By far the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Mike sure came up with a delicious way to make a sandwich. Plus you can’t go wrong with their loyalty program that eventually gets you a free sandwich after so many purchases. The location downtown on Wells has the friendliest employees who don’t give you dirty looks or get mad at you if you walk in a few minutes before they close. They always greet you when you walk in the door and carry on a conversation with you until you pay. Very unlike other sandwich shops. I just wish they’d open one up in Wicker Park! I’d eat lunch there all the time!

Big fan of this place. Though I keep checking in at the Monroe location, this is the one I go to, duh. Just noticed this place near my office, and since I loved it when I visited the now closed Roosevelt location, I’m back! The location itself is clean and bright. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The coffee is REALLYGOOD. Hot and fresh, great flavor. So far I’ve only been here for breakfast sandwiches, which are great! Pork, egg and cheese on a Kaiser roll is just the ticket. So good! Another day, I mixed it up with Salami(yes, SALAMI) egg and cheese — which is not on the menu — but the intrepid staff was unfazed! The only question was«Grilled or not?» Yes! Grill it! All the sandwiches are made to order, and they are really savoy and tasty. Will definitely be back for a lunchtime sub sandwich! Ohhh, and there’s a Unilocal Check In offer! Bonus!

staff is friendly and efficient. My gripe is the mats in the front door, and by the soda fountains are hazards. Big dip in the floor is also an accident waiting to happen. woman walking around with broom and dustpan smacking it loudly(on more than one visit) is not cool. Food consistently good and fresh

I really like jersey mikes, but there is one thing you should do if you go there when you order your sandwich and they ask if you want it mikes way be sure to tell them that you want the seasonings and then the vinagar and oil on before the tomatoes because if you have them put the vinagar and oil on the tomatoes it all splashes right off because the pulp on the tomatoes will not let the liquid go through, if you have them put it on before the tomatoes it really soaks into the shredded lettuce nice and creates a more jucier sandwich try it once and you will never go back, so next time you go try it YOUR way

I give the Jersey Mikes @120 N. Wells in Chicago 1 star. The manager there Renaldo is very rude and should not have a job if it was up to me. They do not honor the 4.99 coupon on Unilocal if you check in. He gets an attitude if you why he not going to accept the offer off Unilocal.SOMEONEPLEASEFIRETHATMAN. he should not be in food service.

People behind the counter mumble, so it’s hard to interact with them sometimes(not all, but most of them). The sammiches are good, but they’re so stingy with the meat, makes you wonder why you are paying $ 8 – 9 for bread. Also, I ordered a cup of soup and they filled it half way… another rip off. The Jersey Mike’s in the burbs was way better and there are so many other options in this particular area of the loop, why bother? Hey Jersey Mike’s corporates: you need to make the experience more consistent across locations and stop nickel and diming me on the lunch meat.

Our office ordered from here today for lunch. I got the chefs salad. The salad was one of the worst I have ever had in my life. I would have given this place 1* but they came on time so I give them 2*. The salad was not really a salad at all. It was the shredded lettuce that goes on top of a sub and then some cheese and ham. That was it. Nothing else! I do give this place credit because the salad was $ 8 and the cost of the salad to them was like $ 0.50. They got some great profit margins there. Next time the office orders from here I will either try a different salad or go somewhere else.

Wow, I just had a really embarassing experience at this Jersey Mike’s The guy before me was getting a ham sandwich. I don’t eat ham for religious reasons, so I asked if the lady could change her gloves before touching my sandwich even though she had already touched it. She complied. However, she later gave me attitude saying«What do you not want me to not touch?» Then the guy at the register chimed in and I explained to him in simple terms that I am Kosher and I don’t eat swine and all I wanted was her to change her gloves. He was looking at me like I’m an alien. I don’t understand why they had such a big problem understanding this. Meanwhile everyone is looking at me like I asked something weird. What’s the irony here? Jersey Mike’s is from the east coast where this request due to dietary restrictions for not eating swine would not even be questioned. The second is that it shares a space with the Jewish Federation. LOL. Seriously, someone train these people and cut it with the attitude when someone asks you to do something non-cookie cutter. Even Subway won’t make a big deal with this request. Will not be returning even though I work two blocks away. Awful service. As for the sandwich, I’ve lost my appetite and I don’t think I’m going to eat it anyway even though I paid for it.

Finally, got to try a Jersey Mike’s Subs… and here are my findings. At this location, the manager was extremely friendly and prompt. I did arrive prior to the lunch time crowd as I was the only person there. I was given a free beverage and coupons since I was a first time customer. I ordered the tuna sandwich… since it is still Lent for some people… The tuna seemed moist, wet almost and to a degree bland. It was a clean, fresh taste in comparison. The tuna was nicely spread out over the bread, which was a switch. I felt there weren’t as many topping I am used too. The bread was very good too. Very pleased. I think my overall experience was quite positive however I remain a loyal Subway fan. I like there are more options than just Subway around these days. The American palette is changing for health reasons and your typical greasy hamburger and salty French fries at McDonald’s or the like, may not be the best choice for lunch going forward. I will be back to Jersey Mike’s! … Good Luck!

I got a coupon here for a sub while attending a fundraiser for a fair housing group — so they’re supportive of local community organizations. +1 there. Then the subs! Subway had me giving up on subs — I didnt know they could be delicious. Jersey Mikes made me a believer again! Ive just had the big kahuna sub and the philly cheesesteak sub so far. Their bread is really soft and holds the sandwich together so you can eat it without it falling all over the place — a pet peeve I have with sandwiches in general. Ill be there again this week. Lots of cheese and great tasting ingredients. Yum!

If I’m in the mood for a great sandwich for lunch I go to Jersey Mikes. Their food is so fresh and they cut the meat right there in front of you. I love the #13 Original Italian that made Jersey Mikes famous. It has provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni(As you can tell I love meat!) I always make sure to get my sandwich Mike’s way which adds onions, oil, vinegar and italian seasoning. Jersey Mikes is the place to go for a fresh sandwich that will be sure to fill you up.

Let me tell you something; if you haven’t tried Jersey Mike’s yet, you need to try it. I’ve had a lot of sandwiches from a lot of chains, but this is by far my favorite sandwich shop. Yea I said it. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is fantastic, and it’s reasonably priced. I say try your sandwich Mike’s way: onions, oil, vinegar, and Italian seasoning. They also have this spicy pepper sandwich spread that is vinegary and delicious, and nice thickly sliced pickles. I allow myself to eat out to lunch once a week, and every week I say I’m“m going to try a new restaurant, but all I can think about is the deliciousness of Jersey Mike’s. And no offense to my fellow Unilocalers, but Jimmy John’s ain’t got nothin on Jersey Mike’s.

Good ass«fast» subs — both hot and cold. Why do I like them? Because they are consistently good and — well, simple. You walk in, look up at the board, pick the sandwich by the number, the size, white or wheat bread, and whether you want it Mike’s way(also explained on the board), if not, tell them what you want on it — and you don’t have to pick from a ton of toppings, a nice basic choices. The clincher for me is that they cut the meats and cheeses in front of you on a slicer — nice and thin — so thin in fact that even I eat meat — normally I shy away from meat subs — but not from Jersey Mikes — and this place PACKS on the meat — These suckers have a nice solid weight to them from all the meats.(I feel like pig for saying that) Anyway — in this particular location, it’s pretty much an assembly line — no time to get to know the staff — unlike the Niles location I also frequent, which is much more relaxed. But it’s expected given the larger volume of people — I have to give to them credit, they crank out those sandwiches at a nice pace! Some good stuff here…

Came for the first time a few days ago. I ordered the Original Italian — Mike’s Way without onions. The veggies were fresh and he put a good amount of the vinegar and seasoning, but I still felt it was bland. I did like that cornmeal like crunch that the bottom of the bread had. They are pricier than other sandwich shops. I’m not sure if I would return, but the workers there were all very nice. Very clean inside. Also, boo they offer Pepsi and not Coke.

I’ve eaten here 5 – 10 times with a friend from work. The first time I was underwhelmed. I’m not sure if they didn’t put enough of the spices on top or what but it was kinda bland. Luckily, we gave it another chance since we had a BOGO card. I’d say that the sub is up there with Jimmy John’s and better than Subway or Potbelly. The meat and cheese are all sliced to order and the bread has a little fight to it, unlike the Subway«white bread» rolls. I’d also recommend asking them to go easy on the red vinegar, especially if you’re getting it to go. Even eating there the first time my bread was a soggy mess from sitting in the vinegar pool! Why the 3 stars, then? They are about 25% more expensive than Jimmy John’s. Me being a cheapass, I’ve never paid full price. Early on we had BOGO deals and then they handed out free chip and drink coupons on the street which I stocked up on. If you check in on Unilocal, you can currently(Feb 2012) get a sandwich for $ 4.99 or you can buy a $ 10 certificate on Unilocal for $ 8. Look for a deal and it’s a good place to go. Otherwise $ 11 for a regular sandwich, drink, chips and tax at a fast food place is kind of expensive.
