Dimitri’s Opa Restaurant

A little expensive but the food was good, rolls were burnt, good but not great the place was very clean, the menu was very big and had something for everyone

Impressive service is a must for a restaurant to be successful, it isn’t all about the food. That being said, the food is really great here too. We had a wake, with about 50 people in attendance, and the staff was on point, they were very capable. The kitchen was outstanding, delivering consistent dishes to the room, each one matching the other. The ability to produce great service, and great food is a dying art, but this Dimitri’s has perfected it.

Was very disappointed. Started out with a great sago and French onion soup and went down hill from there. Gyro meat was dry. Mediterranean chicken was the size of a sparrow breast for 12.00. Very over priced. Will not be back.

Food and service was awesome as usual but displays of management was very unprofessional. The owner/​manager yelled at two employees right in the middle of the diner, where we all could see. It was rude, unnecessary, and uncalled for. I was embarrassed for his employees. I notified our waitress of our disgust of the man’s actions and he didn’t even come to apologize but instead the employee whom was scolded did. I will not be back to give my money to someone who doesn’t have enough respect for his employees pull them aside and handle issues or his guest to dine in peace.

Our waitress rocked! She was courteous, attentive, and apologetic. The wait for our meal took much longer than expected. The restaurant had dishes on tables and waste on the floor even as the front staff walked past it repeatedly. The host and hostess at the door were more involved with each other than greeting and seating. (This continued throughout our meal as other guests entered the restaurant.)
My first visit to Dimitri’s was wonderful. I enjoyed it so much I brought my sister back to share dinner with her. This visit, besides our waitress being amazing, left a lot to be desired.

I’m not much for diners or «family restaurants,» because they always seem to be a Coney Island/Ram’s Horn with a small focus on whatever ethnicity the owner is. It’s typical fair. Burgers, burritos, meat loaf, friend chicken, chicken soup, etc. In other words, a boring mixture of shit your mom used to make growing up. Well, Dimitri’s, I am happy to say, does NOT fall into that category.
Do they server burgers, fries, coney dogs, and the like? Yes, you bet your sweet ass they do. But not only is they quality of those food items far superior than his competition, but they also offer a great variety of Greek cuisine as well. Pastistio, Moussaka, Gyros, and more! And they all taste great. Not good. Not okay. Great. That, my fellow Unilocalers, is a rarity in an establishment such as this.
The owner doesn’t stop at great food. They’ve recently installed a full bar. I’m not a drinker myself, but on occasion I’ll have a glass of red wine with my meal, and it’s nice to know I can do so here. And if you drink, or at least someone in your group of visitors do, then have yourself a Bloody Mary with your breakfast. They can do that now!
You want to have a graduation, wedding rehearsal, or some other kind of party? Well, look no further than Dimitri’s, because they have a party room in the back of the joint. I don’t know the exact number, but I’d bet money it holds at least 75 people. Get yourself a limited menu, the party room, a few drinks and call it a day my dude!
And if you’re one of those people who have to be around an attractive staff, the hostesses were cute, the buss boys were handsome, and all are very friendly. If you haven’t been here yet, this is a place that you need to make it out to.

This is a place I never think of. Had a buy one get one half coupon. Clean and friendly staff. Had the firehouse burger combo with fries and a baby Greek salad. The salad was excellent. Crisp and cold. Burger was decent. The chicken parm was excellent. I will put this place in my rotation.

We’ve been to this restaurant quite a bit. The food is good and service is okay.
Tonight’s dinner was a disappointment for my son when he was told they did not have what he ordered. He had been looking forward to it. He loved this dish and usually ordered it. But this is the first time they ran out of it. They did compensate for not having his meal.

My girlfriend and I used to come here. Some of the food is good some not so good. The reason we stopped going there and the reason for my 2 star review is because the service absolutely sucked! Waiting times for our meals is always ridiculous, it’s difficult to get refills on our drinks because the staff is usually standing behind the staff bar chatting away, I practically had to wave a flag just to get someone’s attention. Yea we don’t visit here anymore, if we’re spending money, they need to appreciate it.

Grading while waiting for a Bacon cheese burger, already at 15 minutes and the place is not even a quarter full. Waiter is not at his best and he doesn’t want to be here.
Got to be the worst French fires ever. And when they put some bulk ketchup in a Heinz reused container you have a hard time eating at all.
Like all of my friends and family say «There off the list»… $ 8.50 for this??? Should have stopped at Wendy’s down the street.

Food is amazing! They have the best chicken lemon rice soup! Everyone there is just so nice and caring and they care about you

This Is Pretty Darn Good For Diner Food! We Have Been Several Times And Never Had A Meal We Didn’t Like. Staff Is Very Nice And Clean New Interior. They Definitely Give You A Lot Of Food For Your money But We Aren’t Wasteful And Take It Home For A Meal Later. So You Really Get Two Meals For The Price Of One! Lemon Rice Soup Is Really Good. We Share A Bowl Every Time!

Not the best experience. Our waitress slammed our plates down when serving us and the food was flavorless. I got a Swiss mushroom burger. It appeared fresh made but the flavor was missing? One person in our party had chicken strips and they were clearly frozen. Kind of pricy for diner food about $ 7.5o for burger. Only one refill on soda — really at 1.99 you can do better! Won’t be back — sorry I really wanted to like this place more as it is a nice location and decorated comfortably.

This Place is Horrible! I went to lunch today with my mother we have been before and it was alright nothing special… but today reached an all time low! I ordered a bowl of chicken lemon rice soup and a Belgian waffle pretty simple right? wrong! Well the rice in the soup was so overdone it was basically dissolving within the soup Gross! and the Belgian waffle was fine except for the fact they served it with cold syrup who does that? My mother had a farmers omelet i think it was called it came out cold and with burnt toast. Well wont be back here again! Overpriced under experienced cooking. I give em a few more weeks.

Like a lot of folks I went here after a long hiatus. I have been there twice in as many weeks. Both times in the morning so I cannot speak to their lunch or dinner menu. The remodel is very nice a big upgrade. We had the same waitress both times and was very nice. Very attentive and quick. The menu is large but a lot of places like this tend to have similar menus so I can’t fault them. The only thing I was kind of so/​so on was their hash browns did not have a lot of flavor. Really that is the only thing. Dining area was clean (except the menu was a little grimy), plates and silverware were clean and price was very reasonable.

This is a family owned business. Went on New Years day for breakfast. Our waitress was very pleasant and the food was great. Very clean establishment.

Just your average diner… Nothing special about it, maybe the prices… I had an omelette that was okay… no wowing going on at this restaurant. It’s the kind of place geezers and blue hairs frequent for their mashed taters, and meatloaf… Nothing against old people… I LOVE OLD PEOPLE! It is what it is… we chose this instead of the coney island it neighbors… I think next time, I’d try the coney… just to see…

I was here just a couple weeks ago after a hiatus of several years. The remodel has this place looking more welcoming, for sure. How’s the food?
First of all, the menu is WAY. TOO. BIG. It’s a novel, and easily the longest menu I have ever seen. Any «real» chef would say the same thing. With that said, I went basic. I chose to get a coney dog with chili cheese fries and lemon rice soup.
The hot dog itself tasted straight out of the super market. Boiled. No snap on the dog at all. The chili wasn’t bad, but seemed to be out of a can. The cheese sauce was likely from a can as well, but it had a surprisingly decent flavor. The lemon rice soup was nearly perfect, though it’s pretty difficult to mess up lemon rice soup, in my opinion. If you like thinner lemon rice, this is the choice for you.
Alright, the décor is tolerable. The food is inexpensive. That’s all fine and good. It’s just that the food isn’t that great, and the portions are HUGE. I suppose that’s fine for the average American, but I felt bad when I had to have them toss out about half of my fries because they put so friggen many on my plate. Don’t bother coming here if you’re on a diet.
³⁄₅. I wouldn’t be opposed to come here, but it’s certainly not first on my list.

Was there for brunch. Great selection on the menu, good prices, roomy booths, nice layout, attentive staff.

The have recently reopened with a completely remodeled interior. It looks much better then it use to. The menu is the same, typical family diner fare: home style comfort food, Italian, Greek, Coney, burgers, sandwiches, soups. good food and a good value. Their rolls are great! Also, the have the lemon potato wedges with some of their dinners,
gyros: they have the thicker cut meat and plenty of it. the taziki sauce is pretty basic, kind of meh.
fries: very crispy, I think they use the batter technique
