When I moved to Charlottesville, this was one of the first places recommended to me. When I walked into the location on Preston, I fell in love with the casual(and old-fashion-ish) feel. I think it would be hard to find something not to love about this place. It is a great option for a super cheap breakfast or lunch, and the quality is unbeatable. Homemade(and fresh made) bagels are much more of an essential food group in my diet now than I would have ever expected, all because of Bodos. Even on my random gluten-free kicks, I still cannot deny myself some Bodos. My favorite is a simple breakfast sandwich of egg, ham and cheese on an everything bagel, but if you want to be more adventurous, there are tons of bagel sandwich or cream cheese options for you. If I’m feeling adventurous myself, I tend to try something different each time I go, and I’ve never been disappointed. Even their salads are delicious! Oh, and I can’t forget about the potato salad– just try it. This is a must-go-to place in Charlottesville, so get yourself there for some breakfast or lunch if you haven’t been!

I loved Bodo’s(well actually, I didn’t like Bodo’s at first because I never ordered the right thing) before I became vegan, so I was really sad I couldn’t eat it anymore(because cream cheese), BUT they have plenty of meat-free sandwiches, which I never noticed before. I got the NoBull, which is a «locally made lentil-based veggie patty,» on a plain bagel(I’m boring, I know) and it was pretty good. I think it would have been even better with a spread, which I’ll definitely add next time. So glad I don’t have to give up this Charlottesville favorite. P. S. Came here on a random Sunday morning in the summer and it was still super crowded. I had to park in the hotel parking lot next door-luckily we finished our brunch pretty quickly and I didn’t get towed.

Has there ever been a day where Bodo’s hasn’t fulfilled my every desire? No. Will that day ever come? No. Everything here tastes amazing. The bagels are 100%, and the staff know exactly what they’re doing. Their food comes out quickly, service is friendly, and they never get your order wrong. There have been weeks where I ate Bodo’s at least once a day. Still not sick of it, and have concluded that I never will. Pluses: — Their BAGELSAREHEAVENLY — So is their cream cheese — Their produce is always fresh, and they have sprouts!!! — Also super cost friendly. When you’re a broke college student, Bodo’s is a godsend Minuses: — It can get crazy when there is a long line, but I think they manage it well for the amount of orders they are fulfilling

It’s got it all. Bagels that are crunchy on the outside fluffy on the inside. Limited menu. Crazy fast service. Only let down was no iced coffee on a crazy warm day.

Just visited Charlottesville for graduation weekend, and I don’t feel guilty at all saying that I hit up Bodo’s twice. Super affordable, speedy, and a little intimidating to the untrained customer! Both times I was in the store, it was cram packed. Parking is hard, but it’s a minimal price to pay for such cheap high quality bagels. My sister is from NYC, so she’s a bit of a bagel elitist… Bodo’s Bagels met her standards.

Bodo’s has the most bomb bagels in Cville. They have a few locations in the area, and they continue to please with their fast preparation, friendly customer service, and fresh bagel goodness. Whether your looking for a quick breakfast bagel to fuel your day, a meat-stacked lunch bagel to get you over the hump, or a cream cheese smothered everything bagel to combat your hangover, Bodo’s has you covered!

When people said this was a great place, I didn’t believe until I became a regular customer myself. Reminds me of Long Island, NY diner and bagel style. Delicious and fast! Their system works well, even with long lines I don’t wait longer than 5 – 7 minutes to order and pick up my order. Than again, I’ve never waited in their line when it’s out the door. Other than that, it has what I want and I receive it with great taste and quick service.

I love Bodo’s bagels! Every time I come to Cville I always have to stop at Bodo’s for a delicious everything bagel & herb cream cheese! Sometimes I’ll get egg, sometimes salmon/lox, it doesn’t matter it’s all delicious! Top it off with pesto spread, sprouts, tomato, and now you’ve got a yummy hangover cure or just a great breakfast on the go. The cream cheese choices are plenty, and the service is friendly. Come here! There’s a reason why the line is out the door :-)

I love every one of these locations-the food is incredible and the prices are insanely cheap, coupled with crazy fast service for the volume of business they receive. If you are ever in the Charlottesville area you are doing yourself a huge disservice if you don’t visit here. I got two sandwiches, my companion got two and I also picked up a dozen of bagels and two beverages– all for under $ 25. This place is amazing. The turkey and avocado sandwich was loaded and the egg was cooked perfectly. The whole wheat everything bagels have a tremendous amount of flavor. I will definitely be back every time I am in the area!

After living in Charlottesville for a year, I FINALLY decided to try out Bodo’s Bagels. Always seen good reviews, and driving by I’ve seen the line go outside the door and around the building. I had never heard of NY style water bagels(or whatever it’s called), but it’s boiled, then baked. I got the plain bagel(wasn’t adventurous today), with egg salad, and was actually really good. The bagel was crispy outside and soft inside(i love crispy outsides), and the egg salad was tasty as well. My husband got a plain bagel turkey sandwich w/the fixings and said it was just a normal sandwich, but the bagel as the bread was what made it great. Definitely want to come back just to get a bakers dozen of different bagels(would’ve bought it that day, but the line got so long after we ate our sandwiches we weren’t about to wait in line again).

Bodos bagels are much better than anything I’ve ever had in New York. I don’t visit charlottesville without going to bodos. Their bagels are chewy and a bit crisp on the outside and just so fresh. The spreads that are my favorite: jalapeño and lox. I don’t even like cream cheese but these two spreads are the exception. My go to lunch sandwich: pastrami everything bagel with lettuce, sprouts, tomatoes, Swiss cheese and onions. I’m not quite sure what the difference between bodo’s pastrami and other pastrami but it’s freaking delicious! I prefer the chicken salad sandwich over the tuna and would highly recommend the Cleo salad. I’ve had the deli egg sandwich as well but would still recommend the pastrami sandwich I described above.

Best bagels ever! Bodo’s has been a staple since undergrad and I’m glad to see its still poppin. The bagels are soft and not too dense. They’re also generous with the cream cheese. I really love their bagel sandwiches. The chicken salad was my go to but now there are so many good choices. You just can’t go wrong with whatever you choose!

This place is a quintessential Charlottesville landmark, or should I say, food-mark? It’s a no frills bagel place that offers a wide arrangement of bagels, sides, sandwiches, salads, and a few choice soups. The menu is one of the most affordable(and tasty) in town. A few favorite items would include the Everything bagel with the Deli Egg which has a tasty meaty center encased in steaming hot eggs. The Cobb side is another favorite for BB’s sweet zesty use of corn and herbs. If you’re seriously into cream cheese like I am, you’ll also appreciate the delicious combination of cream cheese styles ranging from Jalapeño lime to sweet pecan. Bodo’s definitely has my vote!

Excellent bagels. After so many locals raved about this regional specialty, we had to try them and were not disappointed. I didn’t really love the jalapeño cream cheese(wasn’t expecting it to be sweet), but, the classic Poppy Seed bagel with cream cheese and lox was delish! They don’t even toast their bagels(don’t need to). They are just served hot and fresh and already have a nice crusty edge with soft inside. When in VA and craving a NY-style bagel, this is the place to go! Brought home a couple dozen to share with coworkers and made a few friends.

Got two bagels with flavored cream cheese for less than five bucks. Nice. The bagels were very dense, chewy, and just barely crispy on the edges — Very nice. The cream cheese was laid on thick and was very intense(especially the herb flavor, where I could see multiple chopped herbs in the mix). Very very nice! The fact that it took me ~8 mins for the whole process — icing on the cake(I know, wrong baked good). To be fair, went during off hours, on the weekends it’s a madhouse. Bodo’s delivers every time. It’s a must-go for me every time I’m in Charlottesville. Head there too!

I had a excellent everything bagel. This was my first visit to Bodo’s and I was a little nervous about the wait because the line was out the door. They really have their system down. It was less with 5 minutes with over 20 orders in front of me. While my bagel was delicious next time I will definitely be a little more adventurous. My friends all got amazing breakfast sandwiches which I regretted not getting after tasting theirs. #foodenvy

The line was out the door but we got our food in less than 15 minutes. It’s the best quick, iconic, cheap and light but substantial lunch in cville. Perfect for winery lunches people !

Excellent bagels at prices so low you wonder how the place stays in business… until you see the long lines at all hours of the day. Bodo’s is a Charlottesville institution at this point, as you can tell from all the glowing reviews. The bagels and cream cheese here are top-notch — I highly recommend the egg bagel sandwiches if you need energy before a hike or seek a hangover cure. The prices here are also extremely reasonable — in our last visit, a bacon/egg and ham/egg bagel sandwich with two iced teas cost less than $ 10. And despite the mid-morning line out the door(I mean that literally), we got served in less than ten minutes. Ultimately, if you’re a student on a budget or a huge fan of bagels, this will be your heaven on Earth.
