As much as it pains me to do so, I am changing my review of this place. The food is still good but I can’t overlook the poor service anymore. I have to call ahead to ask if they’ll deliver because it changes day to day. The new guy they’ve hired is a disaster. He’s messed up every single order we have placed since he started. Every single order! One large catering order for one of my coworkers got botched because of him. I called in an order and ended up waiting over an hour for it! And this wasn’t the normal 8 – 10 orders for my office. This was a mere FOUR orders! That was the last straw. I bring too much business to this place and have been coming here too long to be treated this way. When I left a message for the owner to give him a chance to correct the matter, I didn’t get so much as a call back. Three years of loyal patronage with weekly orders anywhere from $ 80-$ 100 but I guess I wasn’t worth the time. The previous manager may have been a lot of things but he valued his customers. He delivered every day, not just when he wasn’t tied to his cell phone on personal time. He made sure the orders were right and in the outside chance they weren’t, he ACTUALLY made up for it – and meant it. He was sincere in wanting to know what new things he could add to the menu and then he actually followed through and did them.

Amazing. The food of the gods. I can only speak for their restaurant side of business but damn, GHMM has some of, if not, THE best kabob I have ever eaten. The meat is moist and flavorful. The naan is of a soft and fluffy texture. The rice is plentiful and is a great complement to the meats. The chick pea soup is negligible but was hot at least and added some moisture to the overall dish. The side salad is satisfactory. Overall: this place has the best meat I’ve ever eaten in a kabob. I will be back, soon.

The service was nice and I had no trouble using an Entertainment coupon. The ground beef kabob was well seasoned, and the chickpea soup was also good. However, the lamb kabob was dry and bland and the bone in chicken was undercooked.

I have been coming to Gourmet Halal since August of 2012. They have the best halal meat/chicken out there. You can order as you wish and it comes out exactly like what you asked for. I used to live in Houston and Tucson before, and no where did i find halal meats so good and fresh. I love their grill offerings of minced meat kabob on skewer. Really fresh, and yummy… naan was pretty good too. I also found basic spices and ingredients for pakistani cooking. Overall, excellent place to shop for chicken and meats. Food is equally good.

Good food… new owner was unhappy to accept coupon when I was there. I went here once about a year ago so this is my review from that visit. I guess the old owners had sold the establishment to new ones. Well, the old owners had put out some coupons in the Entertainment book we buy. We had no Idea about the owner change and when we tried to use one of the BOGO coupons initially the new owner told us no. I said how are you not going to accept a coupon that has your name on it? He should have changed the name of the place if he wanted to cut ties with all past offerings. Eventually he reluctantly accepted the coupon if we told our friends and family about the place. How about Unilocal?Done. I’m sure he’s a nice guy but I hope he has learned a thing or two about being a good friendly businessman since then. Now the food; The food was very good. The naan was a little harder than I’m used to but the chicken was tender and rice was fluffy. Can’t ask for too much more. Overall a good food but I won’t be back.

Would love to give you a report on the food, but the restaurant reneged on its Entertainment coupon, so we walked out. First of all, the coupon is only for $ 7.00 off a second«menu item» so not much of a bargain there. But when we tried to order two items(that were incidentally more than $ 7.00), the clerk told us the owner only allowed use of the coupon for«combos,» the more expensive side of the menu, with items beginning at $ 10.99. Well, we didn’t have that big of an appetite, so, after a few pointed remarks, we left. This establishment needs to man up and honor the coupons they signed up for. We don’t do business with creeps.

This was delicious! I was on my way with my boyfriend to eat somewhere else and the word«Kabob» caught my eye. We decided to try this place out as both of us are kabob fans. We split the Combo #6, which was more than enough for both of us and with two drinks and tax it was only around $ 14. The chicken was on the bone and very moist and tender, the bread was good as well as the side of chickpeas. I will definitely be coming here for lunch again!

i compare it to Charcoal Kabobs in Herndon(which I really like). The grilled chicken is really good. It is fresh off the grill, succulent and juicy. The rice is different from the plain white rice at charcoal kabobs. This rice has herbs and flavoring. The bread is fresh baked and shaped oval like Lebnan Zaman in Tyson’s Corner. But it tastes and feels like Charcoal Kabob’s round bread. It’s soft and fluffy on the edges and great for dipping. The bread was also placed separately from the rice and grilled chicken. The chick peas come in a bowl. Resembles a soup and was a little on the cold side. I suspect they are not freshly made? The salad was drowning in some kind of dressing. it was nothing to write home about. The lettuce seemed fresh cut however. I think its a pretty good deal, all in all. I would eat here again for lunch. UPDATE: The dining area is small but pretty clean compared to Charcoal Kabobs. The white fork I used during lunch kept breaking apart. The fork was cheap plastic and the tines would break in my mouth. I switched to a clear plastic fork and no longer had the problem.

Great little market/kebab place. They have a lot of nice import pickled vegetables and international goods(including Bulgarian feta cheese and kashkaval!). Had the chicken kebab for lunch. The meat was very juicy and tender, the bread and rice were also very good. Proportions were generous. The only reason this place gets 4 stars is the chic peas. In my opinion, that is a very important aspect when eating kebab. Their’s were really bad… dipped in some kind of tomato based sauce they had no spice or flavor what so ever… nothing compared to Charcoal Kebab’s chic peas in Herndon. Other than that, very nice setting/lounge area to sit down and enjoy a meal. Oh and also the guy at the register was being a bit impolite when I went to pay for my $ 9 meal with a credit card, asking me for cash(which I didn’t) saying they have a $ 15 dollar minimum. In the end, he took the card anyway but it was a bit annoying to have to be asked that when no other kebab place in the area tries to save credit card costs like that.

i like this place. been here for lunch during the week and weekend. every time got the chicken kabob. half of the place is a market where they sell various food items, the other half a restaurant. they have a flat screen hanging up so you can watch cnn or whatever it is they have on. as for the food, the chicken was juicy. the bread was tasty. the rice was good. good chick peas. i never care much for the salad but it looked like salad. and the cucumber yogurt is good. there’s a young man working there and one or two older gentlemen. it’s always been quiet when i’ve gone which i don’t mind.

Had the Chicken Karahi with two naan bread yesterday waited for at least 20mins. but it’s worth the wait, very tasty and spicy if you like it hot. Best winter or spring food to warm you up. They sell pretty much different kinds of spices from the Middle East and Asia but they have tables and they have a sink right near where all the utensils so you don’t have to go the bathroom to wash before eating. Definitely be back again.

Great place to do groceries and eat. I loved their kababs. They are moist, flavorful and the price is reasonable. The bread was fluffy and tasty. I will go there again.

I’d always glided by this place on my way to and from Lowe’s, never having dropped in because, you know, I had hoses to repair or grommets to flange, or some such. On a slow weekday, though, I finally trampled down there with my stomach leading the way. After chatting with the very helpful lady behind the counter, I plumped for the lamb and chicken kabobs. Meals are served from the kitchen, with sides in prepared dishes at the front. The kabobs were delicious and tender, with just the right amount of char and juiciness. The sides were also great; sweet and spicy, fresh and crunchy. The place was empty when I arrived but it clearly does a good trade in this very delicious menu. I will most certainly be back.

I rolled up onto this place by driving through the shopping center it’s located in as I was making my way to Lowe’s. Inside, it appears to be a small grocery store selling mostly middle Eastern spices and goods, but there is a section of the store that has tables and chairs for patrons. The menu is somewhat sparse and consists mostly of varied kabob dishes. Folks familiar with kabob restaurants will recognize most of the selections. They even serve up Chicken Khadai(one of my favorites), but I haven’t had it yet. I decided on the boneless beef and chicken kabobs with some bread and rice on the side. *WOW*, Halal Meat Market is my new favorite place for kabobs! The bread was served up toasty-warm and the kabobs were very moist and filling(not too dry, like a lot of other places). HIGHLYRECOMMEND!

Randomly found this place driving around looking for a deli. I actually had no idea what Halal was until later talking to a friend of mine. So if you don’t need a halal deli then I wouldn’t go here for general meat needs they don’t have much and definitely don’t go into the frozen section. Anyhow I got a gyro there and it was AWESOME. fresh bread and great meat. really tasty and fresh. I went there again today to try out the buffet with friends. The Buffet didn’t look very good but I decided to try it, my friends got a standard dish. The buffet is ok, better then some but you only have three meats to choose from and they are all just good quality. I suggest skipping the Buffet and going for the meals. My friends meals looked great sad they both thought the place was a winner.

Yesterday I noticed the Honey Baked Ham Co. in the Kmart shopping center was no longer. I was pleasantly surprised to see it had been replaced by an Afgani grocery and restaurant. How ironic that a halal meat market replaced a place selling ham! I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the food off the buffet. The silky butter chicken sauce was rich and layered with flavors. The samosa’s were the best I’ve ever eaten. They were overstuffed and surrounded by a fantastic soft dough. The vegetable dishes were recommended by the friendly owner and were a hit. The buffet is from 12 – 4 and only $ 7.95. I’ll be back for sure, especially since their prices are very reasonable. While waiting for your food(if you order off the menu) you can shop for Middle East groceries and spices. Another option is sit back and watch television on the HUGE television in the dining room. Rather than blasting an Afgan movie, the owner had it on C-span Senate debates. So far G.H.M.M. get’s my vote!
