my Rogers Park days. And at $ 3.99, even if it sucked it wouldn’t have really bothered me all that much. It took a little while to get my food but it was pretty busy. So after a few minutes I grab my greasy bag«o» goodness and head out on my merry way. They have fresh cut fries cooked VERY well done and it tastes like they used garlic salt on them, tasty. The burger itself was pretty good. Now the gyro meat was actually very good, that alone will bring me back for a gyro one day. The burger was cooked to perfection and with the BBQ and Onions it made the burger that much better. The main reason I bumped it up to 4 stars is they have a big parking lot and they’re open til 3am during the week and 5am on weekends. It doesn’t get much better than that. A good place to have in the area for the late night munchies, and also a quite extensive and unique menu.

Fresh Cut Fries… AMEN to that brother! You must order the Cheeseburger special with Fries & Drink for only $ 3.99…now that’s eating on a budget. I did enjoy the outdoor patio style seating which is well shaded and relaxing. The giant parking lot is a plus for quick in and out access. I think I will try the Rib Tips next or the BBQ Beef… oh the choices I have to make. Ody’s is open rather late… like 3AM, so there is no excuses. Kitchen is large and spacious and you get to see everything prepared right in front of you.

Nothing special. Dogs are decent. Fries are pretty bland. Most everything seems like standard boxed food service stuff. Drive 10 more minutes down Grand to Gene and Judes for a unique hotdog treat.

Maybe it’s a Chicago thing, but this whole Italian Beef sandwich craze is beyond me. I know, I know — shoulda went to Portillo’s. Heard it a million times from my native Chicago friends, but Ody’s happened to be right in front of the bus stop I needed to take. My boyfriend and I were starving and regrettably hit up Ody’s out of desperation and lack of time. After seeing countless recommendations of Italian Beef sandwiches(DIPPED!), we decided to go for it and order some food to-go. TOTALLY should’ve just waited… Little did I know that dipped Italian beef sandwiches are actually dipped until damp in a spicy or sweet dip… and here I thought I got to dip it myself as I consumed the sandwich! To make things short, I definitely will not ever try another dipped Italian beef sandwich from Ody’s again. Totally tossed it out after a few bites. That, and it began to stink up the bus we were taking(yeah, I know… no food on the bus… sorry). Thank god I had my Sunkist soda with me to wash down the nasty aftertaste. BLECCCHH!!!

This place sticks out like a sore thumb on Grand. A big orange and yellow thumb. It has the look of an old school drive in eatery and it is quite clean and bright, which is needed in this pretty sad looking little stretch of Grand. My turkey burger was actually really good except for the mayo I specifically asked them to leave off. The fries have an odd taste and my boyfriend says they taste like peanut shells. It was extremely hot this day but we sat for a few minutes on their covered patio and it felt pretty good under there with a nice breeze despite the humidity. if you ever find yoursel in the area or jmaybe you’re ust looking to get outside of the usual stuff then come a bit west and visit. I think the 65 grand bus stops nearby. Oh and starting soon they will open a new part of the place that serves Mexican food.

This place entices you in with it’s bright lights and fancy colors. Unfortunately it’s just another greasy spoon. I had a turkey burger which was pretty good but the fries sucked major balls. You’d better eat them while they’re hot because once they cool off… well you just don’t want them. Trust me. Oh and the Italian beef was dry which was quite interesting since it was dipped.

The italian beefs are pretty good here, ordered it with green peppers, the peppers had a tasty kick to them, very different, very good.

I’ve been back to Ody’s about 10 times since the first week of their opening and I must admit that their Italian beefs are pretty good, however the quality of the hotdogs, cheeseburgers, and fries have went down the drain. If you are hungry and there is nothing else open in the neighborhood at 12am then stop at Ody’s-it’s alright… I mean it won’t kill you ;)

TERRIBLE! This was my first time there I was so excited to see what the crowds are about so I figured I’d try it. I ordered a double cheeseburger. One of the patties was raw. I kid you not. It was a little brown on the outside and red, not pink, red on the inside. I ended up peeling it off and eating it as a single and the only reason I did that is because I was so hungry and I was too tired to go back out to get something else. The bun was so soggy that it stuck to the wrapper and I had to pick paper off the bun(what was left of it). My better half ordered a polish sausage and 15 minutes after eating it, she had to relive the experience of tasting it again, if you know what I mean. The«fresh cut» fries that they so rave about(and underline the word«FREE» consistently throughout their menu) were horrible. Tasteless, soggy and… just yuck. I was so disappointed because I was really hoping it would be better than that. I will not be going back simply because they showed no regard for serving safe food(uncooked red meat) and that the Polish Sausage made my better half sick to her stomach. If food makes you sick and you see a total disregard for public safety, you don’t give them your business ever again. Ever.
