I would like to give this business 3.5 stars… But I’ll give them four since I really think they are doing good in the world. Pros: They serve fresh food, and curious salads unlike other offerings in the city. When I eat food from Chicken Works and Salad Company I feel light and refreshed for the rest of the day. Cons: I don’t LOVE the seasoning the use on the chicken, it says on the menu that the chicken is marinated over night but if it’s a seawater salty brine they are using it should taste a bit saltier and a bit less bland. The mac and cheese is kind of bland too, not enough salt perhaps and maybe some more real cheddar in the mixture. The chicken Caesar wrap is very tasty, I often order mac n’ cheese for a side, the cucumbers, green beans, corn or cold slaw all above part. I will keep coming back to these guys for tasty lunches.

I wouldn’t say this place is the best chicken hands down like some others would say, but it was really good and flavorful chicken. Not too much fat. It was a clean cut of chicken. The flavors were great and the pita bread was good as well. Overall I would recommend and i will be back soon. For those trying to lose weight, Come here and get your full of protein and salad

I go to this restaurant whenever I’m by Irving park. The food is always fresh. The prices are great. The service is always top notch. The food is also healthy but tastes amazing.

This is the best place to go for chicken wraps in Chicago. Firstly, the wrap is huge and you will be soooo full if you eat both parts. My coworkers get mad at me because I always want a Chicken Works Wrap for lunch. But how could you not especially when the wrap has honey mustard in it, which I request on the side. They also have a good chicken pita which I recommend as well. But what you also have to try is the Sweet Curry Rice w/Vegetables. It’s the best side dish and I could eat a large to myself ! The delivery can be slow on certain days but sometimes you can be waiting if you have called in prior. Overall Chicken Works is a great option if you a tired of greasy food but want something that can be delicious !!!

This salad bar is so good! There are four different greens(spinach, romaine, spring mix, iceberg), tons of good veggie choices, lots of protein options(nuts, chickpeas, seeds, hard boiled egg, shrimp, crab meat, and sometimes chicken), and plenty of unhealthy stuff to make it tasty(cheeses, dressing, croutons, etc.) Not only is the salad great, but the price is reasonable too. I usually get a big salad for about $ 7. This is a great spot for a quick, healthy lunch.

I was here for the first time. We got the half chicken dinner special with Mac and cheese and the quarter dark meat with the curried rice. So the chicken is hand down the best. It’s so tender and the meat just falls of the bone. The service was fast, we got our food without much wait and they are friendly. It’s a great place to get delicious food quick and affordable.

Seriously one of the best places to eat in Chicago! Food that makes you feel good after and not like after eating greasy nasty food. I get the chicken pita every time and soup– you will not be disappointed! All of the soups are fresh, probably the best I have ever eaten in my entire life

Always good, moist chicken, with tasty side dishes. The sandwiches and wraps, while not fancy are filing and tasty. The soups and chili are excellent. The salad bar has ample fixings. The drinks are sodas from a fountain or other varieties from a fridge. Deserts are simple, cookies or baclava. Service is always friendly and the restaurant is clean and casual.

Very good. I really like the chicken wrap here. The chicken is always juicy and moist. I like the bacon and sauce — very yummy. Nice little place, with entrances on Elston and Irving park. The Veggie wrap is also great and rich with three types of cheese. For sides the curry rice is a must have not too spice and lots of great flavour.

This is a consistent go to place for healthy good food!!! I’ve had everything here and have been coming for the past two years. Their wraps are big and flavorful, huge selection for their salad bar, and their grilled chicken is soooo good! Tender, moist, and flavorful. Not sure why it’s taken me so long to rate my favorite neighborhood spot! Give this place a shot, you won’t be disappointed!!!

I have always wanted to stop in here because the name and photos are compelling. I finally made it in and I love the salad bar lay out. Unfortunately the Ranch is bottled and sour tasting, i went with balsamic and that was bottled as well. I tried the sweet curry rice and one Chicken thigh as well. The rice was blah but the chicken was tasty. I should’ve stuck with the chicken and chicken only, but after paying $ 13 for a salad a lil piece of chicken and some rice. .I don’t think I’ll be back again. :/

Fresh clean food. Good prices. Good customer service. I will be back. My first visit was about 30 min. ago. I ordered a #1 which is called Chicken Works. It is a half chicken. It comes pita bread and two sides so I chose the potato salad and green beans. You can choose a couple of sauces to go with your meal too. I chose the pico de gallo. It was mild, which is the way I like it. The menu is nothing fancy but the food is good. The food is mildly seasoned which I am completely a fan of. I am not a fan of a lot of salt and sugar which is a big problem in America today. I like to eat healthy as much as possible and it’s hard when most eating out choices are terrible for your health. Also, I don’t need things to be different all the time. I like to know what I am getting. I am more concerned with how the food is prepared and the cleanliness of the environment and this place is definitely clean. I’d rather spend my money here rather than most of the popular food chains especially since it’s in the same price range. Why spend 7 bucks at McDonald’s when you can get a way better meal here for the same price, better options and better food. The people behind the counter were very nice and professional which you really don’t find at most fast food places. I felt very comfortable here and will be back again soon. So if you are the type of person who is not concerned with your health and you like a lot of sugar and spice because your palet is just destroyed and used to all of junk you eat, then this place is not for you. Stick to McDonald’s and twinkies. But if you like fresh food that is lightly seasoned and better for your health, then this place is perfect! I appreciate this place. Thanks!

Great chicken with very good sides that are not small in size. Huge salad bar. Very fair pricing. Great for take out or a quick sit down bite.

Ehhhhh. I don’t understand the hype with the chicken. I ordered the half chicken works, which came with two sides, and got the spiced beans and sweet curry rice. Chicken: Nothing special, cooked well and was quite tender, but it didn’t make my jaw drop. Spiced beans: Barely tasted any«spice,» was pretty bland. Thankfully I had hot sauce, so I drowned those beans in sauce, ahahaha die beans, diieeee. Um, anyway. Sweet Curry Rice: Shockingly, I liked this. Had a nice, light curry flavor to it. Solid food, wasn’t bad, but I won’t be back for this.

I grew up in the neighborhood and have been going to Chicken Works since they opened. Number 13 with crumbled blue cheese is the right call every time. The price point is fantastic and the food is solid quality for the price. 5 stars.

As I was finishing up my meal, I was torn if I should render three(3) or four(4) stars on this place. After some thoughtful considerations, I couldn’t justify for giving a four(4)-star review when I knew the food, wasn’t at all, memorable. Unfortunately, Unilocal rating wouldn’t work the same as my first Genetics exam I took in college seven(7) years ago; everyone’s grade was so poor that the professor decided to «normalized» the score(I received a C while scoring a 45 on that epic exam). The food I had this evening was a B minus. I was looking forward to trying Chicken Works & Salad Company out because the location wasn’t awfully far from my apartment. When I was on the CTA blue line train, I quickly browsed through the menu and spotted the«veggie wraps» on the menu. Hubby refrains from consuming meat since he tries to adhere to vegetarian diets, even though sometimes he would need to break the restrictions if there’s no vegetarian-friendly item available. Knowing that hubby wouldn’t feel«left out,» I happily proceeded to this place, on the corner of Elston and Irving Park Rd.(with entrances on both sides of the restaurant). Besides the veggie wraps I ordered, I added the quarter white meat entrée and a cup of chicken soup. The order was ready in ten(10) minutes, and everyone who worked there appeared to be friendly. I did a take-out order to bring home since hubby was out working late, but the dining room was well-lit and clean. I would have chosen to dine in in order to enjoy the food while it was fresh, but I probably would come to the same conclusion that the food was mediocre. The«flavor» of the chicken was the real highlight. The chicken didn’t taste bland, yet it was on the drier side. Nevertheless, the texture was tender and the meat came off the bones easily. I liked the chicken soup; the pieces of chicken were delicious. I just wasn’t fond of the excessive amount of bow tie pasta I found in the soup. I might be picky and opinionated on what I wanted in my chicken soup, but I personally would prefer to have an assortment of vegetables than to have any form of carbohydrates. I performed a little«taste test» on hubby’s veggie wraps. They were decent, but I’ve had better veggie wraps elsewhere in the city. I don’t see myself return this place because Nick’s Pit Shop(on Lawrence In Albany Park) seems to be doing a much better job on grilled chicken(plus that yummy green sauce)!

«There’s a restaurant that’s sign is a chicken on fire» That’s how my boyfriend described Chicken Works to me originally. We finally decided to give it a try on a Saturday. The bad? I was on a cleanse that meant I couldn’t eat any of the breads or warm sides. The good? I was still able to enjoy a meal here thanks to the salad bar. Pro tip: Instead of getting the shredded chicken in the salad bar, fix up your salad then ask for a single piece, that way it’s nice and warm for you. We spent under $ 15 between two people, a pretty good deal if you ask me! Now that I am finished with my cleanse, I will have to give their sides a try. Mmm, mashed potatoes!

We stopped by this place on the recommendation of my mother… I thought yeah right this will be another funky, rinky hole in the wall… now I’m not opposed to hole in the wall joints either, just not what I wanted tonight. Boy was I surprised! ! The food– CHICKEN– is sooooooo good. I order a wrap sandwich that was unbelievably good. So fresh. The staff is super courteous and quick! The space is smallish, but comfortable and clean. Highly recommended. …my new go to chicken joint and they deliver! Yea boi!

I believe I may have found some of the best Chicken in the City, Sorry Colonel Sanders and Popeyes but you’re going to have to take a back seat to Chicken Works and Salad Company. This place is located off the corner of Irving Park and Elston Avenue and it did not look to be the largest of storefronts but then I found it actually has 2 entrances one on Irving Park and one on Elston. Upon entering I inhaled the most intoxicating smells of chicken being cooked/grilled and I could’nt wait to see what else this place had in store for me! There is a small interior space for dining on the Elston side but this place does one heck of a take out business. This place was packed with customers and everyone on their staff was getting everyone’s orders out with great timing, and I could tell many of these people had been there before because the staff seemed to know them by name. What this place has to offer is pretty incredible, they have a tremendous salad bar with some of the freshest looking ingredients around, but seriously, you have to order the chicken. No ands, ifs, or buts about it! This Chicken is flame grilled, juicy with the most wonderful flavors, no burnt spots/parts either! And, they have great chicken deals/prices to make it even sweeter! For $ 16.99 I received a whole cut up delicious chicken with pita bread and my choice of 2 large sides. C’MON now, is this a deal or what? And, they have some great side options however I chose 1 that was not so great so I would recommend taking a pass on the mashed potatoes. Shouldda got the baked potato. But the Baked Beans were pretty tasty so I was happy! I am so impressed with this place, and honestly, it makes me feel better to know I am eating this flame grilled chicken as a healthier option to all that deep fried other stuff. Props to me! If you have’nt figured this out yet I like giving Props to myself. Anyway, if you are looking for some great, tasty chicken do yourself a favor and make a visit to Chicken Works and Salad Company. And, the price is right! I just know, I’ll be back, yes, it was that good! This place is a winner for sure.
