Like stepping over the border from Texas onto the streets of Ciudad Juárez: Super-authentic & delicious Mexican fare(esp. the perfectly-charred chorizo), very affordable, Telemundo playing telenovelas, and the girl that took our order didn’t speak a lick of English. For added authenticity, two armed, body-armored U.S. Marshals walked in during our meal, inquiring with staff about a wanted fugitive. Doesn’t get any realer than this.

Came here really late at night after working very late. Food was good and service was fine. When I went it was all Mexican people just hanging out and talking with the cook and waitress. Only the late night dining makes it stand out to me, but for that I could just go to Garcia’s on Western.

It all starts when u first sit… you get a basket filled with freshly cooked chips and bean dip… Yumm! Everything I’ve eaten here has been delish! open 24 hrs, so u can come on the weekend after a night out. Great Mexican breakfast dishes like chilaquiles and great tacos and enchiladas… among other mexican dishes… homemade salsa is delish… the staff is super friendly and helpful… you may have to act out what u want sometimes because authentic Mexican food sometimes means your waitress won’t speak English… lol Grab your favorite beer and stop by… you won’t be disappointed. I’ve been here so much the cook waves at me when I come thru the door… Now one of my favorite places to eat! Must try the chile rellenos.

I lived accross the stree from this little place for a year and I can not tell you the amount of times I ate there. The tacos are the best I’ve had in the city, and when you add one of their horchatas to the mix you just can’t go wrong. The staff is so nice and the décor is warm and happy, even at 3am. I recommend the tacos de lengua and the tacos de chorizo. Add a little green salsa to that and you can die a happy person!

So I came here the other night for some huevos rancheros. Huevos rancheros happen to be my favorite Mexican dish(I’m easy like that). Los Faroles’ huevos rancheros are pretty solid. Not great, but not terrible. BUT, this place serves complimentary chips and BEANS! I’ve never been to a place that did that before, and for that it gets 4 stars! PS: It seemed like there were some gangbangers just hanging out at the bar, not really drinking, not really eating… just watching telenovelas on TV. I dunno if they were just killing time or if this is a usual spot for them. They weren’t really bothering anybody, but if those types of people scare you then you should prolly stay away.

I’ve been here twice with friends late a night. They have a really sweet staff and great food to match. Steak tacos are a great choice. My friends and I didn’t speak spanish and the waitress only spoke spanish, but despite the language barrier the service was great and our order was perfect. Super cheap and super delicioso.
