Dolan Geiman

My taste in art has never been classified as, well, tasteful. Gimme some Warhol, Dali, Lichtenstein, Shag, throw in some Petty Girls and I am happy. I own and LOVE an original marquee movie poster for an Elvis concert film, for cry yi yi.
However, I know good art when i see it and when I saw Dolan Geiman I was HOOKED.
Over the past few years, I have picked up four of his pieces and plan to obtain more. The elements of color, archetypal pastiche, and retro stylings are just up my alley. His work looks fantastic in small, urbane spaces and most of the pieces don’t even need framing, cha-​ching!
I also appreciate that his items are superaffordable. I like to support local artists and this guy makes it easy. I have even had the pleasure of meeting him a few times at the summer art fair circuit and his Southern drawl and easygoing manner are as delightful as his work.
If you are decorating a small apartment or funky office, definitely give this awesome Chicago artist a once-​over.

This is one of the best artists Chicago has to offer. I first bought a piece of his work at the Uptown Art Fair in Minneapolis and have been hooked ever since. I master with wood and silkscreening he has great color and subject matter. I strongly urge everyone to check this artist out at one of the local fairs or on the web!
