Best place ever. They always take care of me when it comes to hair, eyebrows, and nails. The stylists are attentive and always have great suggestions. The stylist Julie does a great balayage if ur looking to get that done.

Awesome! This is a small family owned business that takes care of their customers. I walk in and get greeted with coffee and pastries like I’m at some high end downtown salon. Juliana is passionate about her hair and makeup and will not settle for anything less than perfect. She will have you walking out of the salon with confidence and a smile. They will always work with your crazy schedule. The prices cannot be beat for the type of quality you get here! Enjoy.

Julie & her mom Latta are seriously amazing! Not only do they make you feel comfortable but they know what theyre doing. I always struggled to find a stylist that i really liked. This is the first salon i have gone into & actually got what i wanted! Ive been coming here for 2 years straight and everytime i leave from here i get non stop compliments. They are the only people I trust with my super thick hair!

This is the worst hair salon I have ever been to. First of all, the main stylist never looked at my hair, one of her other assistants did and she never asked any questions as to what my natural hair color is, she assumed it was brown when in fact it was black and I had dyed it brown over a year ago. I went in with a dark red color that had some dark patches and asked for it to be a lighter red. I asked the stylist if she could make all of my hair ONE color and she had assured me she would. I asked if she would be using bleach to lighten it up since my hair is dark and she said it wasn’t necessary and because this is a professional salon– I didn’t question their judgment. Mind you, I sat in the chair for an hour and I could tell that there was no difference in the hair color– it was still the same with lighter roots. When I told the girl working on my hair that I’m not seeing anything, she said to wait until we washed it and dried it. Even after washing it, I could tell there was no difference. As she started blow drying it, you can see that my roots were a light red almost orangish looking color while the bottom of my hair was the same original color I came in with. I told the girl that was working on my hair that this isn’t what I came in for and she called the main stylist(and owner) of the store to look and she tried convincing me that it was all one color but any human with good working eyes can see that it wasn’t one color. Not only were they extremely rude but another stylist got involved and started yelling and blaming me for not telling them that my hair had been dyed brown over a year ago. Any decent, professional stylist would ask these questions and not assume anything. They all started yelling and their voices got extremely loud. Overall it was an extremely bad experience and I wouldn’t recommend anyone who wants their hair to look like it was done by a professional to go there. Honestly my hair would’ve probably looked better if I had gotten a $ 6 dye box from Walmart and done it on my own.

I walked in because i was in need of a haircut, my ends were burnt and my hair was looking crazy. Tina gave me an amazing STRAIGHT cut exactly the way i wanted. Most stylists try to get you to do layers, because i guess they don’t have to be as precise, but Tina was quick to give me exactly what i wanted. I must say that I’ve never experienced a better shampooing than this one; my headache that was setting in was alleviated by the masterful hands of this stylist. I will definitely make this my next haircut stop. AMAZING!!!

Absolutely unexpected ! A friend of mine gave me a hair cut which turned out to be a real fiasco. I didn’t dare going anywhere ! So I made an emergency appointment with that salon, Level one, just around the corner… And it is a gem ! 1 — There are not many hair salons in the neighborhood 2 — They gave me an appointment last minute, knowing that they would have to close later than usual 3 — Lata, the owner and the hairdresser who took care of me, made sure many times that it was OK to cut my hair short(she didn’t want me to be traumatized) 4 — She took her time, and told me to tell her I there was something I didn’t like. «Now is the time« 5 — She was super friendly, like genuinely friendly 6 — It was super cheap ! 7 — She did an amazingly professional job. Now I have a great hair cut ! Conclusion: I’ve walked by that hair salon I don’t know how many times. Now, it will definitely be my spot ! Thank you so much Lata !

Me and my friends were looking for a best place to get the hair cut and colouring and we did not even know about LEVELONE which was just near us! We Unilocaled and found it. This is the great place I’ve ever been for hair cut. Latta and Tina are the best people who knows their job professionally. They try to give their best advice before doing haircuts or colouring or smth else. They try to work slow because they do everything with absolute carefulness. And they are fun, U can talk to them on different themes. And you will not notice how the time passes fast and they are done with your hair. I’ve fallen in love with these people’s service. Recommend to everybody near this neighbourhood. And good luck!!! :)

So there I was, on New Year’s Eve, with a job interview on Jan 2 and some extremely shaggy locks. My usual stylist was recovering from illness, and I needed a haircut STAT! So, I called Latta to see if she could squeeze me in and sure enough, she did. I went in and Bana gave me exactly the haircut I asked for. No arguments, no attempts to sell me «Product» and no attempts to shame me into getting my hair cut more often.(My three biggest peeves!) I am a happy customer.

Great Place close to home, and love that I can procrastinate and Lata will still fit me in anytime! Lata and Bana are wonderful, and friendly… very comfortable enviornment. i can go in wearing my sweats and I don;t feel like I am competing with the«image» expected at some of the other salons. I am now saving almost 75.00 on my cut and color compared to what i used to pay at the«name-brand» Salon.

I got a great brazilian blowout from this place. If you want thorough work, this is the salon to be in. I absolutely love Lata and Bana, her assistant. For my service, they both worked for almost two hours tirelessly. I am so grateful for the final product and the price was super reasonable compared to other places,

Event: Obama Fundraiser at Navy Pier! Needed: My hair done… again.(What if I ran into Mr. D Rose?! *swooon*) Destination: Level One I passed this place COUNTLESS times since I grew up in this ‘hood. Since I knew I’d be running errands for my parents prior to the event, I busted up in here, hoping I didn’t need an appointment. Thankfully, they told me it’d be no problem… and off to work the nice employee went(I forgot her name, but I swore it began with a B!). She did a wonderful job — flipping out the ends slightly and giving my hair some bounce. I have decided that I don’t really like my hair when it’s stick straight. Why not have some waves/curls if you can? Once again, I was in love the style of my hair… and wondered why I am not blessed with the ability to use a round brush like that. The salon is small and cozy… and I saw a whole swarm of regulars pop in while I was there. This place has been here forever, so they must do a good job. The best thing are the prices! They only charged me $ 28 for my blowdry and style! What a steal!(I actually think it’s less, but since I have so much hair, they had to up it a little bit. No big.) Also, they offer threading — eyebrow($ 6) and upper lip($ 5) and mani’s($ 12). Cheapness, for sure.

Latta is the only stylist who totally understands my hair, and she is absolutely fabulous. Level One isn’t one of those super fancy/chic downtown salons, but her prices are a fraction of most of those salons and her cuts and colors are better. With those other places you’re paying extra for the ambiance, but With Latta and Level One, you’re paying for a high quality and fabulous haircut(plus blow-dry) and fantastic hair coloring. Too bad I live in the suburbs now, because I’m not able to get back to her as often as I’d like. She’s a magician with shears!!!

I am a serious procrastinator and when I found out that I needed to attend a «formal» event for work, I put off booking an appointment to get my hair done. Since I was looking for something simple and am not too particular, I went to Level on the recommendation of a friend. I was able to call a few days ahead of time and easily get an appointment. When I walked in Latta was just finishing up her last appointment, a woman in her early 40’s who had just gotten a cut and color. She looked fantastic and I felt my insecurities about going in blind to a new stylist dissipate. Latta understood exactly what I wanted and assured me that I would not look like I was going to the prom. She completely delivered on her promise and I walked out with a rockin«hairdo» and freshly threaded eyebrows for under $ 40. The eyebrow threading was done by the other woman(her assistant I think) and it kind of hurt. Regardless, the threading was done well and I looked bright eyed and fancy haired for my big event. Street parking is easy but make sure you feed the meter enough because the parking police get bored in this part of town.

I got my hair cut and eyebrows threaded last night by Lotta and I walked out one happy lady! It’s a small storefront, and never too busy. They do a little bit of everything: cuts, color, waxing, pedi/mani. I now know where I will go for my beauty upkeep needs.

Lata, is the sweetest woman and she gives a great hair cut and color. She can generally squeeze you in day of if not the next day and is affordable. Great for the overworked and underpaid! Forget the glam of a big spa-ish salon, this is a small storefront, but very nice and comfortable. They do mani’s and Pedi’s too!
