If you’re planning on going to The Cell, and you have bad seats, that’s the only time I would recommend the Bullpen. Everything is overpriced, you can’t drink anything besides the limited beverages from the menu(they won’t serve Anti-Hero or anything from the locally owned Revolution Brewery), you can’t scream too loud or they WILL kick you out. My boyfriend was removed in the bottom of the 6th for screaming out an opposing team players name, when the people three tables down were swearing and making rude comments & of course they got to stay. On top of it all, I was questioned if I had paid the bill on my way out. I’m a classy lady, I don’t dine and ditch, even at this dirt pit. The food was served long after it was cooked, cold and unappetizing. Don’t ask for ketchup, you have to go to the bar and get your own. Bring your food too because they don’t provide condiment cups. Our server was a pleasure, she was one more thing I would recommend this place for, but that’s it. You have«security» on every corner which made me a little on edge considering you only place security where it’s needed the most, right? I spent over $ 200 between 2 people and it wasn’t worth the lint in my pocket. Save your money and pregame. & don’t send your comments to the white sox either because they will respond with a sappy letter of «we hope you come back» and give you no compensation for your horrible visit.

There are better places to have a drink. We had heard good stuff about Bullpen Sports Bar but got there and realized it was pretty depressing. No ambiance at all. No real view of the field unless you have a wristband, which we did not have. Servers were apathetic at best. Next time I’ll stay in my seat. Much more fun.

This hidden gem should only be utilized when it’s either over 90 degrees outside or pouring rain otherwise go outside and enjoy the weather. The menu is a little limited but again if it’s not hot or raining get the heck outta there. It’s also a plus that they have plenty of waitresses to take your order. We ordered the nachos which were OK except they were covered with too much salsa. The beers were cold and they were showing other games during the rain delay. Since we have season tickets I am sure we will be back but only in the heat or the rain.

This place is kind of what I expected on my first trip to the South Side for a White Sox game. A thoughtless utilitarian beer hall with zero charm. Lots of local types pounding A-B brews and staring at the waitstaff like they were made of I-talian sassages. The saving grace(the second star) was the opportunity to head outside and sit at one of the several picnic tables where you could watch the right-fielder who(at times) was only a few feet away. Cool concept, poorly executed when some bouncer wannabe keeps reminding everyone that they must remain seated at all times and pass muster just to enter the area. Nice try… I’ll head back to my cheap seats and keep wishing I was at Wrigley instead.

The Miller Lite Bullpen Sports Bar is located at US Cellular Field, Home of the White Sox. You MUST have a game ticket to get in(unlike TBD’s). AND be over 21(this is a bar). The Bullpen Bar offers a full bar selection(beer, wine, spirits) as well as typical ballpark food(dogs, burgers, itailian beef) as well as some bar staples you cant get in the park elsewhere(ribs, wings, fried chicken). The big perk of going to the bullpen bar is the unique viewing options for the game. If you get there early, you can sit behind glass and view the game from the vistor’s bullpen area(hence the name) as they sit infront of the glass wall. No, they cant hear you, so dont bother heckling them. OR, you can get a spot outside and watch the game from the field level right behind the outfield wall(there’s tru-link fencing that allows you to watch). The Sox, do, also have a area with bar tables right in front of the lower reserve seatsing sections for bar patrons, but you have to pay $ 15 per person to sit there(there is, however, no item minimum to sit there after you pay the $ 15). There’s an actual bar in the middle of the area, as well as a beer only stand which doubles as the spot to pay for outside table service. And waitresses take your orders through the bullpen bar, so yes, you need to tip them. Prices on the food/drink are typical of ballparks(overpriced), but you do get to watch the game in a secluded area. And Upper Deck patrons can sit in the bullpen bar without having a lower level ticket. So you got that going for the cheapskates. Overall, a solid spot to watch the game when you dont want to sit in your seats.

This place was able to squeeze one star out of me only because the location is cool. The service is absolutely terrible. I think their attitude is: «Why should we try? We’ve got you here already at the Park!» The waitress seemed to know how to take an order, but when the food came and there were a bunch of mistakes, her eyes just glazed over, she kind of shrugged and she tried to blame the cook. My gosh, it was just hot dogs, Polish sausages and some curly fries! One thing was that she tried to tell us that the hot dogs she brought us were actually Polishes. I mean seriously, who can’t tell the difference, and what kind of server would try to convince you that what she brought you by mistake was the right thing. There were other mistakes, but I won’t waste your time. The food is the EXACT same food you’d buy upstairs from a vendor, except for thee things: they have the audacity to charge you a buck or two more because a waitress plops it on your table, it’s gotten cold waiting for your hack server, and you didn’t get the onions or whatever garnishes you asked for on your dog/burger. If you want a series of disappointments, eat and drink here. If you want to enjoy yourself, eat and drink in your seats or upstairs in the Stadium Club.

I’ve been going to new Comiskey ever since it opened in 1991 and I had never been to this bar until this year. I think I avoided it because we almost always sit on/near the 3rd base line(coincidence, purely) and we always come in the doors on the north side of 35th or on the west side of the park. I never even think to walk all the way to the south side to enter in gate two to go to this bar. However, for opening day this year, we all decided to meet here because it’s convenient and closer than Mitchell’s. I was missing out! I am definitely a fan of the Bullpen Sports Bar, indeed. Even on opening day the bar wasn’t packed. We were able to situate ourselves by the wall opposite the big bar and just hang out. There were TWO X-Box stations for our gaming pleasure but we couldn’t figure out how to play the game so we abandoned it. There are a lot of tables and — duh — a really great view of the away team’s bullpen and the field. It’s a pretty cool spot, especially if you can snag the seats right near the bullpen window. There’s also yummy, yummy food and the prices are decent. A hot dog is $ 5.25 but it comes with chips and cole slaw. The hot dogs in the park are $ 5 and come with nothing! Obviously a better deal. You can also order whole pizzas and other sandwiches. I’ve had the wings, cheese fries and chicken fingers — all good. The beer is cheaper in here than it is in the park, too. You can get a Miller«Bomber»(24oz) for $ 9.25. Sure, it’s expensive, but in the world of ball park beer, that’s the best deal for your money. The beers upstairs are $ 6.25 for 16oz — you’re getting more for less money. Yay giant beers! They also have a nice selection of beers on tap(expensive) and other ball park cocktails(margaritas and vodka lemonade) served in souvenir glasses. I will definitely come here more often, especially considering it’s not really that expensive(not for a ball park, anyway). The food is good, the beer is frosty and tables are everywhere for the taking. Oh, and in the summer it’s enclosed and air conditioned — you can cool off before you go sit in the 90-degree sun for four hours.
