Gang infested Saturday at 7pm we were there, plus the waitress tells us the the prices on the menu are 1 or 2 dollars more. We have been to south side locations and loved it. We got up and left and will never return to this location.

I’ll start with the bad because this really stopped my wife from coming here again. I love seafood and my wife loves shrimp. She ordered a ceviche style dish where the shrimp was split down the middle. Everything was fine until she noticed something that disturbed her immensely. Throughout her dish, the sandy veins of the shrimp was scattered floating through out her meal. My wife asked for the same dish and wondered why the shrimp wasnt cleaned out. She proceeded to eat her new dish but couldn’t continue because she lost her appetite and settled to eat the chips instead. She said it disappounted her because the dish did taste very good. Having said all that, Las Islas Marias II shines with it’s seafood selection. I’ve had their ceviche, shrimp cocktail with octopus and oysters on a half shell. All very good. They dont slouch on their tacos or burritos. The prices are reasonable and staff are friendly and helpful if you have questions on the menu. It’ll be a while before my wife steps foot in here again but I’m willing to try Islas Marias II over and over again. Just please devain your shrimp.

I’ve been to many Islas Maria’s and this is my favorite. Best food, service and micheladas!

My husband and I had heard about this place(and we live in just neighboring Roscoe Village) and finally this past weekend, we went. It was great. Huge portions and really tasty food(my husband just loved his spicy shrimp soup and I had a larger than life shrimp quesadilla). The prices are really reasonable. The service was great – very friendly! The only bad part is that is can be a little intimidating to go in there. Spanish cartoons loud on the TV, dated décor, strange table set-up…but from my experience this only means it is probably about as authentic Mexican as you can get. I will definitely be back to dine there and it is safe to say it will be our new Mexican take-out/delivery go-to place in the area.

Ordered two tacos(beef and pastor pork) and two dinner plates(shrimp in garlic sauce and the octopus in house sauce). While the tacos were nothing special, the seafood dishes were remarkably delicious. Both were rich and flavorful, with layers of Latin spice, served with sides of rice and salad. The octopus was especially tender; among the best I’ve had. The included green sauce was also notably tasty(and super spicy!). My only criticism would be the use of too much salt in the dishes. Half the salt would have been perfect; there’s so much delicious flavor there. Give them a shot if you love Latin cuisine and seafood. I know I’ll likely be ordering again.

I was on a mission to have tacos. My friend and I stumbled across this place as we were walking by, boy was I glad! It’s a small little place, with delicious food. We each got two tacos and guacamole to share. We had some slightly odd requests for our tacos, mine sans cilantro and hers veggie, and they worked with it beautifully. All the food was delicious and quick. And the horchata… yes! It was the perfect amount of sweet. Yum!!! Service was also fantastic. The waitress was attentive, but never overly attentive. So happy we made this find on our walk around Logan in search of tacos.
