Fantastic Wedding. We had our Polish style wedding at the Polish Villa II. My wife is directly from Poland and brought some family with her for the wedding. Even they were impressed! The pierogi were some of the best we have ever had, even counting places in Poland. The service was impeccable, the restaurant was gorgeous. It was the best day of my life and the Polish Villa II was a big reason why. I cannot recommend them enough for weddings and banquets. You simply will not find better food for a wedding then here.

Went for the polish buffet on Father’s Day and I wasn’t really that impressed. It’s my fault for assuming they would serve pierogi and stuffed cabbage. Nope, oh well. Had to ask three different people for drink refills and they ran out of cheesecake(actually, another person grabbed the last three pieces with his hands in front of my dad who was standing there with the tongs.

Horrible experience. Made reservation and didn’t get seated until 45 minutes after reservation time. Kids menu stated cheese noodles made with fresh kluski noodles and homemade cheese sauce. Unless Kraft now uses kluski noodles that is a lie. Fish fry was mushy and baked. Sprite was flat. Please don’t make me continue. One of my worst restaurant experiences EVER, will never go back.

A wonderful choice for homemade Polish cuisine. I’ve been here several times but last Sunday I decided to just order the potato pancakes. I think these are the best I have tried. I think they are better than Scharf’s. Crispy on the outside, but rich and moist on the inside. Also, a good option for Sunday brunch. There is a large, attractive in a homey kind of way, and I think underutilized bar area. It has an old European rustic look, which goes nicely with the theme of the restaurant. But they rarely have much of a bar crowd when I have been there. I would love to stay around for drinks if the bar was a little more lively.

Always a yummy, classically polish and delicious meal! Way better food than their counterpart, Polish Villa Part I, and they serve alcohol. Nice bar and decent ambiance, great beer and wine selection. If you like pierogies, try the mushroom ones — yum!

Coming here brings back so many memories from my childhood. When we would come in to Buffalo to visit, Polish Villa II is often where we would go. I always loved the old-world feel of the restaurant, and even better was the food. I haven’t been here in maybe 2 – 3 years, and so when Lindsay A. suggested we have Polish food for New Year’s Eve, I was all about it! It seems as though nothing has changed inside. The artwork depicting traditional village life in Poland is the same. There is a definite feeling of being transported somewhere else. In Polish«Czujesz jakbyś się cofneła w czasie.» The food was wonderful as always, and it wasn’t too crowded. We came at sort of an off rush hour… and that always helps. There was a specific New Year’s Eve menu that we ordered from and I took the opportunity to try something new this NYE. We started with our soup and salad. I had the Barszcz. It was not what I had anticipated actually. It wasn’t a brothy soup, it was thicker, with a dollop of sour cream, and many pieces of beets. It was chock-full of beets actually, and I loved it! Next were our appetizers. Stuffed mushrooms and Herring(śledź). I’d never had either here before, and I’d never had the herring anywhere. The mushrooms were tasty. The herring, I think, is an acquired taste. It comes cold in a cream sauce with something(not sure if it was onion/garlic/fennel…not sure). On first bite, I enjoyed it, the cream sauce, then comes the herring — a fishy flavor that I liked… but at the same time I don’t know if I liked the texture. At the end of my bite, I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not. You’ll have to be brave, try it yourself, and be the judge. The jury is still out over here. My main entrée was the golabki and pierogi platter. I suppose I was in the mood for kapusta, as I had the cabbage roll, cabbage(sauerkraut) pierogi, and sweet and sour cabbage alongside my potato pancake. All of it was wonderful. The golabki are heavier on the meat that I am traditionally used to, but still excellent in flavor. The pierogi were plump and perfectly browned on the outside. The potato pancake was delicious. Next time I think I’ll ask for applesauce or sour cream instead of the horseradish. There was of course, no room for dessert. I took a lot of food home and had a Polish breakfast the following morning. I suppose it was a great way to start 2015! It’s probably a good thing that I live in Rochester, because I might be tempted to eat here far too often. While there, I looked longingly at the bar — thinking this would be a good place to hang out and have a drink… One word of warning — they cater, and I believe host parties. So sometimes they maybe be closed. They had a sign up on this visit that they’d be closed on Sunday at a certain hour for a party. It may be prudent to call ahead just in case.

It’s time that I finally wrote a review of this place. I’ve been here four times now– two for dinner and another two for their brunch. This place has the best brunch! The two times I’ve gotten brunch here, I’ve stuffed myself to the gills with delicious polish food. The potato pancakes are fantastic, the homemade sausages are to die for and oh my– the cucumber salad is just the best! Now, I say this all with the caveat that polish food isn’t the most flavorful food — say, compared to Thai or Indian — but whatever PV2 makes, they make well. If you decide to go for brunch, don’t miss out on their sauerkraut/meat dish(I don’t even know what it’s called), their scrambled egg/spatzle-y dish or their donut-y dessert. See — I told you I didn’t know what these were called! Anyway, definitely a place to try out if you haven’t already. Yum!

What an awesome place for an awesome meal at an awesome price! Started off with some cheese perogies, wild mushroom perogies and the potato pancakes as an appetizer. This was the size of a meal in itself. The wild mushroom perogie was unbelievable. Found out that the mushrooms contained a mixture with goat cheese! Absolutely delicious. Next came the fresh salad with the homemade house dressing. Everything in the salad was crisp and ice cold and served with warm rye homemade bread. I ordered the Polish platter which consisted of a huge golombki, fresh and smoked Polish sausage, more perogies and sweet and sour cabbage. Everything on that plate was amazing. My guest ordered the Yager Schnitzel with red cabbage with apples, potato dumplings with homemade gravy. My guest, who was part German, said it was as good as grandma’s! I only wish we had room for the fresh homemade pies the waitress offered at the end of this huge meal. The wait staff was quick to respond to any request we had. All in all a great dinner for a very reasonable price! Can’t wait to try the fish fry this Friday!

Aston Villa is a popular soccer team in England… but I’d rather have Polish Villa any day of the week. You may think«polish villa» is something on a beachtown housecleaner’s to-do list. You’d be wrong. Polish Villa and heaven are synonymous in the Cheektowaga-Sloane-Depew communities, and I am lucky enough to know some Polish folks who once lived on the East Side who told me I should come here, and man, they were not wrong. I thought Peter K’s was good Polish food, and indeed it is, but that was before I had been blessed by the deliciousness of what is known as the Polish Villa. This is the second, and slightly fancier and roomier version of the two, and the food is ever so slightly different here, but still absolutely amazing. Between the two, I probably *slightly* prefer Polish Villa I even though I have great memories of a great concert I played at Polish Villa II… so for that reason alone, I’m including Polish Villa I on my «best places in WNY to eat» and«best Polish» and all that stuff… but believe me, if Polish Villa I wasn’t around, this place would be just as high on all of those lofty lists. I started by trying their Pierogues(very greasy, very delicious, very sinfully fantastic with fried onions all over them, and I’m not even a fan of these things usually — get the cheese ones. I have since realized that the Pierogies on offer at Peter K’s and some of the ones in Cleveland and Pittsburgh are better, but these are still delicious. Then I progressed to their Polish Sausage sandwich, which is one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. I They give you the choice between Smoked Sausage or Regular, and you should ask for a combination of both so that you can try both, but I think smoked is better. The price is reasonable and the portion is very generous — you’ll have so much sausage and saurkraut you’ll think you woke up in Warsaw. Ask for butter on the sandwich for an extra treat. Then I came here over Christmas for a sit down meal. It was very romantic and quaint in a completely non-pretentious way(Buffalo is not very pretentious anyway, it’s hard to be pretentious when half of your city is abandoned factories and all of your city is submerged under 3 feet of dirty snow). The servers were extremely friendly and adorable, and it didn’t hurt that they knew my friend that I went with quite well from childhood. So I tried the Polish Combo Platter, or the Sampler, whatever it is called it is phenomenal! It comes with a potato pancake, sausages, klushka(don’t know how to spell it) and about three other things, and every single thing it comes with is absolutely amazing! I can’t even begin to tell you which things I liked the most because it was all so good… so good in fact that I will be going back there in the next week or two — mark my words. My new favourite dish is the«Steak Tips Over Kluski Noodles» or the«Roast Beef Over Kluski Noodles» — so effing good. Divine. Polish food is better than German food. There. I said it. Germany may have the bigger history, the better roads, cars, and the better football team, but Poland has the food. German food is good… Polish food is amazing. And Polish Villa is among the best Polish food I have ever had.

see now this is a place that seems like they are kicking it old school… but in a great way. Not the outdated mess mentioned in a previous post I had about a different restaurant. They really capture that old polish grandma’s cooking in practically every bite. my husband and I went for restaurant week and will definitely return. The Borscht was amazing. my hubby said in his top 10 soups he’s ever had. The mushroom app. was also good. I had the whole roasted chicken. Even though WHOLE is in the description… I was still shocked when I saw it presented. very tender and delicious. It was stuffed what I’m sure was a homemade stuffing which I am a huge fan of. My sides of green beans were nothing special but that’s alright. The hubby got the warsaw cutlet. He absolutely loved it. Everything about it was cooked to perfection. The service was the only thing lacking… she was very nice, just not the most present. We plan to go back and try their sunday brunch for only $ 11.50 :)

ULTIMATE. Beyond amazing food. Mostly original polish traditional fare. Nothing and I mean nothing compares to the potato pancakes, pierogi, and golobki. The fish fry Fridays are insane. The environment is a combo: traditional, upscale, and neighborhood grille. The is the worlds best comfort food. And after dinner they party hard! Super cheap drink specials. U have no idea how bombastic this shit is.

The last two times we went to Polish Villa it was horrible. The service, the food, all of it — see my reviews, I am sure I said something. My other half is Polish — ALL polish — so he loves polish food. Me, I’m a California girl, I like salads. But I told him that we could go to the Villa II after church for the brunch. We went with his brother and wife and three kids between us. The food was good, I am not a connoisseur of this food, but it seemed really good. The«ski’s» at the table said it was great, so I am going with them. It was a little disappointing that they didn’t have a menu we could order off of because on of the kids is REALLY picky so when she said she wouldn’t eat, it started a chorus of «I Hate French Toast too!» It was reasonable. The two kids 4 and under were free, which was nice and the brunch was only $ 11/person. But they did get you with the drinks. Normally you would assume that brunch includes coffee and/or tea, but no, that was an extra $ 2.25, and I only got one re-fill. I pay less for more at Starbucks. All in all I would go back for a Sunday Brunch again.

There’s nothing like feeling like you’re eating a delicious home cooked meal and that’s exactly what the Polish Villa Part II provides. I came here with my lovely fiancé this past Friday for a bite and we loved it. The restaurant has an old Eastern European feel to it, but with some elegance that comes from the beautiful framed photos on the wall. The music is, well Polish… and sometimes it feels like they have the same two songs on loop the whole time, which is a bit humorous if not a little annoying. We were seated immediately and service was very quick. I ordered the Golabki & Pierogi platter, while she ordered just the Pierogi platter. Both options came with a soup and I opted for the Borscht, while she got their Stuffed Pepper soup. For the pierogies, we asked for one of each: mushrooms(50 cents extra), onions, cabbage and goat cheese. For our side, she got the mashed potatoes while I asked for the potato pancake. The food tasted like my mom’s cooking, oh so good! And the prices were very reasonable and on point. The mushroom pierogis were definitely the tastiest(I can see why they charge an extra 50 cents for them). My borscht was super good as well. My family is Russian so they cook it often and it was definitely a less beet-intensive variety, but the broth ended up being very tasty, so kudos! It just wasn’t as red as usual. Tasted more like Shchi than Borscht, but very good regardless. Also, the stuffed pepper soup I stole from my SO’s plate was quite flavorful! Bravo. Our bill came to be about $ 32 or so and we even had left overs. My only gripe is they charged us to bring sour cream for the pierogis without telling us sour cream costs extra. It was only like $ 1.50 and this place is awesome and I love to support a business like this, so it’s no big deal if you want to charge for sour cream, but my suggestion is to just include it in the price of the meal or at least tell guests it’s going to cost them extra before slapping it on their bill! I don’t like that. That’s why I gave em four stars instead of five. Regardless, I’d come back. They also have a lot of American-style food on their menu and the day we came in they had a Surf&Turf special with a prime rib, 5 shrimp, scallops AND trout for $ 19.95. Sounded really delicious, but if I come here I’m going for the traditional Polish cuisine! It’s all the way out in Cheektowaga which is far away from where we live in West Buffalo, but it makes sense for them to be out there with its huge Polish population and all. Did I mention the owners who run this place are two lovely people?

Finally got to the Polish Villa after driving by many times. Knew from checking out their website that they basically make all the food my Ukrainian Grandma used to when I was growing up(Golabki, Pierogi, Borscht, or Barszcz as I guess Poles spell it) So definitely was looking forward to checking it out. Overall, good food trumped bad service, as this would easily have been a four star review if our waitress was better. We walked in and got seated right away. Place is big open area with a rustic feel. Got drinks. Ice tea for wife and kids, beer for me(Southern Tier on tap was only $ 3, BONUS). For food I always start off with some soups when dining out with kids, as it keeps them quiet with food right away. Was going to order the Borscht but saw a Polish Soup Czarnina, which is traditional Polish duck soup filled with prunes, raisins, and kluski(noodles). Sounded interesting enough so gave it a try. Wife and I decided to split the Polish Villa Platter which comes with one golabki, two pierogi, and two links of kielbasa, then also served with served with soup or salad, potato, vegetable and rye bread with butter. For soup we got the Barszcz so we could try it, Vegetable we got some Kraut and a Potato pancake for the potato choice. For the kids we got the Kielbasa sandwich and Piergogi plates off the kids menu for them to split, which came with some applesauce. Got an extra order of 2 potato pancakes as I figured kids would have some too. Food was all good, none really stood up to Grandma as Golabki and Barszcz seemed a bit oversalted. The Czarnina soup was amazing though. Very dark thick broth like a stew, but with a bit of sweet flavor from raisins and prunes. Kraut was also awesome with smoky flavor from Kielbasa. For pierogi we tried the cheese and the potato versions and both were great. Potato pancake met expectations. Kids loved the Kielbasa sandwich. Problem with waitress was 3 things 1) Never came back during our meal to ask how is everything. 2) Never got the extra 2 potato pancakes I ordered. 3) Was being charged for kids drinks, which clearly states they come with their meal on the menu. With only 4 other tables filled and another waitress and hostess on duty its not like she was busy, no reason for this forgetfulness. The pancakes were not on the bill and we got drinks cleared off quickly. Overall a good experience a bit soured by our waitress. I’d come back but hope I get someone else.

I had been to this place YEARS(!!!) ago when I was married(yeah… THAT long ago). My husband and I liked it alot, but post-divorce I just kind of «forgot» to go back. Well, Thursday night I was reacquainted with this gem of a restaurant as part of a group dining experience. There were about 20 of us seated at two tables. We got to meet the(adorable) chef/owner and were treated to some lovely appetizers before ordering our meals: Mushroom Caps stuffed with crab, bacon, onions, and cheese, Shvinky Fingers(breaded pork tenderloin strips fried lightly & served with hot honey mustard and homemade plum sauce), and Galareta(slow cooked pork, veal and vegetables in aspic served with vinegar or horseradish). Now, in all fairness I must let you know that I didn’t try any of them. Just not my kind of things… but my table– mates LOVED all of them. Not a speck of food was left on those(huge!) platters. For my dinner I chose the«Golabki & Pierogi Platter». Now be for-warned. This PLATTER(caps intended!) is not for the fainthearted or the small appetited. It’s A LOT of food. LOTS and LOTS of SUPERYUMMYFOOD! It comes with a choice of soup or salad, homemade rye bread, choice of potato, choice of vegetable, one(GIANT) Golabki, and two Pierogi. All for twelve bucks! How the heck do they do that? Well, being super cool folks, a friend and I decided to each order one soup and one salad as starters and share.(SOOOOOCOOL are we!) I had the Cucumber Salad(farm fresh cucumbers tossed with sour cream, onion, and fresh dill) and he had the Barszcz(traditional beet soup garnished with sour cream). The salad was super fresh and delicious, but I felt it could use a teeny-tiny little more onion. The Barszcz surprised me at first because it was hot(I’ve always had that as a cold soup) and the beets were in large chunks instead of having been grated as I’m(once again) used to. It was delicious though. When my entrée arrived I couldn’t believe that all that food was for me! I chose the sweet and sour cabbage for my vegetable and it was PERFECT. And my potato pancake(yup… one of those is a choice) was probably the BEST I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly crisp, thin, but not too thin, and not too greasy. For my pierogi I chose one each of potato and(farmers) cheese and they too were AMAZING! Perfectly sauteed to remain tender and tasting like they were stuffed with a fair amount of love. I would go back just for those. SERIOUSLY! My golabki was tasty as well… and was bigger than a softball. For those of you wondering how much of ALLTHATFOOD I actually consumed, here goes: My half each of salad and soup, one piece of rye bead(with butter), all of my cabbage, ½ of my potato pancake, 1⁄3 of each of my pierogis, and a bite of my golbki. Oh yeah, and a bite each of my table-mate’s strawberry crêpe and AMAZING Black Forest cheesecake. Thanks guys! I owe you(wink). The rest of my food was HAPPILY consumed by my fifteen year old son the following night for dinner.

I’m no Polish food connoisseur and I don’t have a bit of Polish in my ancestral makeup but I can appreciate delicious food and Polish Villa II offers just that! It’s not unusual when you live in Buffalo to have Polish friends. It’s also not unusual to sample the goods at the Broadway Market every Easter. But still the food at Polish Villa II was just as good if not better than any other Polish fare I’ve ever tried. The Unilocal International Supper Club brought about 20 people to the otherwise dead restaurant on a Thursday evening at peak dinner time. Literally one other table was occupied by a couple. Two, maybe 3 other people were sprinkled at the bar. But overall, the Unilocal group dominated the place. We were treated to a tasting of a few different appetizers from Chef and Owner, Eddie. The stuffed mushrooms were outstanding! The mushroom caps were huge and meaty and the stuffing seemed to include peppers, crab meat(though it was imitation), and beautifully smoky bacon. I could have eaten just the mushrooms all night and I would have been happy with life! We also tasted the schvinky fingers, crunchy breaded pork tenderloin strips served with plum sauce and a sharp mustard. They were okay. Lastly we were treated to a pork and veal aspic. I didn’t see this item on the menu, but apparently it’s something that is asked for often and is making a comeback. «Aspic is a dish in which ingredients are set into a gelatin made from a meat stock or consommé.” — according to Wikipedia. I nearly forgot about this tasting since it was not good at all. The whole meat flavored gelatin thing is not my cup o’ tea and I would NEVER eat this again, but I didn’t know when else I would ever try it, so I dug in, with regret. Ha! I ordered the Polish Platter, like many others and thought it was EXCELLENT. I LOVE stuffed cabbage and this was no exception. The kielbasa was tasty– the fresh being my preference over the smoked. The pierogi were awesome too. Potato was my fave. I don’t like the sweet farmer’s cheese that I think is sweetened with prunes. Blech. I also don’t love sauerkraut, and the mushroom pierogi was good but sharp. Tasted more like it was made with blue cheese than goat cheese. The potato pancakes were good overall. The star of the show for me though was the stuffed mushrooms. And I sampled my friend’s Crimson Beet Salad and that was also BOMB! I would order that anytime. It was so fresh and just a wonderful combo of flavors and textures. The company of the Unilocal International Supper Club was great, the location of the dinner was great, and the food was for certain the star of the show. If you love Polish food, this is the place for you! I should also add that I only ate maybe half of my meal. When I boxed up my leftovers there had to be a good 2 pounds of food in the box. The portions are huge and hearty. And they made for delicious breakfast this morning.

There’s 2 categories of people who should visit Polish Villa II: 1. Polish people who miss Wigilia and Święconka food throughout the rest of the year, and 2. Everyone else alive Chef Eddie & the gang are using decades old recipes that are tried and true and sure to warm you up on a cold night. Everything is made in house, from the pierogi to the smoked and fresh kielbasa(with the perfect amount of majeranek) to the desserts(nutella raspberry crepes? I have never been so disappointed that a meal had filled me to the brim before dessert!). This particular evening I was treated to an array of Polish delights. First — the stuffed mushrooms. Warning: these are so rich you won’t even feel like you paid for them. Then one of the newest(but still hit close to home) menu items, the schvinky fingers — tender pieces of pork coated in panko and served with plum sauce(not an Asian plum sauce, just plum) and a thick honey mustard. Then… the pierogi. I can’t say enough about pierogi, it is the world’s most perfect food. We tried all 4 varieties: potato, kraut, wild mushroom(with goat cheese!), and of course, farmer’s cheese. All delicious, all cooked just how babcia does it. The farmer’s cheese was a little sweet for me — but my mother and sister put sugar on theirs, so I’m guessing you won’t mind. Then the potato pancakes. How many times am I allowed to say delicious in one review? And I have to again mention the smoked kiełbasa… seriously. I did not try a gołąbek myself, but everyone around me was enjoying them and I found very little remnants of them on their plates! So my suggestion after this long winded review — come with a group, and order one of everything Polish. You won’t regret it! My next trip to the Villa II will be for Sunday brunch. It’s $ 9.95 and includes pastries, fresh fruits, salads, sausages, eggs, ham, chicken… biscuits… crepes, french toast, potato pancakes… yeah, I’m there. PS — this place should cost more than it does. Seriously– 2 sausages, 2 pierogi, a gołąbek, kraut, potato pancakes, soup or salad, and fresh baked seedless rye bread for $ 15? Unreal!
