I’ve dined many times at the south loop location which is incredible but checked this one out the other day. I will admit, I definitely prefer the south loop location more. The atmosphere and staff are superior there. At this location, the server we had wasn’t the best. And the host took forever to seat us even though there were a ton of tables available. The food is really good. High quality diner food. If you like a sweet breakfast, I highly recommend the French toast with strawberries, bananas, and coconut. It’s incredible!

Food was great, amazing root beer, service was quick, prices were fair, super cute décor. My only complaint were the fried onions. I expected typical fried onion rings but instead got a pile of the little frizzled onions you’d put on a burger or green bean casserole, which we ordered as an appetizer but we’re brought out with our meal. They were cold, super greasy, and we were each only able to eat a few bites before saying no more. I’m glad we got the«little mountain». Well definitely be back for breakfast though!

I think I’m done with Eleven Lincoln Park. After my last review, I ended up going home from work, and I was sick from the greasy food. I’ll spare you the details, but it was more than a sore tummy. Today I went back to give them a second try for breakfast. But they weren’t open. Should I have checked before walking over there? Yes, that’s on me. But I also don’t think it’s unreasonable to assume that a place which advertises«breakfast all day» will be open for breakfast. We left and went to Orange.

Fun décor with nostalgic feel in the middle of an urban area. Everything is clean. Comfort food that was very good.

Alright I’m a fan, but like most sequels it’s not as good as the original. They’ve still got most of the same food highlighted by an amazing matzo ball soup and some killer corned beef, but they lack efficiency making it more of a nine or even an eight city diner. The bar area is a complete clusterfuck. They don’t take reservations so this waiting area is usually packed. If you hope to take sanctuary sipping on a bloody or a beer just be prepared for a battle as if you’re at a meat market night club. There’s servers swapping places, ringing in food, and stepping all over each other which makes it tough for the one guy that’s bartending to get everyone drinks in the order that they stepped to the bar. This could have been caused by a POS system being down or another bartender calling off or something, but it was definitely noticeable. Not enough to not love their food, but after this experience I’d probably make my way to the South Loop next time I want this Jewish deli.

I love this place. It’s an authentic NY-style deli that does a great breakfast and my favorite sandwich the Sam Levy. I suggest the breakfast potatoes done extra crispy. While people in other posts complain about the price, I have always found it quite reasonable. The place is super clean and they play comedy albums in the bathroom. It’s a great ambience and unlike any other place in Chicago.

Stopped by for a quick lunch today. Had chicken soup that was pretty bland and mac & cheese with bacon that was super good and came in a huge bowl — wish I had skipped the soup and had more room for the mac. Service was fast and friendly, not too expensive. Pepsi products(trust me, this is important for the Diet Coke fanatics like me to know when considering where to eat).

I waited at the entrance of this restaurant by the cashier desk hoping somebody would help for 10 minutes. Nobody did and no sign to tell me what to do either. After couple groups of people passing me and getting their name on the list I realized I should have walked into the restaurant and ask them to enter my name into waiting list. Then the group of two behind me sit on the small bar-like area, I was one person and would totally sit on bar but never had a chance to. Then I waited another 20 minutes to be seated no luck. Bad experience, never coming here again.

Came here with a group of 5 for Sunday brunch around 10 am. We didn’t have to wait to get seated which surprised me! I think this location might still be under the radar. It definitely doesn’t have the authentic feel I imagine the one down on Wabash has… it’s in a new multipurpose sort of building on the corner of Fullerton and Clark. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which was really, really good! Huge sandwich with your choice of two meats and it came with potatoes. The omelettes and scrambles looked great as well. 5 stars for food all around! So why isn’t my overall rating 5 stars? Good question. I have to give 4 stars because our food took FOREVER to come out. Way, way too long. To their credit, they gave us a free plate of cheese fries that were delicious! Food is awesome! If it comes out faster next time I will bump them up to 5 stars.

I’m gonna say from the start, my dish(the Fried Matzo Brie) was more like three stars and that is only because the salami I added pushed it up a star. The dish itself is a weird idea(think french toast except made with matzo cracker instead of bread) but it comes supposedly with maple syrup. Yeah, its fakey-fake Aunt Jemima which I hate! And I would not have ordered that had the waitress not assured me I was getting real maple syrup. I tried to salvage it with tabasco, and that sort of worked? But i would never order that dish again. So why four stars? Because if you stay on the safe side things are awesome. My dining companions ordered pancakes(huge and fluffy and goddamn amazing) and an omelette with corned beef which was absolutely drool worthy. Add in the fantastic old school vibe of the interior, and well, I have to go back and order differently next time.

I’m going to uncover the truth on this place: **Their food is pretty darn good. And it’s a clean place. However… I just walked in and ordered the single person lox box. It’s a bagel, lox, tomatoes, capers, cucumber, onion, and it’s $ 16. When I called, I asked how much lox that came with, and he told me «about a half of a pound.» I was pretty thrilled about that, because their fish is really good and fresh, so I ordered that. However, when I got there, it was 3 pieces of fish. Not even a quarter of a pound. AND, they charge $ 38 for a pound of lox, $ 19 for a half pound. I told the guy, «I’m from the New York area, and these prices are ridiculous. I grew up on this stuff.» The BEST bagel in New York, which comes with about a half a pound of lox on it, is $ 12, and the bagel is homemade right in front of you. He responded with, «This isn’t New York! Hah.» I then told him that it doesn’t matter, and he said it does because they don’t get the fish locally like NY does. I called him out on his bullshit, citing that salmon is a fresh water fish, and he acknowledged my awareness and basically admitted his fault. This place banks on the fact that most residents here in Lincoln Park either don’t give a shit about forking up the extra $, or they’re too naïve to know what the actual cost of lox is. So don’t order the single person lox box, because they’ll give you 3 measly pieces of fish. If he was honest from the start, I wouldn’t have given this review, but this has been a long time coming for them, and I hope people recognize their highway robbery.

Amazing! Great service, fantastic homemade root beer, and best waffle ever! I loved the old fashioned candy bar and couldn’t stop eating my friends French fries. I would go here again next time I’m in Chicago.

LOVELOVELOVE. Came here for Sunday brunch around 11pm– we had to wait about 45 minutes but it was 200% worth it. Once we sat down, service was extremely quick too. Everyone in my group ordered the matzo ball soup and added in egg noodles. The matzo ball was huge and had a lot of seasoning. Then we ordered the macaroni and cheese and a schwartzy. I kid you not when I say that the girl who ordered the schwartzy almost started crying because the sandwich was so good. It came on fresh challah and was massive. Now, my only complaint(besides Pepsi products) is that when we asked the waitress how large the macaroni and cheese was, she said it was just very cheesy but not particularly big. That is a lie(see photo below). We could have got one for the entire table but based off her direction we each ordered one(and brought home the majority). That being said– the dish was absolutely delicious and I would totally order it again, i would just share it(perhaps with an entire football team).

Like a lot of reviews here, Eleven is overpriced. Everything on the menu costs $ 2-$ 3 more per item than the already inflated Lincoln Park prices you’ve come to expect. If you’re here with a lot of people or ordering ala carte, expect an astronomical bill for something as simple as breakfast. Also, like a lot of reviews here, the quality of the food and service varies wildly. Live a block away and after the 3rd experience that disappointed will never come back again. No single glaring crisis but this place is simply not worth the price and inconsistency. For their sake I hope the clueless tourists visiting the zoo keep this place afloat as a half a dozen people in my building can’t stand the place and refuse to patronize it for the same reasons I mention here.

Still very solid diner food that comes in portions as big as any restaurant provides in Chicago. Tried the«Bad Ass Egg Sandwich», which was pretty tasty… but the potatoes served with it were mostly burned and the mint chocolate chip shake was not nearly as good as the shakes at the South Loop location. Food was brought lickety-split to our table for lunch as well. This is very pricey diner food but you definitely will leave with leftovers, very Hash House a Go Go-style.

No idea why anyone in their right mind would rate this anything less than a 5. I fell in love as soon as I walked in. I haven’t been to the South Loop location, but as I understand it, the Lincoln Park diner is much bigger. The ambiance is lovely. You feel like a kid(in all the best ways) when you enter. There is a mini candy shop that greets you, and you immediately feel as if you’ve entered 50s Jewish heaven. We were with a group of 4 so were able to try a number of options. The verdict? The No. 43 sandwich is incredible — and plenty for 2 people to share(which ends up being a pretty cheap meal). And the best malt I’ve. Ever. Had. Can’t wait to go back!

Terribly expensive for what you get. Pastrami dry and not much of it in the sandwich. Brisket also dry and not much of that either. Soup was ok — matzo ball was large and soft –the only thing we had no complaints about. Coffee 3.50 a cup and not that tasty. 90 $ Including tip for 2 soup 3 sandwiches –3 coffee and 1 desert– and we were not full-sorry eleven city we will not return

I had been looking fora good deli in Chicago for a while and I FINALLY found Eleven! The matzo ball soup alone deserves its own review… hands down, best matzo ball soup I have ever had. The matzo ball is soft and it is also huge. Their deli sandwiches are also delicious! The classic rueben is great and i usually get the Turkey rueben. The french fires they serve are to die for. they are wonderfully seasoned with delicious magic. Speaking of magic, the monte cristo sandwich is also pure gold. If you have never had a monte cristo before, the bread is french toast. I have dined in and picked up. If you call ahead, it usually takes around 15 minutes. When dining in, there can be a wait, mainly on weekends.

My fiancé had been here recently with friends and suggested we grab lunch. The décor makes it feel quaint and it’s easy to appreciate the diner feel. The matzo ball soup is simple but flavorful. The menu is a little large for my liking and hard to miss things but there are plenty of options for anyone. I ordered the Reuben and she got the bad ass breakfast sandwich. The Reuben was open faced and good… not the best I’ve had but it did the job. She enjoyed hers although I felt like it needed something, some sort of sauce would have helped a lot. Try the rootbeer. It’s house made!
