David is a gem. While I usually loathe having a workman in the house, I am always delighted to have an electrical problem so I can have David do the work. I find myself sticking my nose into whatever he’s doing so I can partake of his sparkling wit and intelligence. He’s terrific at what he does… fast, efficient, knowledgeable, on-time, and goes the extra mile. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I had what I thought was a simple electrical job so that I could hang a tv over a fireplace, but it ended up being much more complicated. It took two days and several more hours than expected, but David figured it out, and he did not charge me much more than the initial estimate, despite all the additional time he spent. I plan to call him anytime I need an electrician.

David came and gave us an estimate on work to be completed in our home. The estimate went well and he knew what he was talking about it. However, we never received a written estimate and when I called to check in about it a week later, I never heard back. Very disappointing.

The Mensch with a Wrench* recommended David Cohen to help us with our electrician needs. I called David and asked if he could come by to help us hang a new light fixture in our bathroom, as well as some pendants above our kitchen island(see Hortons Lighting** review for where we purchased both lights). After sending David a picture of both the bathroom and area above the island he gave us instructions on exactly what we’d need to purchase to get the job done. And days later he showed up to get the lights up and burning birght. The bathroom light installation turned out to be an easy project. However, the lights above the island weren’t quite as easy when he discovered the track was no longer working. He provided us with an alternative way to get the pendants up, mentioned he needed to purchase some materials to do so and then came back a week later. Unfortunately, I was on a conference call while he was getting the job done and couldn’t even check out his work before writing him a check and saying ta-ta. However, he did a perfect job and it was exactly what we wanted. I believe I paid him a total of $ 300 for all of his work. I’m actually not sure how much electricians charge these days, but he probably spent about a total of 4 hours at my place so seems about right. — — — — — — — — — — — — — * **
