Giving this place a star is even a stretch! Food was gross, facility was gross! Every time we go by here on 90, we grimace at the place!

Went in about 1120 on a Sunday so we were the only ones in there. We ordered crab stuffed jalapeños. They were ok nothing fancy. I had a side salad which was very fresh. I also had a cup of lobster bisque. One, it was way too hot. Two, it came out in a bowl you’d see at like an Asian restraunt so I thought what was weird. I think the serving size was great but for me I just couldn’t stomach it to eat more than a few bites. My boyfriend had shrimp with blackened mahi mahi and it was ok but over cooked, the shrimp were delicious though. Other than that nothing special about either of the dishes. I think it’s way too expensive and the interior is decorated horribly. Won’t be back.

The egg rolls are good, but the meals are horrible. The pasta was so hot it must have been microwaved with sauce straight from a jar. The fried plate looked like it came from HEB frozen meal section. How this place has 4 stars is misleading. We tried to look past the tough exterior because of the reviews, but we were sadly mistaken.

«How do I love thee, let me count the ways.» [Reminds me of Shakespeare. ] This was our first visit here to Nemo’s which I understand used to be located close to Potranco and Loop 1604. My wife and I decided to try out this place since I’d heard from a co-worker that the food was very good. Since we live off Loop 1604 around Seaworld, Castroville is not very far from us. Well, we were both very happy when we saw our cold and fresh side salads. Bigger than your regular side salad and with mixed greens. They were delicious. After those we could only drool hoping that the main dishes were of the caliber. THEYWERE. My wife’s grilled Mahi-Mahi was awesome. Dare I say it? Yes. Awesome. Great flavor and perfectly cooked. The Vegetable Medley was delicious. I ordered the fried Catfish and Shrimp Combination Plate. Ooh, wee. It was also great. The fresh iced tea topped it all off and we were two happy customers that will be back and will be back SOON. I took pictures of the menu so that you could also drool and plan your next lunch or dinner. We were there today for an early dinner. All was hot and cooked fresh. No complaints here. That amazed me. I didn’t have to grumble to my wife, or send it back to the kitchen for a remake, or complain to management since it was all hot ANDFRESH. By the way, they also serve pasta dishes, whole fish dishes, tender«fresh-cut daily» steaks(Ribeye, T-Bone, and NY Strip) cooked to perfection, stuffed fish, Clam Chowder soup, Gumbo, Lobster Bisque, and appetizers such as: crab stuffed jalapeño, fried pickles, frog legs, alligator, Calmari, Crab Cakes, Ceviche, and more. Sandwiches are also served. Types of sandwiches include: Oyster, Shrimp, Fish, Chicken, Crab, and Cheeseburger. So, If you have a chance to make it to Castroville, be sure and stop by and eat a great meal.

This use to be really good. And one of my top favorite places to eat in Castroville. But these past few times have been horrible. The last that did it for me was when I ordered chicken and was semi enjoying it. Then the meat started getting pinker pinker to REDANDBLOODY!!! So I stopped showed the waitress and owner Asian man. Asked what else I would like so I just ordered the grilled shrimp. Then when I got my bill I was still charged for both. Needless to say that did it for me. My family and I haven’t been back since.

The best restaurant by far in Castroville. The owner is genuinely the nicest person. He brought my father homemade soup that was not on the menu even and my hubby and I had whole catfish which you can rarely find anywhere. Everything was absolutely delish.

I’ve been wanting to try Nemo’s for a while, and finally talked my family into it after the 4th of July parade. The inside was much bigger than I expected and thankfully was cranking the A/C on this hot July day. Plenty of room for parties of all sizes. We were served by Lee(spelling?) and she was attentive, friendly, and personable. The list of lunch specials is long and run $ 7.99 a piece mon-fri 11am-3pm. Everyone in my group genuinely enjoyed their meals. We had a range of dishes. Shrimp sandwich, fried cod, fried shrimp, crab stuffed jalapeños, Caesar salad, and a kids garlic butter pasta with chicken. I didn’t care much for my Caesar salad which tasted borderline sweet, but with a watery consistency to the dressing. I didn’t feel the need to rave about my crab stuffed jalapeños like everyone else did. They were pretty good, but honestly tasted and looked like something you’d find in the freezer section of the local grocery store. All in all, a decent choice in a town that’s known for not having many options. The service is great, and I’m just glad I have a seafood restaurant close to home.

This is a great little place. Good food, fair prices. It’s not fancy so if that matters to you beat it. The waitress was very friendly and attentive with out hovering. She was great. I ordered the fried shrimp lunch plate. 10 shrimp and fries with coleslaw. Everything was great. If I’m ever in the area I will come back.

Great food. Family had a variety of things, fried shrimp, shrimp sandwich, cheese burger, fried catfish, and finally the Almond Crusted Drum. Wow, big portions and great flavor. Waitstaff was friendly and helpful. Food came fast and very hot. Restaurant was clean and seemed well kept.

I had my doubts when I walked in, you just don’t get good seafood in a small town hundreds of miles from the coast. Wow was I wrong! I ordered the seafood platter which was more than I could eat. The scallops were as big as I have ever had and the shrimp were magnificent. Fish filets, oysters, and fries topped it off. I don’t remember having better seafood at any price, but the platter could have been several dollars more and I wouldn’t have complained. Castroville is on my business route, so I have stopped at Nemo’s a half dozen times now. It has never disappointed. Do yourself a favor and drop in sometime.

My first visit to Nemo’s and I have to give it a mixed review. The veggies were fresh and well prepared and the grilled snapper was nicely seasoned but tough and overcooked as were the shrimp. My brother’s fried oysters were plump and delicious. Staff is friendly and efficient but not knowledgable about where the seafood is from. When I went to wash my hands the sink looked like mine when I wash up after gardening. Not my first choice.

Based on recommendations, we tried it out. There must be another Nemo’s Seafood Grill in Castroville because the Nemo’s that I went to was absolutely terrible. The food was overcooked with very bad taste. The waiter was probably the worst that I’ve ever experienced. He was condescending when I asked simple questions when reading the menu. I wasn’t treated with respect like a paying customer should get. I voiced my concerns to the manager, and he just shrugged it off. If you’re in Flour Bluff(on the way to Padre Island) try out Laguna Reef Restaurant for superior seafood in a harbor setting at a reasonable price.

It’s hard to come back to this place. We came here when it was on Potranco and now it’s in our town in Castroville. The first time we went it was great, second time not so much, third time not great at all. The food consistency is not good. Today I had the pulled pork sandwich because I don’t do seafood, and my bf loves it. The pp sandwich tasted old, reheated, and dry. The onions on the sandwich and my bf’s fish sandwich were frozen solid! I’m soo turned off by this place already but I go because my bf enjoys it –_–

I wasn’t to sure about going to Nemo’s after not having a good experience at the one that is now closed, but we kept seeing the parking lot full at the new location, so we had a go at it, no disappointment this time, everything was fresh and hot, I had the fried crawfish and it was good with a touch of spiciness the fries and onion rings were good as well, the wife had the fried cod, and the portion was big, she had this with the green beans and they arrived hot, the ice tea was good too, the only negative was the tarter sauce, somewhat bitter.

Have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the food that was served. It was well prepared and plenty of it. I had grilled tuna and grilled shrimp. It was served perfectly cooked. Will try it again soon

I visited here on August 4th and was pleasantly surprised. I indulged myself and had a fried seafood platter(which I don’t ordinarily do). It came with six large(very) shrimp, six scallops, hush puppies, and some fries. The portion was just right. Usually plates like this are mostly fries and have a minimal or small pieces of seafood. This one was well-balanced and very tasty. My friend had a lobster tail with asparagus. She reported they were both very good. The appetizer we had, crab-stuffed jalapenos, was delicious. The cream cheese & crab filling wasn’t overly scalding, and the breading was just right, i.e. not eight inches thick. The only down side was that the Coke we got was flat. The waitress apologized and got us some more, which was also flat. The third try was minimally better-carbonated, but not quite good enough. They apparently get their beverages in multi-liter bottles. I told the waitress it was time to bludgeon the vendor. They should go with the cans of soda or go with fountain soda if they want consistency. I’ll go back for sure. Now all we need is a Chinese place in Castroville!
