Hosted a party here last Monday and all of our guests loved the food! They were very attentive and filled up meals quick for our guests! The managers were checking in on us every few minutes and the food was delicious!

Authentic Mexican food. Nice sized portions. Reasonably priced. Love their Chicken Enchiladas. Chicken burritos are very good. Plenty of dining room space. Nice ambiance. Live music most evenings. Fresh ingredients. Friendly hostess. Good waiters.

I used to live in Lincoln Park as a DePaul student and never tried this place. But I finally decided to drag my boyfriend this evening and I had an extremely mixed experience. I loved the environment — very casual and relaxed. We were seated immediately and I had to order the Guacamole. It was AWESOME! The waiter came back with drinks and we ordered our main entrees — Burrito Dinner and Steak Enchiladas. Again, phenomenal! Great simple flavors that all went together perfectly. I would not hesitate to eat again. However, the waitstaff is another story. The waiter had very little personality, but I can understand because he has to run from table to table. But then we never saw him again after we ordered our food. The food was brought by the another server and our waiter never returned until he realized that we were waiting for the bill. The lack of attention to the guest is somewhat a problem for me. I don’t expect to be bombarded constantly, but it would have been nice if he stopped once to check on us. And then when I attempted to compliment the food, he didn’t seem care about what I was saying. I just wanted to give my thanks for a great meal and our waiter completely ignored me and was literally walking away as I was speaking. So… the food is totally worth it, but the staff is another question. OH, and FYI, I did leave him a 1⁄3 tip.

For the past few years I have been coming here! I always have a great time, whether it’s the live music, or watching games there. The food is delicious, I pretty much have tried everything, my personal favorite is the Fiesta combination plate and a Margarita! The owners are wonderful and do a great job at making sure the customers are satisfied. I will always recommend Fiesta Mexicana!

Whenever my friends and I are looking for a good time we go to Fiesta. It is always fun and has amazing food! If you are unsure of what to get order the tacos. They are ALWAYS delicious. Their fried beans are soooo good. But really, I haven’t had a dish here that I didn’t like even a little bit, so if you are thinking of trying something new go for it! Honestly, the service and atmosphere makes this restaurant stand out. I think it even makes the food better. The waiters are always funny and helpful. They always refill are chips and water as soon as they become empty. If you are ever in the DePaul neighborhood stop by and check this place out!

I’m literally sitting in this restaurant as I write this and so super annoyed. It’s not even crowded, it’s a Tuesday night and not a damn waiter can get their act together here. I can’t even hear myself think because the music is so outrageously loud. I’m sorry, is this a nightclub on Tuesdays? Ordered drinks, I mentioned I’d like to order tacos, took him another 10mins to come back. Received tacos, they’re so underwhelming in size and flavor. We literally started ordering with whoever would walk by at this point. The manager even checked on us(I think) and he knew we were displeased — not a gesture like can I offer you some guacamole, another round on me, NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING. Customer service is lacking to say the least. I guess they figure they don’t need nor want patrons returning, or they just don’t give a SH! t I can’t wait to just pay and get out of here. This is what a Mexican restaurant wants to represent in Lincoln Park? I grew up in this neighborhood and always saw this place, not sure how they’re making it. Never came in here before and now I surely know why. This review would not have been written if the manager would have just offered something to make up for our experience. I had to get up and leave after putting cash down. No tip left on purpose. I’m in the service industry and this is unacceptable. Ruined an otherwise good night as I walk out with my ears ringing and a headache from the damn music.

We’ve been here several times now and the food is excellent with great presentations, service very friendly and atmosphere above average! We had the Fiesta Combo and Mar y Terra.(surf & turf) and the entrees were delish. Not sure why some reviews under par, but we feel undeserved. Bathrooms very clean too! We’ll be back soon

Not very good, and not very flavorful. The enchiladas were uneventful and not that good. I found a piece of plastic in them, as well.

It’s a bit overpriced and not very flavorful. Not the best guacamole I’ve ever had — wish it had some more cilantro, lime, and even peppers! I usually get their ceviche instead of guac and their fish tacos are kind of bland also. Wish their shrimp fajitas weren’t so expensive :(

I have come here many times and the food is always very flavorful. I really love the taco salad– the shredded chicken is flavorful and all of the toppings taste well together. I also have to give the service two thumbs up, as the workers are extremely quick and friendly.

After taking some time I reviewed other Unilocalers reviews about this place. Which I then decided to order from them again, since this restaurant is in close proximity of my job. My meal of choice was the steak taco dinner with rice and beans. The steak tacos were amazing. The meat was not overly cooked. The tacos were packed with sweet onions and meat with Pico de giao sauce on top. Kiss the cook because he was generous when fixing my meal. Surprisingly I was unable to eat everything despite it was only three tacos. Two kinds of salsa were provided with the meal although I rather enjoyed the green salsa. The only issue I have is the pickup setup. I always order on grubhub since I kind of short on time. The bartenders are not abreast to which customers prepaid. Nor do they read off the order to you and ask of you may need anything else. I had to request for extra utensils and napkins.

Live music on Friday is so loud you can’t talk. Drinks aren’t bad but my date just wanted 2 steak tacos and the server said ‘the kitchen will kill her’ if she put that order in. I ordered the taco dinner and they surcharged us $ 2 for ordering a menu deviation. Too many other decent Mexican places in the neighborhood to go here.

Solid Mexican food at this Lincoln Park joint. We started with some killer guacamole. Our table then tried the fajitas — they come in a large portion with plenty of chicken and shrimp. All was cooked to perfection. We also had a chicken burrito and it was really good. Finally, the chicken enchiladas were on point. Check this place out for lunch or dinner if you’re in that area.

Awesome traditional Mexican food in colorful and laid back atmosphere. And of course you can’t forget the pitchers of margaritas!

Customer service isn’t that good. Food was okay. Server had a bit of an attitude. When something can’t work, server didn’t help solve problem.

PASSONTHISPLACE. Mediocre food, mediocre service. Our server checked on us twice even though the place was relatively empty on a Sunday afternoon. He had the worst attitude, he acted like we were doing him a favor by eating there. Skip it, there is better Mexican food in Chicago with much better service. Best thing about this place is the location.

I met up with some ol’ college buds at Fiesta Mexicana for lunch. Fiesta Mexicana has seemingly been on Lincoln Avenue forever, but I honestly do not recall eating here before. One of my buds says this place was remodeled awhile ago, and it does have a pleasant look in the dining area. Our table was by the window, which was open for us to appreciate the brilliant summer weather and the accompanying noise from loud vehicles rumbling down LIncoln. Believe it or not, the men’s room looks rather sharp with colorful paintings and stylish wall tiles and wash basins. It actually seemed clean! We received complimentary chips and salsa, which were fine. We had some spinach and mushroom quesadillas, which tasted wholesome if not overly flavorful. The guys also had ceviche for an appetizer, but I passed on that. My meal was a plate of three taquitos, which were soft shell and smaller than regulation sized tacos, but stacked with tasty and tender barbacoa meat. I also received a bowl of beans with tortilla strips(called drunken beans I think??), not sure if this is a soup or a side order or what but it was fine. Although not the most memorable Mexican food ever, we enjoyed a pretty decent lunch in Lincoln Park

I don’t know why we ate here. It looked clean and yummy, but I should have read the reviews. Let’s start with their chips and salsa. The salsa was decent, however, their chips were cold, stale, and tasted like they came from a bag. Honestly, I can make better tortilla chips at home. We each had a margarita, and it was fruity/syrupy, and we could not taste the alcohol. We thought the fajitas would be the«safe» choice. My friend ordered the veggie fajitas, and I ordered the steak. First off, they do give you a HUGE portion. I feel, however, this was a waste of money. The veggies and meat had no flavor whatsoever. Really? How about a little extra virgin olive oil and sea salt… or something, anything. I asked for corn tortillas, they gave me flour, when they corrected it, it was a little better because at least the corn tortillas were warm. I was able to douse the food with cheese(which I had to order on the side because it doesn’t come with it) and salsa and guac to make it edible. All in all it was edible, but not enjoyable. To add insult to injury we had to wait 25 minutes for our check and it was not a busy time. Don’t be fooled by the ambiance and décor, there are much better places to eat.

Service was friendly, but unfortunately the food was rather average. The chips at the beginning of the meal were stale, and the guacamole was bland. The veggie burritos and veggie fajitas lacked much flavor. The rest of the meal was also just average. There are better mexican restaurants in the neighborhood.

I come to Fiesta from time to time. The weekly drink specials are a pretty good deal. They have mariachi bands play on the weekends, which is fun. But the food is just ok. If you want authentic mexican, this is not the place to go.

Went here on a Friday night with a group of six and got seated right away. They brought waters and chips and salsa right off the bat which was nice. They have live music on Friday nights which was really fun. Its a bit loud if you’re sitting in the front room though. I got the skirt steak enchiladas which were delicious. Everyone’s food was really good except my friend who got the Mexican jambalaya was unimpressed. After we placed our food order originally the waitress sort of disappeared and it took a long time to get boxes and then the check at the end of the night. While the food was really good overall it was fairly expensive when their are so many hole in the whole Mexican joints in the city that charge half as much. I wasn’t happy that our Coronas were $ 6, that’s a bit ridiculous. Overall, food was really good but service and price force me to drop it down to 3 stars.

This place is confusing. When my friend and I walked in we thought we would just get some margaritas and an app and then go drink some more at another place. The host was nice and sat us in the main dining area. It was SO loud. They had a flipping DJ who was spinning some Mexican beats. I mean I like the concept to an extent but holy shit turn down the speakers! It ain’t a night club. So we asked to be seated by the bar area thinking it might be less loud. It wasn’t lol. My friend and I were texting each other in order to communicate. I ordered the regular silver margarita and I asked the server to have the bar add some mezcal cuz a margarita ain’t a margarita without mezcal, amiright? He had the most comical confused look on his face and he says the place doesn’t have any mezcal. Um excuse me? Isn’t this a Mexican restaurant? He tells me they are all pre-made. OHHELLNO! I hate pre-made margaritas. But I acquiesced and got it anyway. It was disgusting. I immediately told him to get me the strawberry margarita my friend was having and he immediately switched. So 3 stars for customer service. For food we just had their Mexican egg rolls which were around 9 bucks I think but you only get 4 half pieces which is kinda expensive. They were good though.

I have been to Fiesta Mexicana MANY times, and usually love it. The food is good and reasonably priced, and I am a big fan of the many types of margaritas. Last night though, I had a HORRIBLE experience with the service here. I went with friends after a theatre performance, and we arrived in a large group of people without a reservation. Our host asked how many diners would ultimately be in our party, as we were waiting on more to arrive in addition to those of us already present, and we were unable to tell him exactly how many people would be coming. To be fair, I have worked in restaurants and understand how frustrating this can be, but also know that it happens fairly regularly, and can be dealt with. Additionally, there was ONE couple in the restaurant besides my group, so it was very easy for them to set up for us. Still – the staff had no problem expressing how annoyed they were at our request. Upon ordering, the service was SOSLOW. I ordered one margarita and quesadilla at the same time(after waiting for the waitress to arrive to the table for about 15 minutes) and somehow received my food a good ten minutes BEFORE my margarita?(It took about half an hour before everyone had their drinks, and another twenty at least for our food… all of us getting things at different times, even though we ordered together) Again, we were practically the ONLY people in the place! When it was time to leave, I asked for my individual check, to which the waitress responded«I can’t do individual checks. If I do one for you, I’ll have to print individual checks for the whole table.» UMM yeah, that’s what we want! I have been here many times with groups, as I said, and they have always separated checks, so I KNOW that they are capable! I saw a man standing near our table, and asked if he was a manager. He replied«sure», whatever that means! I explained the situation, expecting him to take care of it, but he too said that they could not divide the checks. He also informed us that they could only take up to 5 credit cards. Many of my friends actually had to LEAVE the restaurant to go to an ATM so that they could pay their bills! All in all, this was ridiculous. The staff was unnecessarily slow and extremely rude. This place used to be a favorite, but I will think twice about returning after this awful, awful experience.

Came here extremely drunk one afternoon. I will update my review when I go here again on the sober side. Well ordered margaritas with beers in them. I ordered it a specific way and it wasn’t what I wanted so I sent it back and the bartender or manager was extremely pissed off. Which just for that I should take off a star but maybe he was having an off day. Told me server to order whatever for me that he thought was the best and he did a great job. Got the skirt steak with fries. It came with onions, beans and fries with cheese with hot sauce. Damn it was good! But like I said before I was wasted lol. Both my friends got the torta and they enjoyed the a lot as well. Manger or bartender was an ass– my service was kind but it seemed like he didn’t understand me too well.

I tried Fiesta Mexicana for a quick weekend lunch. I ordered the Milanesa de Polla Torta, but from my first bite, I was struck by the sandwich’s – well, its tastelessness. Even with its light breading, the chicken reminded me of a sawdust patty, my description for any chicken breast that hasn’t met a marinade or heavy sprinkle of seasoning. The green salsa added fire but not flavor. And the accoutrements – pale shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, a sad sliver or two of avocado, a thin layer of refried beans, a dollop of sour cream – didn’t make a difference, either. I want to like the place: Our server was kind and attentive; the restaurant was even decorated for Valentine’s Day, with pink and red heart-shaped balloons floating from each table. But despite the balloons, I wasn’t feeling the love.(You’re welcome to groan at that joke.)
