The waitress couldn’t speak English, was rude and tried to make us give maximum tips on our credit card, pointed at how much we should tip them on the receipt, the food was ok but the service was not good don’t want to eat there again

I live in SoCal and nothing beats the quality and price of Viet food from there here in America. That said, Phở 98 is for sure one of the best phở/viet food places in NoVa. I’ve had the phở, grilled pork/crispy spring roll vermicelli, and summer rolls and all have been on point. The pricing here is about typical to other Viet food places in VA. This place still looks new and the bathrooms are clean. The employees and owner here are all pretty nice. Haven’t had bad service yet. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying other things on the menu or just come here when I’m craving a good bowl of phở!

It’s reliably solid phở and they open at 9am so you don’t have to wait long in the morning if you’re jonesin’ ‘phở’ a fix. After several visits the broth leans towards being clear and light, but it’s still reliably flavorful. The spring rolls’ filling have a somewhat mealy, pasty texture not quite to my liking. Ask for the satay sauce if you want to spice things up a bit beyond the usual Sriracha. Anyway I’ll be coming back ‘phở’ mo’.

WEWILLNEVERGOBACK! This was one of our favorite Phở place until we noticed that they reuse the vegetables!!! Just GROSS!!! We saw them cleaning a table and they dumped the soups and trash in the top bin which is obvious that’s the trash but they took the vegetables and place it at the bottom of the cart separately! Why in the world would they need to do that and not just dump it like everything else!!! It’s obvious they are going to reuse it! Since we love this place and to give them benefit of the doubt, we went back. Again we saw it happen but only to the ones that looked like there were decent leftovers. Gross!!! Makes me wonder about the quality and cleanliness of this place. Oh and they are cheap with their meat! Also customer service sucks and the owner needs to learn to crack a smile!!!

Went to the nearby air museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center for a visit and dropped in for a quick bowl of phở. Five minutes of driving away from the museum Center. Very spacey and clean restaurant. Friendly boss and staff. The large bowl of phở deserves the price of $ 9, with lots of Phở and meat. Better if served with spoon in the first place instead of having to ask for it. The soft rolls(shrimp, greens, pork, vermicelli) were much better than any other Vietnamese restaurants. Would recommend anybody going to Dulles airport or the Steven Center.

It’s just ok, but not great. With so many Phở places around, this one doesn’t stand out. The amount of protein they give you in the soup seems small. How about giving your customers a little more?

Go easy on the MSG… My dad ordered a chicken noodle soup(phở ga) and I got a beef phở. The broth was rich and flavorful and I was one happy girl… until we finished our meal. Both of us were chugging water for the rest of the afternoon and lemme tell ya, the lethargy was real. To give it some credit though, the summer rolls that we ordered tasted good and the inside of the restaurant is clean and spacious compared to other phở restaurants. I just wasn’t a fan of the MSG overload. Next time I think I’m going to get phở somewhere else. Sorry!

An ok Phở place, not nearly my favorite but it’s the only choice near my work. I’ll be back for sure.

The place was very packed with lunch time, served by very«stressed out» yet efficient servers. We waited not too long for a table and the dishes were served in double quick time. The fried spring roll was crispy and tasty, though it would be prefect if it not too greasily. The BBQ pork dried rice noodles is a must try with well marinated and charred meat– providing many delicious & satisfying bites. The beef noodles with broth was good too. A place to consider if one were to crave for no frills Vietnam cuisine in the area.

Great phở, good service, accommodates large groups. Came here at 8pm Saturday with a group of 20. They pushed tables together quickly and it wasn’t a problem. The restaurant is clean, service is super polite(appeared a little under staffed at times, but they were pretty accommodating for a table of 20 in a phở restaurant), and food is good. A little slow on the water refills, but I admit I drink a lot of water. I plan to come back here again! B E E F S O U P The«must try» here, according to my pastor and friends, is the spicy beef soup and not just spicy beef soup, but you have to ask for it with pork and beef and throw in bean sprouts. It’s a little greasy/oily, but imo beef broth is a little fatty so to me it shows they’re not cutting corners.

NOTFORVEGANSORVEGETARIANS!!! That’s all — Vietnamese countries like other East Asian pacific countries aren’t the richest so meat isn’t the primary staple. That being said being vegan/vegetarian I rely on a lot Asian cuisine so coming here was a huge let down. Omnivores it smelled good. Not sure grade of meat tho. Not organic but I’m sure a step up from Taco Bell

One of the few Phở joints in my neck of the woods. When I first moved to the Chantilly area and was craving some hot soup, this is the first Phở restaurant I tried. We almost always order take out from here since it’s so close to home. Employees are friendly enough and quick. There is plenty of seating inside, it’s clean and spacious. I appreciate their generous portions. The Phở here is OK as far as flavor goes. The broth could be more flavorful. Their ingredients are fresh. I’m still grateful that this place exists. The more mom and pop joints we can have in the Chantilly area, the better.

This is our go to place for Phở. The owner and staff are very friendly. The broth is very good, it’s clear that they make their own, unlike some of the other places we’ve been to. I can’t eat any beef so I switch between chicken Phở and grilled pork vermicelli. I do take a small taste of my Girlfriends beer phở, it’s amazing. I wish I could eat beef more regularly. Quality is always very consistent. If I had one fault, I wish they would use their AC. It gets kind of muggy inside in the summer time.

I used to come here very frequently during my lunch breaks when I worked in the area. Price range is pretty standard for a phở restaurant, but they have a lot more selections than the average one in the area. It’s a pretty standard order but the crispy spring rolls are pretty delicious here, I think they’re double fried or something of that nature. My go-to here besides the phở is the grilled lemon chicken rice dish. I frequent this place solely for this dish, it is awesome and the portion is extremely generous. If you’re visiting during lunch between 11:00 — 3:00(M-F) they offer a lunch special for a broth+appetizer or a rice dish+appetizer for $ 11.98. Not to knock any other phở restaurants but 98 is a much more clean atmosphere than usual which is a huge plus for me and I’m sure many other ppl. Nothing bad to say about this place, 5 stars!

My uncle took me here after I flew in from Dulles. We all ordered their #1 which has all their meats, tripe, and tendon included. Overall it was a decent bowl of phở and it was comforting to eat after a long flight!

Phở is not so bad. I ordered the typical Phở Chin(well done brisket), and the broth was good. A good dish to order on a cold day. But then I guess everyone around the area feels the same way. It was a packed evening. The Bun Bo Hue(thick noodle pork soup) is great. I think it’s delicious and go to place when I do not feel like eating phở. So is their Bun Thit Nuong(vermicelli noodles with grilled pork) — delicious. Make sure to ask for some fried egg rolls in the bowl. Service — Every time my family and I come here, we get good service. We are seated promptly, and the food came out quickly. The only small thing which I found a little embarrassing was that the people who work here talks loud across the restaurant to each other while a lot of patrons were still eating. Price — Reasonable. Place — It is a clean and tidy restaurant. Not run down and nothing to be scared and worried about. It is definitely my go to spot since it is close to where my family and I live.

Not as good as super phở(imo), but definitely good flavor. The soup and noodles are well cooked, and the portion sizes will keep you full. Their service is decent, but definitely don’t be shy about adding down the server if you need something.

I actually really like this place and one of the better places around the Chantilly area for phở. It is a bit greasy, but it is decent. I also love the vermicelli bowl. I always get the pork and spring roll combination. It’s a good amount of food and I get so full off of it. I like that they have lunch specials also. Their service is okay… sometimes it’s hard to communicate what I want with the female waitress, but otherwise it’s good. They could do a little bit better to check back often because it is a bit difficult to get their attention for water or anything else.

Hit just the spot on a rainy day, during which we had done some sightseeing straight from landing at Dulles Airport. I needed a warm energy boost to continue with our travels, and Phở 98 had favorable reviews. I got something similar to what I usually get at phở shops, which is a beef-based phở but without meatballs. The smaller size made me very full. It wasn’t too crowded when we first arrived, but by the time we left it seemed like all the tables were occupied. The two waiters rushed around since they were so busy. Looking around at the other diners, their vermicelli bowls looked popular and delicious.
