It has a small neighborhood that gets much livelier in the warmer months when the patio opens. This place game highly came highly recommended by a friend whom I visited with this past Sunday for a girlfriends brunch. We opted not to get the buffet brunch although there was a decent sampling of choices. Instead the server allowed me to customize a personal sampling of dishes. I ate the Chilaquiles(delicious), Fish tacos(average), Shrimp Quesadilla(Good)! The ladies around me enjoyed their meals as well. The portions were plentiful, so come with a good appetite. Don’t leave without trying a pitcher of their house margaritas. They were $ 24 and easy enough for 4 glasses.

I’ve only eaten here for breakfast but I’m looking forward to trying their other dishes as the weather warms up and I can sit on their back patio. Everyone I’ve encountered here is as nice as can be. Can’t ask for sweeter people. The banana walnut french toast is to die for! You don’t even really need syrup with the sauce they give you. Even when I have it delivered it’s still the best I’ve ever had. Not to mention this place is very inexpensive. Almost don’t want to share how good this place is in fear it will get too packed for me. Shhhhhh!!!

Was looking for a place that serves Mexican breakfast this past Sunday and saw this place appear in Unilocal search. I saw stellar pics and reviews so I figured it would be a decent choice especially since I was in the area. Walked in and saw a lot of nice art on the purple-ish walls that were for sale. There were lots of different sizes for each design. Was starving so definitely was ready to order. Our server was excellent in letting us know the best way to have things prepared for our meal and we def listened. I went with the skirt steak and eggs which included pretty good breakfast potatoes. The steak(medium rare) was seasoned and cooked to perfection… along with egg whites. I got surprisingly full pretty quick as my meal was delish! Prices here are decent

Not only is this the best breakfast in Chicago, the breakfast burrito from here is up there with best meals of my life. Always fixes a hangover. Can’t wait to try the patio next summer.

Had the brunch buffet — 15 bucks with coffee. There were about 8 different things to choose from. A good plate of food, fast and cheap. Nice servers too.

The food is good. The portions are generous. The margaritas are killer! They make their own mix. The art in the place is beautiful and all for sale. They serve breakfast all day. The restaurant is family owned and the love and care they put into the place is evident.

I went here with my friends to have brunch buffet and the buffet wasn’t that good for $ 15. The only thing good was the pozole but it needed to be a little bit hotter. It was a small quaint restaurant with nice art work on the wall that they sell. The people who work their was really friendly and I had a nice chat with one of the people their. The service and ambiance was alright. I wouldn’t go back here if I was in the neighborhood.

Solid mexican breakfast. Loved the chorizo and eggs so juicy and perfect. I love how they serve tortillas and salsa with pretty much every breakfast dish. I would Def return for more dishes. This place is small and so Def not a fancy spot but food is Def good.

My girlfriend and I came here for a late breakfast to scratch my frequent Mexican food itch. The service was great, the ambience fitting, and the food fantastic. We ordered the cactus empanadas and the huevos nortenos and we were not disappointed. The empanada crust had a perfect flakiness, and the nortenos’ tomatillo sauce had a great kick to it that wasn’t overpowering. Overall a great experience and we can’t wait to come back!

My cousin, friend and I came into Angel’s for the brunch buffet, and it was delicious. The food reminded me of back home, brought back many childhood memories and grandmas cooking! EVERYTHINGWASDELICIOUS. I ate everything; the chilaquiles with an over medium egg, the picadillo, of course gotta hace rice and frijoles with the eggs with salsa. Pedro, and the staff are such amazing people. The energy of the place is very charismatic and feels just like home. Thank you for an amazing space, we had a lot of fun dancing in the patio area.

What a great spot! Off the beaten path in the West Loop, and definitely worth a trip. They do a great breakfast as well as traditional Mexican lunch and dinner.

I often forget about how much I enjoy Angel’s because it is not near me. I can be an «out of sight, out of mind» kind of girl, and Angel’s is never in sight as it is so far from my hood. However, I woke up recently and had a craving for French toast and Angel’s immediately came to mind. French toast? At a Mexican restaurant? Yes, its delicious and I woke up needing it. So I : 1. Officially woke up and completely opened my eyes. 2. Got out of bed. 3. Brushed my teeth. 4. Put on lots of clothes. Its cold. 4. Hauled it to Angels. 5. Ate delicious french toast, chilaquiles., eggs, tortillas, and grilled veggies. 6. Went home and took a nap, quite proud of myself for my brunch accomplishments. It was glorious, and I can’t go so long between visits next time.

This place is the BOMB. It’s the rice, refried beans, saucy Mexican combo plate stuff of dreams! I love that they let you mix and match sauces and Meats with the enchiladas. The mole is my favorite. Actually, they are just super accommodating in general. It’s a family owned business and they really care about their guests. The flautas(taquitos?) are the best I’ve ever had. Goes well with the guac. Tortilla soup is also delicious and my bf loves the breakfast buffet on the weekends. The fresh juices are awesome. Absolutely adore this place, give it a shot!

A friend and I decided to meet here after craving some Mexican food. Angel’s is a really place due to having a spacious patio out in the back, but sadly in the winter time it’s closed, so we had to settle for sitting inside. Lunch time doesn’t seem to be too popular here on Saturdays since my friend and I were only accompanied by two other tables at a time. I have never been to adventurous while trying out a Mexican restaurant– why would I when burritos and tacos are already so satisfying? However, after reading all the Unilocal reviews, I knew going into this restaurant that I had to try the chilaquiles. My friend never deviates from the norm, and he decided we share an order of shrimp molcajete. When the food came out, it was clear that the star of the show was the molcajete. The chilaquiles were fine; they tasted exactly like what they were: scrambled eggs with tortilla chips and salsa. But the molcajete comes as this sizzling, cheesy shrimp and vegetable tomato-ey stew. It is served in this huge stone pot with a side of tortillas. It made me really regret ordering the chilaquiles, but you live and you learn. Margaritas here are pretty tasty and the service was nice, although my friend though that his drinks were a little on the weaker side. Love the food here though!

Just disrespectful to be so good. I find it fascinating I never reviewed this place. Maybe it was selfishness because I don’t want it to get over-crowded.as I usually don’t have to wait to be seated. maybe it’s because I don’t want them to run out of freshly prepared margaritas. maybe because… maybe because I didn’t wanna?! Anywho, this place is DELICIOUS. the Sopa de Tortilla, Shrimp Tacos, Salsa, enchiladas, salads, etc. are pretty tasty AND the portion sizes are quite generous. But be careful with starters as you may be too full by the time your food arrives. The service definitely takes this place to the next level. They were way shorthanded but everyone, regardless if you worked in the kitchen or owned the place, jumped in to help to make sure everyone was taken care of. And weren’t annoyed doing it! Oh how I can’t wait to see them again!

Yes. Just yes. I found out about Angel’s through a Unilocal email which listed the best places for Chilaquiles in town. I wish I had found out about this place ages ago! Loved the food, service, and their outdoor patio seating is super cute and perfect for a sunny Sunday brunch in Chicago. What we ordered(and will order again!): Horchata — Fresh and yummy! Chilaquiles with Chicken — Definitely very very good and in my top 3 of best I ever had. I ordered it with the mild ranchero since I am a baby about spicy. Clearly super fresh ingredients, the tortillas were not soggy at all, and a plentiful helping of the tasty cheese, beans, and lettuce/fresh toms on the side. Def very worth trying/ordering! Chorizo-Rito — This tasted like a perfect Mexican omelet without the ridiculous amount of eggs part. I actually liked this dish better than my Chilaquiles and would highly recommend. Again fresh ingredients, hearty flavors, and just overall very very good. Do note — this is NOT spicy at all! Both dishes were HUGE servings and it’s worth noting that we heated up our leftovers for dinner that night and it was all still AMAZING tasting. Final Verdict: All and all this place is an epic win in my book. I plan to revisit for an amazing Mexican breakfast/brunch experience often!

Say what you will about Danny W(and don’t worry, I’ve probably said worse… I keed, I keed), but homeboy knows how to pick a damn decent brunch spot. For me, they got it all right. The handsome servers — Check! Food that’s actually spicy when they say it’s going going to be — Check! Free chips and salsa — Check! Coffee that keeps a-comin’ — Check! Possibly the most delicious vegetarian breakfast I’ve ever had in my entire life — Check! I just knew this place was going to be outstanding the instant I walked in so I put my faith in Angel’s and didn’t even bother opening the menu. I just asked our sexy server to put me down for whatever he thought their best non-meat dish was and he accepted the challenge with just one question: Do you like spicy? Hell yes I like spicy! El Diablo that sh*t up. The portion was enough that I took over half of it to go(but actually ended up eating it in my car while sitting in traffic on the way home like some kind of gremlin) and the spice level didn’t burn my butt, instead being a much more flavorful heat, but still not something even your everyday Sriracha user would be comfortable with. Basically it was perfecto and I can’t wait to go back. For this brunch pick, Danny earns an extra point in our ongoing game of life. Current score: Danny W– 3 Candice G– Infinity x2 +372

I figured this place was going to be awesome as soon as I saw that the Mexican consulate was a block away. An hour later and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Between the food, service, coffee and cuteness Angels definitely deserves a halo over the top of it. Do the chiliquiles… not only is it delicious with scrambled eggs and tortillas topped with queso anejo but it’s also one of the most fun words to say in any language. There’s also other Mex brek classics and they do fantastic chips and salsa regardless of what time it is. Angel’s may not give you wings because of the food baby the large portions result in, but trust me it’s a pretty heavenly breakfast spot.

«Send me an angel, send me an angel, right now, right now…» Send me to Angel’s, send me to Angel’s right now for the Angel’s Ultimate Eggs scrambled eggs, chorizo, green pepper, onion, mushroom, queso chihuahua and breakfast potatoes. Yum! I don’t make it to the city much now that I’ve moved to the North Shore, but I used to pass by this place and always thought it was adorable. Thankfully a work get together brought me here, and it was a fantastic experience all the way around. First my coffee was delicious and consistently topped off. The service was really terrific. The salsa was spicy and came in a large bowl with homemade chips. Though it was a tad cold in there, since they forgot to turn the space heater on behind us, that didn’t keep me from enjoying my breakfast. Accompanied by a side salad(with the good lettuce) and crispy potatoes(not greasy), my eggs were beyond fluffy, cheesy, loaded with chorizo and veggies. I can taste them right now as I’m writing this and so wishing they were sitting in front of me. Light and not greasy. Though I was full I kept going until I wanted to burst. Worth every bite. Super clean restaurant, even the men’s bathroom. Yes, I went in the men’s. One of the waiters said I could since someone was in the other one. I thought no way in a million years would I step foot in there. But, there was no other option, and you know what? It was really clean! I mean not guy clean either(ha)! All in all a perfect experience all the way around. If I lived in this neighborhood I would stop by on a regular basis. A big shout out to my colleague who selected this stop. Great call!
