This place is so different than any other place in CR. I ordered their steam pot with mussels and lobster, which is basically the highlight of their menu. They give you peanuts to snack on while waiting. The steam pot was absolutely amazing and 100 times better than those pre-made, skimpy red lobster steam pots. There was also plenty to take home as well! I was impressed by the freshness of the seafood, as CR is not quite known for fresh seafood and the pricing was great. The service was great and fast. I am definitely coming back. The only suggestion I would have is to expand on the steam pot concept by offering different flavors. When I went to steam pot places on the east and west coast, there were options like cajun, lemon garlic, etc. I am telling all my friends to come here!

We shared a steam pot with crab legs, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn, and toast. We had bread pudding for dessert. Food was great. Service also. Will go back.

Great food and drinks! The Steam Pot for 2 was really good, albeit only comes with crab legs. sausage, potatoes and corn. We added clams, craw fish and shrimp. Although I expected more seafood in the steam pot the additions were reasonably priced. Overall, the meal was very tasty!

Worst service ever. Nice place inside. Staff did not give 2 cents thst we were there. We had a party of 5 and got up and left a pile of peanut shells on our table. No need to go here. We can eat anywhere!

This is a good new concept for CR, a seafood and beer place. They are things that need to be worked out. I expected more since this is not a first food establishment for the owners. Atmosphere: fun, laid back, and quirky. This place is Fireball crazy! Bottles on bottles on bottles. Negative part, one man followed us from the bar to our cars parked in the back parking lot. He was asking us for money. It was creepy out there in the dark and that’s the last thing I want at a restaurant, to be haggled. Beer: the selection was great. The Tangerine beer I’d order again. They made a pretty decent by moscow mule too. Service: waitress was good for being the only one on the floor, she was attentive. Food: we got a big steam pot with mussels, clams, crab legs, and crawfish. Served with melted butter. This is were it went wrong. the seafood lacked flavor. so bad. Crawfish was overcooked because it comes frozen, turned rubbery. The corn you can tell was NOT fresh. It was most likely frozen, the texture was really mushy.

I’m new to the area and found Daisy’s Garage with coworkers. They have a very good selection of beers — on tap, cans, bottles — and many of them are Iowa craft beers. The food has been delicious every time — including great southern-inspired spicy dishes, smiley fries, good fish tacos, and killer nachos. All come in large portions, even the free peanuts. Everything is fairly priced and well worth it. The only drawback is the strange lean toward college life with racks of Fireball«whiskey» for no real reason. The servers can’t even explain this oddity.

I used to go to the butcher block often, now it’s «daisys garage». I can’t tell you how their food is because I didn’t eat. I wanted to but the guy at the bar never acknowledged I was there. Granted he said it was his second day. All things considered, he was having a casual conversation with a lady at the bar. I sat there for probably ten minutes until the lady wwhom he was conversing with said«I think this guy needs a beer». He then acted as if I was burdening him, gave me a menu and continued to flirt with the older lady. I’ve worked in a lot of restaurants, even managed some. This is common sense. You greet a person when they sit, get a drink to them within a minute or two. It was annoying and I will not be going back.

Local owners of Riley’s and Butcher Block open this new concept in the bones of the Butcher Block 1st Ave. locale. The atmosphere is casual complete with automotive theme décor including license plates from all 50 states, oil signs and more. There are many bottle beers, tall boys and cocktails. The menu is classic bar food, but with a twist that includes several seafood options. My group had the chicken nachos, enough for 3.5 hungry gals to share. Sangria, cocktails, wine and beer make this spot a great place to hit up for lunch or a casual dinner with friends.
