AC didn’t work in room, suddenly charging 100% more for pets, often could not find anyone at front desk and would have to wait over 20 minutes for someone to show up– for check in AND for when cards didn’t work with the door. Not worth the price, I’d rather drive in from Waterloo.

This is an $ 80 hotel. For the money, you get what you expect. The staff was nice enough to leave remnants of hair behind while cleaning. The child-size coffee pot and the«complimentary breakfast» may tide you over until you can get you breakfast pizza at Casey’s. The rooms provide unique views from a large exterior window to the hallway. The designer quilt is a refreshing break from the typical muted hotel décor, but ours unfortunately came with extra stains. The TV provides a unique viewing experience with two modes: full screen or 3×3″. There is a Gideon’s bible in the night stand, but no Koran or other religious texts. On the plus side, there is a large mini fridge in the room and the staff was friendly. The hotel was quiet. And the Clarion Inn next door unknowingly provided the amenities Days Inn lacked(pool table, pinball machine, pool, etc). Booked through Expedia and saved $ 40, but would not pay full price. However, I’d stay again for another $ 80.

This hotel is in pretty bad shape, cosmetically speaking. The rooms were not thoroughly cleaned and there were stains on the desk chair. There were signs of mold in the bathroom and chunks of plaster missing from parts of the wall. However, it’s cheap, quiet, and you will receive good customer service. They did offer free breakfast, but no hot food items(besides a waffle maker). Overall, it was tolerable for one night, and besides the cosmetic issues I mentioned previously, the room was decent.

Gosh, isn’t three years kind of a long time to hold a grudge? I was here more than 20 nights last year and never found much of anything to complain about, with the exception of the in-room coffee. Last night was just fine here, it’s still just fine for an occasional stay, at a reasonable price, and I’ll be back again.

Stayed here when a nasty storm trapped us in the area. It’s not a ritzy hotel, so you can’t expect grand things but the service was EXCELLENT, the room secure, the water hot, and best of all, the bed was very comfy. I have back issues so having a comfortable bed was really important. The price was great too: the clerk working also got me a discount. The breakfast was pretty lame, so if you’re picky about the quality of your food you’ll want to grab breakfast somewhere else, but if you’re looking for a clean, simple place to stay for a night, this is a great spot for it. I would definitely stay here again.

OMG! So this place is a joke. I guess I should say that the room overall wasnt bad. However for one night in an ok room…$ 100…give me a break! The bathroom smelled of must… you know what I am talking about that like old wet towel smell. Other than that everything in the room was ok. HOWEVER, I will say, I was there over father’s day weekend and we wanted to grab breakfast before we left on Sunday so there was a little restaurant in the lobby. We figured perfect, we will get something here together and then be on our way. So we go to the front and there is a little old lady sitting there, I say there are going to be 10. She was like what? I was like there are going to be 10 of us. She goes, I dont know if we can do that. I look in at the restaurant the entire place is empty except like 3 tables of 2 – 4 people. She comes back and says we cant accomodate 10. I was like are you serious… this should have been the first sign to turn and run! So anyway, I was like well can you put two tables together or have us at different tables right next to each other? So she comes back and says she can do 6 and 4. Fine. We follow her up to the table and I did notice along the wall where I couldnt see, it looked like there was a big table forming but only half of the people were there. So when we sit down, we say that we are actually going to need 4 kids menus and a high chair, she says nothing and walks away. So I didnt know if she didnt hear me or was ignoring me or what. Come to find out, the lady hears just fine, its her social skills that are lacking. Finally after 20 minutes, I go and ask for a high chair again, they bring it and hand it to us to set up. Then a couple more people from the party along the wall show up. We are sit waiting there for someone to come to our table with a drink order or something… again nothing. Another table of 5 walks in. Finally we see a guy that is walking over to the big table and starts taking their order. Then he disappears into the back. No joke, its been at least 30 minutes. At this point, I decide I am going to the lobby for some coffee until the waiter can make it over to our table. Then he goes to EVERY table in the place except ours. Finally my brother in law goes and complains about it because his kids are getting a little ancy. Anyway, takes our order and kind of gives us a little attitude but whatever. At this time, the old lady comes up with some drinks… no smile and just starts yelling out what she has, however, half of the drinks are wrong so its really awkward because she is getting angry. So she takes her tray, spills half a drink on my sister and walks away like nothing happened. Another 35 minutes go by so at this point, we have been sitting there for over a hour for breakfast! The big table starts to get there food, the table next to us does too. Then the waiter comes over and says ours is coming right up… well, about another 15 minutes goes by he brings out 3 of the 10 plates. So I am sitting there waiting to eat and literally another 15 minutes goes by. I decide to go to the front to talk to management because its just ridiculous. Well of course, there is no management on premises… how nice. Anyway, he comes out with a couple of other plates and we are still missing about 3 people’s food. Finally, I say this is ridiculous and I absolutely refuse to pay for this craziness. I mean, one of the kids had oatmeal… really, an hour and a half for oatmeal? Dont you have a big pot back there that you just scoop it out of… so needless to say, half of us got our meal and the other half didnt. I would never go back. The waiter said that its never this busy on a Sunday!!! WHAT?! Weird, then he goes on to say that he is normally an accountant and the waitress called in sick for the day… I mean I felt like I was in the twilight zone. NEVER go to Beefstro… or this Days Inn… YUCK.
